I've only been doing sit-downs by popping the clutch but it doesn't work every time (I have race compound tires and when you do it cold the tires won't hold so I ended up doing rolling burnouts by accident :D) but I've never tried the bounce and gas method. how big is your bike? I have a 600rr. trying to figure out the best rpm and way to get it up that is the smoothest and won't murder my bike.

a 1000cc modern sportsbike can bump wheelie in 3rd easily with the right revs..no clutch....

Clutch wheelies are good for keeping ya revs low and to get to the Balance point quicker,better for slow wheelies...

keep in mind i have a 1 tooth down in the front and two teeth up in the rear. makes the bike more torqy. i pulled it up in 2nd. basically 1st gear you can use to pull it up to about 35 mph. above that to like 70 i use 2nd gear. and for interstate wheelies 70+ i pull it up using 3rd gear. just remember the faster your going the harder the bike springs up with the wind.

1 down sprocket in the front 2 up in the rear. yosh pipe and i did a little bit of suspension tweeking with the shock adjusters. i set them to a magazine i read that stiffened it up for road coarses. it seems to work the best
