Hey! 'tole me he once he fell in to onna dem mini black holes one time and them pharticle physicist persons, what whid it micro-mega gravity and no-doubt narrow sides, thought that that was it for him an were arranging his send-off to the great mere-qwak in the sky when he had to clamber outto the event horizon an tell all them bit-fizzy-boys to: "Queiten down - it just a fur wound!"
my mother's cousin knows Aleksander the meerkat who does them car insurance ads when he got some time off from wrapping himself in cotton wool and scampering round inside the hadron collider to clear out all them leftover quarks!
In one model it's called a quark bag. In that model, being inside of the nucleus is like being inside an elastic sack. The way the bag breaks is then supposed to be something like a water balloon, with the expulsion of a liquid-like quark-gluon plasma.
To put it simple, Quarks are bonded together by a gauge boson called a Gluon. For example, a Pion, consists of a Quark and an Antiquark held together by a Gluon. [u- ~ d] = Pion. (u- is an anti-up quark, ~ is the Gluon, and d is the down quark. Understanding the Big Bang theory can help too. I read a lot about science. Looking at science is simple, understanding it, is not.
because the strong force gets stronger over longer distances (like a rubber band) & once the energy is big enough a quark/anti-quark pair will form from the energy.
Interesting, an atom is almost 1/100 quintillionth the volume of a cubic millimeter, the nucleus is just over 1/100,000th of the atom's diameter (several femtometers in diameter), the quarks are messured in atometers. The three quarks are held together by an interaction of 8 kinds of gluons.
i find physics really interesting but have very little understanding of it.. protons?? neutrons?? electrons?? quarks?? higgs?? does anyone please know of any way i could understand it easier? or of any books or websites that may help? please help
You poor guy! I've blocked him now. Try other youtube and TED videos for explanations. I did three years of physics at uni and the stuff I learned the best was from watching documentaries =D
Good comment. I know the feeling, I did 5 years doing astrophysics and I cant help but think the likes of Michio Kaku, Brian greene, Brian Cox & others managed to explain everything so much more clearly than my lecturers ever could.
Yes I do , Look for a book called magnetic current by ed leedskalnin (This man has achieved more than any physicist around) and his theories are actually facts unlike most. Lets just put it like this..If Ed's theories are wrong the pyramids couldnt of been built :)
It's at CERN. The worlds largest particle accelerator in Geneva. You have to book way in advance if you want to see underground but the free museum bit is cool.
It's not impossible to separate quarks... There just has to be enough energy to "confuse" the gluons.
Smash two lead atoms into each other at sub-light speed and see what happens.

give me one of those big plastic nucleus things i bet you i could separate the little bastards

and you separated them without a atom smasher , yeah

trippy too know that.these are examples that should be posted at playground park's already 'n' side by corner's and stuff....

why Is it impossible to separate two Quarks. i would like to Know More
arequipa1 3 years ago 8
because the strong force gets stronger over longer distances (like a rubber band) & once the energy is big enough a quark/anti-quark pair will form from the energy.
BrandonFurtwangler 2 years ago
because when quarks meet they have a force called gluons which right there i think become self explanatory
SrgtBarney 2 years ago 2
@SrgtBarney no it doesn't...
detheuss 2 years ago
no at its self explanatory or no they dont have gluons?
SrgtBarney 2 years ago
We don't know if it is impossible, the CERN project accelerates protons to almost the speed of light to see if we can "break" it and obtain 3 quarks

hell yea! want to be youtube friends?

On youtube search for "Atoms and the Periodic Table (1 of 15)". Once done, watch "The Discovery of the Electron (2 of 15)
" etc etc. There are obviously 15 parts to the video, each only a few minutes in length but very well explain the basics.
Enjoy

@seventiesmoron get complete idiots guide to physics a good book for understanding physics
baeronautics 1 year ago
@seventiesmoron best is: first try wikipedia.
Then google names of particules.
Or read any science magazine about subparticle physics, but sometimes they tell bullshit.
Even specialist in quantum physic cant understand their own matter, so ... have fun :)

@seventiesmoron try youtubing the casopeiaproject. or things like basic physics, atom models, and things like that

you only did 1 not 2 . you are suppose pull on both handles at the same time. if you try it locks up.
Pdariean 3 years ago
Actually he did. By moving one, he separated two from the total of three.
9608875 3 years ago
Are you joking or just stupid?
There are 3 Quarks you remove one that is only separating 1 Quark from a group of 3.
after you remove 1 than you have 2 Quarks. its imposable to separate the 2 remaining Quarks.
Pdariean 3 years ago
Oh yeah? I don't remember that. In the video I had one hand holding the camera anyway =D

@FizzyMcPhysics A friend of mine is going back to CERN soon for a few weeks. He works on the CMS detector. I wish I could go check it out...hahaha
Amazing stuff!
