  • very nice ;)

  • what?????

  • It WOuldent realy work on the Cello Would it ? LOL dont realy want to try it =/

  • ahaha i would try that definitely but i'd need a broken bow... and i don't feel like tearing mine apart just yet. haha nice job dude!

  • LOL just undo the screw until the bow comes apart, wrap the hair over the fiddle, and get practicing!!

  • It doesn't ruin your bow, it's just not the best for it I'd expect. You can put it back together after- I used my old bow for this- all that I've had happen was a couple hairs breaking. I don't want even that to happen to my new bow, or my teacher would kill me lol. You just remove the screw, push the frog back until it "unlocks" and you will have to hold both parts (the bow and the frog) in one hand to play. ^.^

  • @G33KG1RL7 Oh, and make sure you don't lose the screw... might wanna keep it in your pocket. xD

  • This is great. LOL. Interesting how he still kind of does the string crossings, although it seems like he doesn't really need to.

  • what tuning did you use for that bit mate?

  • normal tuning. He used my concert violin for that rendition!

    Ak

  • haha :P so aussie! Cheers to you mate and sweet playing!

  • It sounds awesome ,,,Great job,,,I must try that =o)

  • Awesome Ian!

  • Strange , Weired but certaily AMMAZING...!!!

  • that is so now real, the bow hair isnt even attached to the wood of the bow, theres so not enough tension 2 even produce a sound

  • This is real... no doubt. Ian Cooper is a virtuoso on the violin, and can do almost anything. It's also not unheard of to play a fiddle like this. The hair IS attached to the bow, it's just cut extra long, as the stick is held under the instrument as opposed to above it. It kind of like a fiddlers way of playing quadrupel stops with the bow. Paul Anastasio does this too.

Go to Stringamp dot com and check out their pages, as there is one with Paul doing this...

  • It's an ordinary bow. A shitty chinese one I lent him. You just have to hold it together that's all.

  • HYSM; I recorded it for Ian. It's easy, you undo the hair at the frog, wrap it round the fiddle with the hair on top. You grip the hair AND the bow together and just belt your way through it.

  • Gravity is producing the tension <_<

But I understand why you'd think that.

    But yeah, hes amazing.

  • Holy cow that was amazing. I've never seen that done.

  • Venuti would be proud. :)

  • Yes, Joe is the King!

  • Couldn't agree more. :)

  • Hey, that was great. Ol' four-string Joe would be happy to see someone can still do this. What a pleasure! Thanks

  • ok, thats a new trick i havent seen before. not sure its good for the fidel or the bow but pretty neat all its own.

  • i saw a guest star with the symphony do that as an encore with his strad. but probably a crappy bow. haha.

  • what da? just awesome

  • OH MY GOD!! Now, I have NEVER seen that kind of Bowing in my life. I guess you need to do what you can to get that right touch..haha.

  • i can see why im such a bad fiddle player now lol!! ive been holding my bow the wrong way!! fantastic ;0)

  • Nice "down under" bowing. Get it- down under. Ha ha

  • I don't get it ;)

  • verny nice idea!

got to try this with my bowl...and look what my mother says about it =)

  • haha! coops - you're mad! but yeah you're the best...maaaate! maurice

  • you're destroying your bow!

  • you mean that crap $25 chinese bow he's using, that he borrowed from me? LOL
