Rotwielers have a natural herding instinct? Don't know about that. But cows have a natural trample the dog to death instinct. If he'd slipped in the mud......game over for Fido i'm afraid. Don't take such risks with such a nice dog.
@leffehoegaarden These cows are around dogs all the time. That's how they are rounded up for milking twice a day. In all my years I have never seen a dog trampled by a cow.
@TheWerwulfinme There is a bull in there, for the purpose of breeding with the heifers that are also in there.. in order for them to produce milk after the calves have been born. Hasn't this been a lovely lesson in dairy farming :)
@Cheeki1972 Yes well obviously. You don't worry each time you at an potatoe either even though you could choke to death on it. Its most likely not gonna happen. But theres that one little voice inside all of us that says "but what if...". Take care of the dogs, cause they take care of you. Love em. ;)
my rotty used to harass out horse alot .. just barking and trying to herd him i guess .. one day the horse got a lucky kick in a caught him in the teeth .. dog lost his four front teeth and it wouldve been much worse if it was full contact so be careful with his eh
@keanetobin Yep I hear that. Have been kicked by milking cows myself plenty of times, so I know the feeling lol.. although the dogs are quicker than I am.

um aint it suppose to be the other way around instead of the cows chasing the dog aint the dog suppose to be chasing them just asking but i do have to say funny as all get out
This made me laugh so hard. Maybe the rotti was trying a different strategy for herding the cows. Instead of I chase them, get them to chase me. Plus for anyone who doesn't know this rottis were orginally bred for herding so this isn't actually dangerous. Plus the rotti can run a LOT faster than that.
Yep that they do! They (Rotties) where kind of made to be a multi purpose dog. They were to do herding, pulling larger carts into market for the framer and protecting the family! I have seen one get a thousand pound Bull in a pen!! They just get a bad wrap!
The Rottweiler is a medium to large size breed of domestic dog that originated in Rottweil, Germany. The dogs were known as "Wurttemberger butchers' dogs" (German: Württemberger Metzgerhund) because they were used to herd livestock and pull carts laden with butchered meat and other products to market
Haha, this is too cute. I LOVE Rottweilers. I had 2. They are the best dog breed EVER. Lol but I thought the Rottie was supposed to heard the cows, not the other way around. ;) Too cute.

Geez, any rotty owner can tell he was having a ball and playing!! what with the negative comments?? Anywho, gorgeous boy you have there!! My rotty girl is petrified of cows..lol
@7961640 Person being okay with the known fact that animals kill each other all the time, rages when a cattle gets close to a dog. Retard logic! Sorry if you didn't take your pills buddy.
@7961640 of course man is a hunter, what else you dumb fuck? "Put him in a field with tigers" shows your ignorance right there, who is ruling this planet, tigers or people? Stupid cunt.

there are no bad dogs, only bad owners, dogs learn their behaviour from their owners. example, we have 3 dogs, a maltese shitzu cross, a rotty/shepard/arabbull/mastiffX and a wolfhoundXmastiff pup and they are well behaved, docile, heck, even my 4yrold son gives the dogs hell and they're like 'meh', we treat them as members of the family and discipline from and early age so they know what is acceptable
@KLP2566 google is your friend... see what goes along with having a Rottie.. the decision is yours really.. would be hard for me to comment not knowing you :)
@KLP2566 don't get a rottie. They are by nature unpredictable and NOT a good guard dog. Want a effective guard dog, great family pet and companion? Get a Anatolian Shepherd.
I'd advise against it. Powerful breeds like Rotties are not a good choice for a first time dog owner. They need a great amount of socializing, training and a firm hand in rearing. Owners unfamiliar with dog behavious and body language can easily miss warning signs, and with a dog as big as a Rottie the last thing you want is for it to get out of your control.
They are definitely great and beautiful dogs, but very challenging.
@KLP2566 I had a rottie as a first dog. The breeders will recommend that you get a female, because males can be more of a challenge. Are you thinking about getting a rottweiler puppy and raising it yourself or a older dog?
