I like musical theatre, and that's kind of why I don't want to see Smash. I saw the preview, and it looked like they weren't showing broadway the way it is, where the blonde girl with the experience would clearly get the role, and the underdog brunette who really doesn't have the right voice for Marilyn Monroe (but does for the mass crowd that likes the raspy warbling thing) does. That's just what it looked like to me, and it elicited a resounding "UGH" from me.
