  • @tidusxlue

Not really true. Proto-Tai were Ancient Lao people. Without the Old Lao, they're be no Tai race.

  • A dollar bill worth $1,000,000.00 in circulation check your wallet now!

  • In Laos, 'Thai' means 'People of'. If you go to Laos, you will know the Lao call themselves 'Thai' as 'Thai-Vientiane', 'Thai-luarng-pra-barng', 'Thai-nheuar', 'Thai-dtuy' and so son. They will say 'Thai-bangkok' too. But, the Lao will not say 'Thai-Phnom-penh' and 'Thai-Saigon'. The actual 'Bath' (money) now was used by the Luang-prabang kingdom many hundred years ago in the age of Fa-geum.

  • Thank you!

Most of Thai as myself understand the rylics.

There are some words that are different than modern Thai but we can easily undertand the rylics though its context. Thank you for posting it.

  • 122 B.C. - The small Kingdom of Ai-lao is formed by Tai inhabitants

in Yunnan and Tai migrants from territories earlier settled by Tai's but then conquered by Chinese armies. Already at this stage, a tendency is to move southwards to evade Chinese pressure. However, the Tai's at that early time did not flee from Chinese rule as a complete group or as an

expelled nation. Parts of the Tai populations remained in Chinese-ruled

    areas.

  • I am very delightful to hear a young generation attempting to learn about their cultural and linguistic heritage. Historically, our heritage started in Sipsongpanna and we were driven to Southward because of having lost in fighting. Last few days ago, one of my international students from Sipsonganna came to see me and I spoke a Lao language to her and she responded back to me in Lao and was able to fully comprehend what she was saying.

  • @SaoLaos2000

Tai-Lao is the same thing. Its interchangeable. Sipsongpanna are just the same people as the people of Laos, Northern/Northeastern Thailand that speak different dialect. During the French occupant, they stripped Lan Xang land to different kingdoms and whatever was leftover, the french name it Laos. Sipsongpanna was Lan Xang territory before the french came.

  • @L0CC2o9

I am learn more about our history. Thank you for letting me know.

  • @SaoLaos2000

No problem. We're all related, the Dai, Tai, Lao, Lue, Zhuang but that doesnt include the "Thai Siam" (Bangkok people). So when people say Lao and Thai are alike, they usually mean Lanna(Northern Thailand) and Isan(Northeastern Thailand) that are alike to the people on the eastern bank of the Mekong. Our people are stretch from Guangxi, Northwest Vietnam, Laos, North&Northeast Thailand, Shan State, Assam and Yunnan.

  • @L0CC2o9

You seem to know so much about our race. I think you should write the book about our race. I will support ur book. Thanks

  • @L0CC2o9

I found a book from Amazon Contesting Visions of the Lao Past: Laos Historiography at the Crossroads. It is very good info. Check it out.

  • Chinese destroy and, seperated our family so we moved south and started two new kingdom.

Lanxang and Lanna. Long live to all Tai

  • Awsome and beautiful music and the song

    I love so much

  • The Peking Chinese adore Sipsongpunna as Pearl Of China. That is because of the Green (forest). The Central power too protects Sipsongpanna as a precious heritage!

  • This only way the red chineses communist will .We missed you so much now we wanted to moving down here with you?Bcause i'm your ancestries don't you know? i acn test our dna to match it ?Let's move to thailand stay there with our long lost brothers.

  • I've never been there! Whatever I see in this Video is very beautiful. The singer has very clear voices. I am Thai & live near Bangkok. I understand a little bit of the language. I studied history & found that we left Sipsongpanna & moved to the South, where we have changed our language: Writing similar to Pali & Sanskrit, but speaking we have used the same tones. The music is very beautiful & closer to Chinese. It is really sweet. I want to see my beloved brothers & sisters there very soon.

  • I belief the singer name is Ee Inh meaning Miss Inh in Thai

I am Thai but I understand what she was singing especially her other songs such as Dao Kou Duan and Sharv-Meuang-Long

Somewords are pronounced exactly how the Thai would pronounce them these days.

This is amazing to me.... Thanks for the posting

  • Similar to Tai Chieng Mai . . . hince the name Chieng (City) Mai (New) ...which was established by business men/women from Tai Sipsongpanna..hint the language, writing scripts, dressing are practically the same.

  • All you Buckhumnoyee listen; these people are our ancestor. Example;

    No Word in Eng= NO

    In Lao= Bor

    In Thai= Mik

In Tai= Buohw our ancestor pronunciation

Most of the hard core Tai bloodline still uses this word "Buohw" as of "NO", except us modern Tai People Today like Laos and Thai. We had twisted our mother tongue and our leaders never take time to show us. Most of our leaders are too busy chasing Young Skirts and have no ideas of the ramification.

  • Dear Taimuongtean,

If you go to Luangprabarng, if people say to you:Mi-mee, that means No more.

Do you know the Lao call themselves Thai.

  • I know, I've been there several times already. The city of LuongPhraBang was found by our Tai Prince; Khun Lo or Khun Lor in between the 600-700's. Intuitively, I have a strong believe is the 700's, 600's is debatable...God bless all Tai nationals

  • @apochi4179 : EXCELLENT REMARK.

BRAVO. GO AHEAD IN LEARNING LAO HISTORY.

JOIN EACHOTHER TO REBUILD OUR LANE XANG DYNASTY.

    BE PROUD.

  • @apochi4179 noup.Lao people never call themself THAI OK.we called tai its mean for the people where they from LIKE tai lue or tai vientian ok

  • @taimuongtean Mik? lol its Mi

  • @taimuongtean I hope this is not a case of who are more tai. I was born in Thailand and even though I was taught to right Thai or ไทย in my heart it always Tai or ไทใ

People've made necessary change to suite circumstances they were facing at different times. To say out right blaming younger generation it's just plain wrong. We adults need to do more to help them not to condemn without reason. I still use Bor or Buohw in my Thai posting when audiences are from the north or isan.

  • Sorry if my comments are not useful. Once, I talked to the Lue in China. Same tone as the Lao. But some words are different. People that call themselves as Tai in Kungming, they say Nen (to sleep)for Norn in Lao. One ay see that Nen is different from Norn. But, academically, the same. Dam in Vt = Lam in Pakse.

  • Ai-lao shan (Mountain) is just north of Phongsaly. But, Lao-shan(s) in Dali (North Yunnan, and other regions in China for example, a Laoshan in Shianghai.

  • Mai Soong Kha Pi Nong Tai!

    Taihatharn(Brave Tai)

  • Maybe we have to listen deeper.... beside it been almost a couple of thousand years since we all dispered from the Ai-Lao mountain...

But for my self I am beginning to pick here n there the vary accent in tone ...:)

    LHK

  • it sounds almost chinese, lol.

  • I understood all of Tai lue songs I have listen to on youtube so far except this one. Her accent is really bad for me and she doesn't make it easy to understand either. The songs sounds like gom nong to sleep or sing for kid to sleep type of song
