The jeep is the fastest production SUV I own one and i love it. The Porshe cayenne Turbo is fast and can go offroad and its nice but i will not pay 120k for an SUV. Plus The Jeep is faster and looks cooler and sounds better. Plus fully loaded Jeep is 48k so to me the Jeep is a better buy.
Wooow, not. Spend more on a Porsche Cayenne and not only go fast in a straight line but around corners. Also without the silly central exhaust you can tow 8700 lbs with the cayenne... Oh and did i mention you can go offroad too? A much better buy.
Macnei, have you ever driven a SRT-8? It will easily run with a Cayenne Turbo on a road course, ask me how I know:D
For the price of a Cayenne Turbo I could buy a SRT-8 GC, mod it to 600 HP AND buy a Wrangler Rubicon, lift it and add 37" tires. Which again is a better buy?
Actually I have, it wasn't mine of course. I couldn't spend money on a vehicle that only can do one thing well. I would rather spend 3 - 4 times as much money on something that I already explained is much more usable, and lets not forget it comes from a country of precision and excellence- Germany. The Porsche Turbo S will out-run an SRT-8, as will the Turbo. Why would you want the cost of several vehicles when you could own one extremely capable vehicle. Plain and simple Porsche= better.
Funny, I am a member of the Autobahn CC in Joliet Il, and was at the last Porsche club track day, I took a few Cayenne Turbo S owners for a few laps around the track, 2 of them actually bought GCSRT-8s after that weekend. Granted I have a decent amount of track time there, but I beat the best lap time of the day by over 2 seconds.
As for the Cayenne being capable off road I will give you 500.00 if you could follow me for 100Ft of the Orange trail at the Badlands (Attica IN) in my Wrangler.
Well good for you and your trac-time, the you cannot be telling me that the Jeep is better on trac. It might have that simplistic charm that comes from a less sophisticated vehicle, but if you look at the whole picture Porsche has done a better job of engineering an SUV, and the high price tag is a clear reflection of its multi-purpose engineering.
You pay for what you get and in this scenario you are getting a very good vehicle for its price from Jeep, but you are getting so much more from a vehicle if you own the Porsche. As for is off roading capabilities, I wasn't comparing it the the wrangler i was comparing it to the SRT-8 and even the Grand Cherokee in general.
And I´d like to say, that 3 of 4 SRT8 Customers drove the Prosche Cayenne Turbo. Afterwards they did one test drive with the SRT8 and they bought it and sold their Porsche. So, you cant tell me, that the SRT8 is worse than the cayenne!
It has a Full time electronic 4wd that oppertates in about a 10/90 split that can be varied if conditions require so. It has Dana 44 rear-end and a custom front diff with ind. front suspension (IFS) that is very strong, though too difficult to explain. It aint no CJ but unless your rock crawling it'll beat any other SUV out there (Except for a Hennessey variant...) . Lets just say 20" rims aren't exactly trail rated. but a set off 33" tires outa do the trick...
of course you can get it in a 4x4 retard its a JEEP! and jeeps are fast as hell i have an older 1995 cherokee sport 4.0 high output thats fast and its a jeep, its no sports car but for being stock its fast but jeeps are more torque, in case you get stuck in a mud hole.
You call me a retard when I'm the one who writes beyond a 2nd grade level, triplesix..? I only see the new non-Wranglers in 4x2 options, didn't care to know if the other models had the 4x4 option previously. Nice SUV regardless.
first of all triplesix is triple six mafia as in 3-6 mafia, i mentioned my jeep because you said "Fast doesn't mean much for a Jeep."
and what the hell are you talking about "I only see the new non-Wranglers in 4x2 options and then you have im the one who writes beyond a 2nd grade level WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU TRYING TO SAY god damn your stupid and you shouldn't even had the privilege to see such a nice jeep.
does anyone know where the other comnmercial with a song is? Its sort of a 70s style commercial, and almost goes through the decades, with a vintage-esque song?

I guess the bottom line is...if you have an extra 100g's kicking around buy a Porsche, if you are a normal person buy a jeep.
