Keith was no stranger to the rain and when he met lorrie at Homecoming 63 it was love ten feet away. He finally found somebody that was doing him right and he said tell lorrie i love her. Keith told lorrie i have some bad news the Lord has summoned your Kentucky Bluebird home. Lorrie asked Keith why and he said Its all coming back to me now, I must go and share with others in heaven this brotherly love and take my rest but remember i will never be over you
I was lucky enough to see Keith play the Saturday night before he died at the Armadillo Ballroom in Brazoria Tx, What a great Show, His death make me realize how short life can be, I loved him then and still do
Truly awesome job by the singer/songwriter of this song capturing the spirit in song and words of a man that was truly loved by many of his peers and people in general. Keith was so loved by his country fans and peers alike. He was a precious gift sent by god for only a season but what a gift he was. He blossomed and god picked him and his work was over. No matter what we think about the situation with his death god is still in charge and he has the last word. He was a friend, Love ya K.W.
I refuse to promote the name Josh Josh brolin and all the other joshes Oh am i gonna get threats from the jewish whitehouse Freedom ?? Ha! Just another word.
I'm sorry, but this was the information I received, and when Kris first commented on this video I made to help preserve Keith's memory, he did not mention that there was anything wrong with the spelling of his name, so apparently it did not bother him like it apparently did some others. I will fix it if space allows.
I met Keith Whitley and his manger, Merle Kilgore (co-wrote "Ring of Fire") before I moved to Nashville in 1989, where I met this great writer...
Kris BERGSNES
Please note the spelling...perhaps you could correct your title as well as editing/updating the video description, as people don't always read comments and Kris & Josh can get full credit.
BTW, Kris is one of the most humble writers I've come to know in Music City.
Oh hell....a tear hit my eye when I heard the last words of this video. "I would like to, to still be doing what I'm doing twenty years from now." May, 9th 2009 is 20 years.
Kris, I really did respond to your comment, but I guess it didn't send. I so appreciate your stopping by and offering more information on this great song. Would you be able to provide more information on this song, such as when you wrote it or when this demo was recorded, or anything else you can add? Again, many thanks, and God bless!
wow keith was way b4 my time but he is and always will be the best male singer ever. i love all his songs and this song is one of those songs that u wish u had wrote but awesome song
i remember finding this video months ago........ and so glad i happened upon it again totally by accident and so glad i did as i love keith whitley. every song he ever did.. this song is so beautiful about him.. it touched me as much tonight as first time i found this vid of yours! thank u!!
Way too soon for us, but God is always right on time. It's not for us to know why, and after almost 20 years I still don't know why, but we can't charge God foolishly. Sorry for the delay in replying to your comment. Thank you very much for stopping by.
"Tell Lorrie I Love Her" has significance to me, as well. The love of my life and I spent every Wednesday night on the dancefloor at our favorite place before he left for Iraq. He would always request that song. On my first visit back to "our place" after he passed, our song came on, and I could feel My Love whispering in my ear..."tell her that I love her..."
This song is amazing. My mom was at his last concert. She still considers it being one of the most touching moments in her life to hear an angel one last time before he got his wings...
I fell in love with Keith's music the first time I heard "Don't Close Your Eyes"...and the first time I cried to a country song was when I heard "Tell Lorrie I Love Her," especially when I found out shortly afterward that he had died young.
I suppose I'm another one of the "new generation" that grew up with old country music, but this eighteen year old grew up with the Statler Brothers and Crystal Gayle, so it's not "old country" to me--it's good country.
I never did get to see Keith live I wasn't born till 1992 but my dad always listin to him. I love his music Keith you are the best. Rip Keith we miss you
I so love reading these comments from a new generation of Keith Whitley fans. Reading about how he still has an impact on a newer generation of country music fans never gets old, never. Thank you so much, and don't forget to sign that petition. Check my channel for the link.
I cried my eyes out the day that I heard the news that Keith was gone. I was pregnant with my second son when he died. I named my son Keith in honor of one of the best singers ever. RIP Keith I still miss your beautiful voice. Thanks so much for posting this.
Thank you for such a touching story. My dear friend cherrie68 named her daughter Whitley in honor of Keith, too. Thank you for stopping by, and while I'm at it, thank you for the sweet things you said about the Whitley duet I put together and the video Jim made using the track. I'm really touched by the impact it's had on those who really never followed Keith. Thanks again!
i wasn't born yet when he died but i know that day this world lost one of the greatest country singers alive. his music is what i listen to when i wanna hear all around great country. its sad that we will never have any new music from a great artist.
Thank you so very much for sharing this with your friends. I don't take the credit at all for this, I just put some pics together to give the eyes something to do while you listen to a great tribute to the greatest country singer ever. Thanks again. -Sharon
Thanks so much for stopping by. I'm glad you enjoyed it, and many thanks to slxstring & sheriff who shared it with all of you. It truly is a powerful song. I hope to have more great demos soon, along with the 2nd installment of "KW101 2008."
I'd like to hear one of the greats cover this song.........jus an awesome song. Brings me to tears. I was riding int he back of my dads truck thru the country when the radio announcer told of keiths death. I was jus a kid but it tore me up. He was my favorite singer and no one's been able to come close to the man. Keith you are the king!! Heavens got a great voice up there singing :)
Thank you for sharing with us your story of how you found out. Keith's death, for our generation, was like the Challenger explosion, the 9/11 attacks, and the death of Princess Diana, not necessarily in that order and all to different degrees. I think most of us remember where we were when we heard about those events. Thanks again for the great comment!
The only place you can find this is on the Keith Whitley Blvd. group page on Yahoo! They have the song as a free download. I made the video myself to the song, and I don't know anything about the song or the singer. Thank you so much for the kind comment and for stopping by!
I found out from Bill Arnold last night that this song was written by the singer Kris Bergnes. This song was pitched to Bill during the recording of his 2003 CD. I hope to have more info from Bill soon. Were you able to get the song from the Keith Whitley Blvd. Yahoo! page yet? If not, I can help get it for you. Just contact me.
