  • Grüße Fräulein, Sturm-Verbot-Führer, Petzeangriff, which I do not think, master cylinders thinks that this is aficianado mega+mixes that best ones its splendour road the impacts is switched on, which entire DIGITAL DISK donkey steps

  • it's incredible!! come facevate a reggervi!! troppo forte!

  • Lead singer in the Rubettes is Alan Williams, not Tony. The drummer is John Richardson, and he is very much alive and well, and looks as good now as he did then. Lucky guy!!

  • Great clip...I loved the Rubettes - "Sugar Baby Love" was the first single I bought as a 10 year old and I had their debut album too. I can still remember excitedly going to the cinema to see "Never Too Young to Rock" and loving it. Probably best not to revisit it from what you say!

  • Great stuff thanks for posting. Also loving the comments, you've gotta love those corny 70's 'films'

  • Dave Mount was not Rubettes drummer, Dave was drummer for the other awesome band in the film Mud :) ~(for @seventiesmania).

Cheeky chappy on drums here is John

  • Yes so old am I lol, remember teenybopping in the cinema watching that film, awesome memories ty

  • Don't diss 'Never Too Young To Rock', it's a classic! The two guys in the van with the radar had to enlist all the groups seen, such as the Rubettes and Slick, to join a giant concert for the young people who had been banned from listening to music by the government, or something. It was a most ridiculous film, but I'd still love to see it again!

  • great band great music great video big thx!!

  • Anyone any idea where this was filmed?

  • Fantastic, I used to love the rubettes, that lead singer made me feel things when I was a teenager, wonder what he looks like now?

  • @Tinshikent The lead singer for the Rubettes was Tony Thorpe! There is an interview with him over on the right. He has chnaged a bit! Havent we all!!! :)

  • Wow. talk about a low budget video!

  • It can be easily part of the sountrack for Scooby Doo, Banana Splits or Happy Days

  • Side by Side, starred Stephanie DeSykes and Rain, with various B grade support acts. This clip is indeed from Never Too Young To Rock, which basically showcased Mud, with The Rubettes. Not sure, but I think that the trio Hello (New York Grove, Tell Him) were also in the film. Re the comment below - The Glitterband were very very professional, they knew their stuff - John Springate was about 4Ft 4, but hell he could play. I was a huge Rubettes fan, had all the singles. GREAT POST

  • deltango66: I see in your comments that this clip is from a film called 'Never Too Young To Rock' , I seem to remember it from another film called "Side by Side" which starred Mud amongst others. I could be mistaken, can you shed any light for me?

  • @MrBillyhedge Wasn't this the film in which Mud bizarrely got caught up in a fight between football hooligans in a transport café? And then they had those bows and arrows with plastic suckers on the end with which to fight back? I love all those cash-in 70s pop films with flimsy stories :-)

I'm not sure Mud were in 'Side By Side', Kenny definitely were. Fox were billed as being 'in the film', but their appearance was just one character playing an early video tape of them.

  • @SeventiesMania I could be mistaken, but I dont remember seeing NTYTR! I do know that Dave Mount (who played drums for the Rubettes-and has since died) was in "Side by Side", and I seem to remember Mud knocking down a wall between the two clubs in the storyline and starting to play! I actually have "Side by Side" on videotape somewhere! Its a real trip! I also remember that when it was shown in the cinema it was shown alongside "Remember me this Way" with GG (nuff said!).

  • thanks for sharing, i love this band

  • Ahhh! How I loved these guys! I had a red

Rubettes suit made that I often wore to school with my little white cap, and oh

did I ever get harrassed by the metalheads!! They nicked me hat!!

  • Great video!! I was a child on 70's. 35 years late I say: I love Rubettes.

  • Some great 1970s traffic shots there...

  • Totally 1970s? But the Rubettes did retro 50s/60s style music.

  • And you pal, are one twisted twat! Why do you have to be so vile? I have no life? Er, excuse me??? Think you need to get one! Moron.

  • @sylvanprince - How old are you my friend ??? 13 years of age. No adult would answer so rudely...

  • Alan Williams was so sexy. Fancied the bloody pants off him, Gerry Sheperd of the Glitterband and the lead singer of Brotherhood of man, six million dollar man..Had pictures out of 'Look-in' all over my wall!!!!

  • very early 70s...remeber GBs little old towns

  • Can anyone tell me how to get hold of this film? been looking for ages

  • I meant truck, or lorry,...silly me!

  • You have to perform on the back of a tuck to be a GREAT band!

  • I loved this film-I was very young, & made my grandmother take me to it because I wanted to see The Rubettes!

  • please tell me the name of this film,i went to seeit when i was 10,nd i,m 42 now.i av looked on mininova but cant find it,the rubbettes wer the only group i ever really listened too

  • ah memories i seen the movie 7 times when i was a teenybopper, the rubettes were my favourite. thankyou deltango66 for sharing this on YouTube.
