When I first started listening to Joy Division I couldn't tell Peter Hook's voice from Ian's in this song.

The similarity is especially eerie in the New Order song "Doubts Even Here," which sounds like it could be a Joy Division song, and might well have been if it hadn't been for Ian's passing.

Joy Division. like most bands from this era (punk, whatever - insert label here) were influenced by Iggy Pop, et al. I remember when they were intoduced in the states, but Ian killed himself before they were to embark on their first US tour. They were kind of a religion for me back then and I still listen to them.

I love joy division but i would never say Nirvana was inferior to them. They are just completely different. The same as well. But definately for the most part different.
