Yes, it's funny how GM had a special team to develope a factory exhaust for the camaro. They used several test cars, sound recordings, computers to develope what they thought was the "ideal" stock camaro exhaust note. And Camaro owners have been stripping them off left and right.
ive heard v6's that sound better, that thing sounds like the exaugst is running out of the heads strait into a catylatic converter and nothing else. i think it sounds like crap especially for something with 400+ hp
i no the 5.0 beats this, even if its not by much in a drag race, and that changes nothing on my opinion on it bein badass and me wantin it more than a mustang any day. if i got this when im 20 id keep it till im 50.

@KickAsphalt -- I also think that GM failed in its not making the V-8 a standard feature on this car within a more reasonable price range. A buyer shouldn't have to break the bank for a fully loaded SS in order to get the engine that they obviously want in a car of this caliber. $15,000 extra for two additional and very important cylinders seems excessive.
@Rlnthndr You're probably right. My hubby needed a new car too, so we settled on an LT2 for my new car. It isn't bad. I just miss the roar of my trade-in. If I could have found an SS for $30K I would have snagged it. But we all know that a dealer isn't going to stock a $30K SS. They're only going to stock the upgraded models going for upwards of $38K. I'm sure they perform well at that price, but it's still hard to swallow that a buyer has to pay so MUCH more for an engine with soul.
I like the car but the sound isnt for me. We just put magnaflow on our 2006 volkswagen toaureg v8. it sounds great! But ya, love the car, but the sound isnt my taste.

Um I'm gonna disagree. The Mustang doesn't look anything like the Camaro. The Camaro last year did NOT outsell the Mustang. The new 2011 Mustang already has 11,000 orders.. that's 1/7 of the Camaro's total sales for the past year in one month. So it seems like the "icon" which already has a recall on the IRS system has a little way to go yet. Until the Z/28 comes out IF it comes out the GT500 is king of Pony Car Hill. I like all 3 of the new Pony cars.

@sasserdave ford is bringing the 5.0 back in 2011. and the v6 is the 3.7 from a lincon model, and has 315hp. oh yea the 5.0 has 400+hp, and a few hundred pounds lighter than the camaro. so im pretty sure that means camaro will not stand a chance

2011 Mustang GT will have 5.0L Coyote, it's a done deal, the production lines are being set up as we speak. V6 Mustang is already confirmed to be 300hp for 2011, the GT will have at least 400hp.
The bloated pig Camaro would have to put out near 500hp to compete with that. Won't happen, as Chevy can't put that much power in a $35K Camaro SS, it would totally undercut the base Corvette.

The single worst decision of my life so far was to get rid of My 1991 Z-71. For, of all things Gas mileage. Still kicking myself. (yes I even kicked myself when gas was $4.50/ gallon.) Miss that ole 350.
Through the course of my various adventures with my Chevy, I must have run at least 20 gallons of water through the intake of that thing. (not all at once of course), and it never quit, never left me stranded ( I was always at least able to get it to the shop), and I only came across 1 other truck that it couldnt pull out, and that was due to an incorrect approach. Even with the rear end blown up, I still drove it through a hellacious mudhole that no on else could get through, (In 2wd no less)
well that speaks for itself. a mid 90s silverado with a 350 with 250k miles on it is probably worth the same as one with a 305 with 50k miles on it. and for good reason. theyre that much better and that reliable.
theres one category that the camaro doesnt beat the mustang in here. thats weight. but it has plenty more power to make up for the fact that its heavier. gm especially chevy has always been the best at balancing out a ton of power with great mileage and they showed their stuff again with the camaro.
Sry but this camaro does not sound good, it sounds like a C6 vette which also doesn`t sound good.
Listen to some camaro SS or the 2010 camaro cherry bomb vids and you`ll know what I mean.

