Right off the bat, I can tell you about the angle of his sword in jodan no kamae- if my kissaki ever went that far back, I'd get laughed at. Just food for thought...
Yes, the problem is that his Iaido is around 40 years old, and every sensei has his peculiarities about the details of each movement. The governing law should be that the best technique is that which is the most effective in terms of economy of movement and killing power. But there's no way to confirm that in these times. So we just stick to whatever romantic forms our sensei teaches us.I don't waste my time anymore with these thoughts.We learn disciplines that have lost their original purpose.
