oh and java moss is also good! but it grows soooooo quick....they mate in it andwhen eggs hatch they stay under the java moss soo they cant get attacked
my white clouds are courting and possibly mating i have a 55-60l tank and 2 cabomba plants (they love) and a plant i dont know its name.....i feed the live frozen food 2-3 times a week and thats a mix of daphnia blood worms and artemia (brine shrimp)and flake foods....they thrash in and out of the cabomba you need hard water and water temp 20-24c and ph of 6-8 you also need a plant of cabomba or two and/or a clump of oxygenating plant like in this vid.............. all the best.....sprouty
They were spawning about every 3-5 weeks that first year. I only saved the eggs twice - I raised about 80 to adulthood. I didn't have a teast kit then but my nitrates were probably high because I had a lot of algae in the tank as well - a sign that nitrates are high. White clouds prefer cool, hard water, with lots of rocks and plants.
We have hard water and high PH (82 -84) so that might be a factor. After the fry were free swimming I transferred them to a 20g round tub with no filter or heater - just an airstone with tiny gentle bubbles moving softly. For food I chopped fresh spinach added some of the tank water and let in the sun for a couple of days - stirred it up and fed the fry with an eyed dropper full of spinach soup several times a day.