Doesn't matter. Tests show that even though the Mustang has more hp the camaro beats in on a 0-60 and quarter mile run..in the end it's how much torque you got and the Camaro has plenty of it.

what the hell are you talking about i own an 05 mustang gt. It has 300 hp the camaro 425hp. THAT is why the camaro beats it. If you are talking about the v6 camaro then you are even more out of your mind, because the mustang has the same hp and way more torque and is 350lbs lighter.

ford finally is coming back to the times. nobody runs under 300hp in a muscle car anymore, besides the restored classics. im a for fan all the way, but chevy was smart when they brought out the 30xhp v6 and the 425hp v8. i wa dissapointed when ford still had the same powertrain in the new mustang. they come out with the noew ford powertrain in i think 2011? i play it as i see it. (i rock ford, but chevy had the upper hand with this till the new powertrain)

lol its funny how many chevy guys are here lol they gave you all negatives, but your right. BTW they wont need the coyote because the new 5.0 is gna be 400hp alone and be 200lbs lighter. The tes car posted the same time on a ROAD course as the new M3 which is crazy. So being that an M3 runs 12.6s the mustang will either match or beat that time which puts the camaro to shame.

no cars have even got that yet the raptor f150 was supposed to get it but no it has a 5.4 producing yes less power than 400 hp. and maybe the mustang will finnaly be able to catch up if it does get the engine that likely wont be made

and the raptor is getting the 5.4 liter it is coming out in the spring for 2011, the base is 300hp and the upgrade is a 5.4 400hp. I see what you are saying and many times yea that's true but these are official numbers posted by ford, not rumors.

2011 Mustang GT will have 5.0L Coyote, it's a done deal, the production lines are being set up as we speak. V6 Mustang is already confirmed to be 300hp for 2011, the GT will have at least 400hp.
The bloated pig Camaro would have to put out near 500hp to compete with that. Won't happen, as Chevy can't put that much power in a $35K Camaro SS, it would totally undercut the base Corvette.

kind of a bad video, its much much louder in person. the mustang is louder than the camaro but the camaro pulls out a smoother sound, while the mustang sounds like it could be a diesel.

my brothers mustang is 3 times louder then that and i used to really like the camaro but every time i look at it now it just keeps getting uglier and plus i hate absolutly HATE THE INTERIOR IN THIS CAR i mean give me a fricking break a car you pay 40 grand for has the dashboard of a god dam toyota camry disapointed in this car know someone who has this car and ive seen him drive you cant hear a hint of the so called 425 hp. the mustang has 315 horse power louder looks good and is almost as fast

actually its only about a half second behind the camaro in the quarter mile, and about .2 seconds away on the 0-60....the hennessey camaros are really nice, idc what anybody says, im a mustang guy, but i love all american built pony cars, and muscle cars lol

really? cuz while i dont have a licsense yet, my family does own a 300 hp 4.2L V8 Jaguar XJ8L, producing around 400 ft lbs of torque. While rx 7 s are great, that Jag is better. ( and i think the camaro sounds great. )

I'm not saying the mustangs are pieces of shit, like most of the people who opinionate a car they dislike, but chevy always and always will have the best bang for your buck, better handling and more horsepower. As far as looks they both look pretty good, and also even if GM is bankrupt the government will still honor the warranties. So who gives a fuck about the companies? Worry about warranty.

The single worst decision of my life so far was to get rid of My 1991 Z-71. For, of all things Gas mileage. Still kicking myself. (yes I even kicked myself when gas was $4.50/ gallon.) Miss that ole 350.

Through the course of my various adventures with my Chevy, I must have run at least 20 gallons of water through the intake of that thing. (not all at once of course), and it never quit, never left me stranded ( I was always at least able to get it to the shop), and I only came across 1 other truck that it couldnt pull out, and that was due to an incorrect approach. Even with the rear end blown up, I still drove it through a hellacious mudhole that no on else could get through, (In 2wd no less)

well that speaks for itself. a mid 90s silverado with a 350 with 250k miles on it is probably worth the same as one with a 305 with 50k miles on it. and for good reason. theyre that much better and that reliable.

theres one category that the camaro doesnt beat the mustang in here. thats weight. but it has plenty more power to make up for the fact that its heavier. gm especially chevy has always been the best at balancing out a ton of power with great mileage and they showed their stuff again with the camaro.
