@Anim3fr3ak100 it does? I mean 808's wasn't his best work, but it still had meaning. Kanye know what he's doin. His shit isn't all around the place like Lil Wayne
@Anim3fr3ak100 i feel ya man. Its all about taste, and really, I don't support that mainstream crap. Mainly because too many people get into it and forget what Hip Hop is about. Its a way of expressing the ghetto, its not all about flashy cars, women and bling. Nas, Lil Eazy E, The Game, Common, Kanye, and Rakim taught me this.
Listen to the album....Trust me 808's is a good album...If you you're a fan of Indie music, Synth Pop and Electronica you'll probably enjoy it as much as I did...Kanye just needed to get some shit off of his chest but he couldn't do it with Hip Hop.
@UltraKid808 do you think his new album will be back to that old stuff he did? College Dropout, Late Registration were dope as fuck. Graduation was tight, but not as good. 808s i listened to and i wasn't a fan. No hating but i knew he was better than that man.
Nope...Kanye never sticks to the same style...so no his new album will not be like his old stuff...It's completly new but the only albums I can compare to at the moment is Graduation and 808's...I only compare it to 808's because of the tribal sounds featured in some of the tracks like Power and Lost in the World...
@UltraKid808 actually one of the producers working on his album said he's going back to his roots and leaving the electro sound. Idk if he is referring to "My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy" or the one that's supposed to come out afterwards.
@UltraKid808 That's insane bro. "Through the Wire" is nowhere near mainstream in its content and lyricism even if it was popular to the point where it appeared mainstream.
@JZA1987 Freshman Transitions wasn't mainstream. uhm... The College Dropout was originally non-mainstream, until he was noticed on Jesus Walks. Late Registration wasn't mainstream either, until he was noticed for Gold Digger and Diamonds
@JZA1987 well, all his albums weren't mainstream until he was recognized for Jesus Walks (in which it took them 2 years to find it since Kanye basically had College Dropout done in 2002 but that almost fatal accident he had pushed the release date back, making him more famous).
Late Registration was Mainstream...Kanye had so much hype behind him at the time and as you can see if the album wasn't mainstream then he couldn't afford the orchestras or expensive videos for his songs. He wouldn't even be able to afford Jon Brion. Every one of his albums was Mainstream.

@UltraKid808 he has not always been mainstream. "Through The Wire" is nowhere close to that. That was pure passion and soul in that song.
cisseusa123 1 year ago
@cisseusa123,
Through the Wire was Mainstream like the rest of College Dropout plus that same passion is in all of his albums...
