The state bird of Louisiana! These birds were almost extinct in Louisiana by the 60's due to DDT and habitat loss. Now they're thriving along the coastline and in Lake Pontchartrain in the New Orleans area. I see these guys almost everytime I cross the lake going to New Orleans.

The sirens do seem to be a background sound in many of my videos!
Fortunately, the police and ambulances are going past the Zoo, not coming into it!
