Hi Hexarith, I wonder if you'd like to upload an openKMQ compatible over/under version to the new vimeo group openKMQ3D. over/under is one of the recommended upload formats, but unfortunately banned by Google as output. The new vimeo group also provides intructions how to prepare. If you limit it to a total of 768x1024 and 1.8Mbps H264/MP4 it will even play on iPad3D and other tablets - full color and ghostfree!

Great work, it was awesome to see elephants dream once again, but.. am I the only one where the video looks better watching it in windowed mode instead of fullscreen? Using Green/Magenta (Full Color)
Where i can download the 1080p "Red/Cyan optimized (Dubois)" version? my PC can´t play smooth videos from youtube in Full screen mode, but if i play the same Video with VLC it run smooth.
@josecmVR All those viewing methods offered by the YT3D player are done in realtime, with a side-by-side video as source. Unfortunately I don't know of any stereoscopic player other than YT3D that does Dubois.
@crim3cost separation is for big screens (i.e. cinemas). If you turn up the separation too far, you're forcing people to diverge their eyes.
Also stereoscopy newbies tend to set separatio too wide, in an effort to "really show it's 3D and has depth". It's like applying spice to food: Don't kill the taste with flavour.
@hexarith I've been gaming in 3D for more than 4 years now. In a game what I want is a realistic stereoscopic setting, so separation almost match my own eye separation. ('almost' to avoid diverge my eyes ;) )
I'm aware a movie has different requirements, and from your answer it seems you already know what you want, so it's all right to me then. Again, great film.
It is so nice to see one of the blender movies finally with actual 3d not something that just looks like 3d. Great job to you and the whole blender team. I'm watching as a red/cyan anaglyph. I wanted to do this my self but I couldb't find the files anywhere. I have done some simple blender anaglyph work so far. I plan to upload some 3d enabled stuff when I get access to a good internet connection and software to make the images side by side. Can't figure out how in blender yet:'(
@RealizedPotential Side-by-Side in Blender is easy. In Render Settings set the output with to 2x the horizontal resolution of the "watch width". Add two movie strips in the Sequence Editor. In each strip's properties enable "Use Translation" and use the translation options to place them. Strip translation is animatable, so you've to set the same translation offset for both start and end.
For rendering stereoscopic stuff: Just wait until I release my 2.5x stereoscopic workflow patches.
@Homeworkbad Sintel will be done in stereoscopic 3D by the original team, with some additional support from professional stereographers. Possibly with the stereo workflow extensions I added to Blender to create ED3D. BBB will be done by me and some other people who's like to participate sometime next year.
@defcon2XX8 In the YouTube version your options are pretty limited. What works well, if you've got the right kind of monitor, is switching to row-interleaving. Hyundai and Zalman offer displays that are compatible.
Otherwise you'll have to wait until I publish the video files prepared for stereoscopic viewers. I'm also looking into having 3D-BluRay created.
@defcon2XX8 I just watched it with NVIDIA's glasses, and it looks quite nice. I had to download the video first (628 MB highest quality), configure NVIDIA's Video Player to decode mp4 and voilá! Layout is Side-by-Side, Right Image First.
There's nothing that I've looked forward to more in the past few weeks than this video. The quality is great, and the 3D is well done, even though cross-view is a strain for the eyes. Thank you very much for your effort, and cannot wait to see Big Buck Bunny or Sentinel.
@hexarith Cool, looks proper now! Excellent work BTW, like @danthemango I have been looking forward to this. I will make a new blog post about it tomorrow.

Great video mate, but you need add the 16:9 ratio tag:
yt3d:aspect=16:9
and if you want [yt3d:swap=true]
Cheers

"I already fixed this for the download releases and also will add an improved version here."
From where can I download a 3D version of Elephants Dream?
There are only 2D versions on official ED website.

so what do you need to watch it in real 3D something like Nvidia's Nvision glasses or a proper 3DTV with their glasses...?

@hexarith hmmm this is why I think 3d is crap, it's such a novelty... which I don't mind but it's an expensive one.

@Ceniza666 eyes are in right-left arrangement indeed, so that you can do a quick cross-eye preview using ordinary media players.
