Nobody listened during the 2008 elections, thank God that Obama's "Cap and Trade" failed but the Obama administration has allowed the EPA rules effecting the coal mines do go into effect on Jan. 1, 2012. If coal mining is stopped today, over 50% of Americans will literally freeze in the dark. Additionally, coal mining not only provides jobs for tens of thousands of miners, but the vendors and surrounding communities benefit as well.
The electricity will sky rocket in states where coal energy has to be shipped to. In my state TXU/Luminant, the largest power generating company in Texas, announced it would be shutting down two of its coal units. So, guess what that means? Most of our coal will have to be shipped in and our energy costs will increase dramatically. Companies will have to down size and jobs will be lost in order to cut on energy costs. Food and fast food will be almost impossible to buy for some Americans.
By the way, please don't be angry at Obama if your huge Feb 2012 light bill leaves you with Change in your pocket because Obama was up front during the elections, he didn't lie to you. You are the ones that wanted Change. Obama is not to blame for any of this, you are, you voted that way..."I didn't but I am still not mad at Obama, I am angry with the ones who voted for Change."
