Live Like We're Dying was a huge radio hit, Alright With Me was used for months in a car commercial, and I Need to Know was featured on The Vampire Diaries, one of the most popular shows on television right now. @CanNotBeScene. Last time I checked, you don't reay hear from the runners up either. The peopple we still hear about are Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, David Cook, and Jordin Sparks. Adam and Kris both have about the same amount of popularity. When's the last time you heard from Clay Aiken? Or Cyrstal Bowersox? To me, the only people you hear about that were on American Idol at all we Clarkson, Underwood, Cook, and Sparks. Other than those few, I don't hear much of anyone else.

Am i the only one that has noticed that most of the second and sometimes even third place finishers have a better career after idol then the first place finishers. My favorite Version of my Favorite song
You can't even compare their styles so how can you say Adam isn't a true musician. Last time I checked his album sold out at three international Virgin Music stores and Kris' album is on the shelf at walgreens next to no named artist . Most musicians, show makers or not are true musicians ... Of course not all but those are people who are just terrible disgraces . Adam is real he just likes to also pit on a show .
Stop it with the "he should of won!" First, is spelled "should've" and then check out "Ain't no Sunshine" by Kris, at the finale it was better than Adam's "Mad World". Comparing those two performances, I can easily see how millions of people could have said: Kris is a true musician, Adam was just a showman. And yes it was at the finale, so smart move there. So just understand that's why Kris won, otherwise Adam is superior and has shown is a bigger artist now.
I'm 15, and I've always been bullied for my love of music, people saying I'm pathetic for it, using the word "gay" as an insult, though offending me nonetheless. I really want to get back at these people, not with violence or anything like that - i want to get back by doing what I love. I'd appreciate anyone who takes the time to check out my cover, and it'd be great if you could thumbs this up. The more hits I get, The closer I am to my dream of showing people not to be afraid of who you are.

That season of American Idol had to be the best I had ever watched. Just because Adam was a contestant! Voted for him every time I had the chance. Had my family vote for him even though they don't watch American Idol. He has talent. One of the excuses of him not winning was that he was gay? Stupidest excuse ever. He's a great singer and people were just stereotyping. Yeah, Kris Allen was pretty good, too, but in my opinion Adam should have won. <3
I think Adam asked them to give Kris the win. #1- Losing did not hurt him one bit. #2- Kris wouldn't have gone anywhere if he lost, and Adam had a bit of a crush on him. This way they both win. #3- I took a bunch of polls before this finale on who people thought would win, Adam easily took them. #4- In season ten's opening, they show all the winners plus Adam, which is funny and makes sense. #5- Adam was the first ever (and only) former contestant to come back and mentor. He's by far the best!

First of all, I don't think he could just "ask them to give Kris the win"...secondly, you polling a bunch of people doesn't seem objective, because your audience is just people you know, who probably agree with you about him. Adam was clearly the best I agree there, but I predicted Kris would win as soon as Danny got voted off. think of their styles...all of Danny's voters automatically went to Kris because their styles were similar. with danny/kris/adam in the final three, it was clear adam wasn't going to win, even though he was the best. simply because his style is completely different then the other 2 very similar styles.

The problem with this particular performance is that at this point his performances became all about the show and less about the raw emotion. The first time he performed this song on Idol it was one of the most haunting things I had ever seen and by the time he got down to the finals it was about the smoke machine and the clothes and all that other junk that isn't essential. Had he not bought into his own persona I think he would have won.
It was for the best that he didn't win. If he had won, he would have been stuck into a contract and such with American Idol. He wouldn't have a decision. Because he placed where he did, he was put out there for all these other record deals. Look where he is now. He's an incredible singer. Being gay shouldn't have been anything to do whether he won or not. In my opinion, he did win. Just not offically, <3

@TheGuitarJuice No, due to voting anomalies Kris Allen won. But you watch the Finale with Queen when they sing side by side and you know right away who is the superstar. Queen, Kiss,and all the judges thought Adam should have won on merit. Comparative record and concert sales since that time have since validated that view. Kris mostly opens for bigger acts while Adam's becoming an international star. No comparison press coverage-wise & things like no. of magazine covers.
I respect Aiden's interpretation of the song he really made but Adam's voice bleeds the emotion of this song, both performances are great in their own way.
I can respect people preferring Aiden's interpretation over Adam's even though both are valid (Keep in mind that Gary Jules himself praised Adam's 1st cover). However, any technical vocal analysis by a trained ear will find many more flaws in Aiden's performance vs. Adam's two. There was arguably more passion in Aiden's cover but it was destroyed by what came across as hideous facial tics and clumsy body motions. That was truly an off night for an otherwise great singer (Aiden Grimshaw).
@Tianguo2012 the 'hideous facial tics' and 'clumsy body motions' made the performance what it was, it made it full of emotion and aiden was completely engaged in the song, it was not at 'off night' at all and arguably one of the best performances of that show and of that song, and that is without a question of a doubt,.

Last time I checked his album sold out at three international Virgin Music stores and Kris' album is on the shelf at walgreens next to no named artist . Most musicians, show makers or not are true musicians ... Of course not all but those are people who are just terrible disgraces . Adam is real he just likes to also pit on a show .

Stop it with the "he should of won!" First, is spelled "should've" and then check out "Ain't no Sunshine" by Kris, at the finale it was better than Adam's "Mad World". Comparing those two performances, I can easily see how millions of people could have said: Kris is a true musician, Adam was just a showman. And yes it was at the finale, so smart move there. So just understand that's why Kris won, otherwise Adam is superior and has shown is a bigger artist now.

I'm 15, and I've always been bullied for my love of music, people saying I'm pathetic for it, using the word "gay" as an insult, though offending me nonetheless. I really want to get back at these people, not with violence or anything like that - i want to get back by doing what I love. That season of American Idol had to be the best I had ever watched. Just because Adam was a contestant! Voted for him every time I had the chance. Had my family vote for him even though they don't watch American Idol. He has talent. One of the excuses of him not winning was that he was gay? Stupidest excuse ever. He's a great singer and people were just stereotyping. Yeah, Kris Allen was pretty good, too, but in my opinion Adam should have won. <3

I think Adam asked them to give Kris the win. #1- Losing did not hurt him one bit. #2- Kris wouldn't have gone anywhere if he lost, and Adam had a bit of a crush on him. This way they both win. #3- I took a bunch of polls before this finale on who people thought would win, Adam easily took them. #4- In season ten's opening, they show all the winners plus Adam, which is funny and makes sense. #5- Adam was the first ever (and only) former contestant to come back and mentor. He's by far the best!

First of all, I don't think he could just "ask them to give Kris the win"...secondly, you polling a bunch of people doesn't seem objective, because your audience is just people you know, who probably agree with you about him. Admittedly, Adam is quite talented. But so was Kris (obviously). It was a very good contest. I'm glad they both competed. They're awesome.

Adam was clearly the best I agree there, but I predicted Kris would win as soon as Danny got voted off. think of their styles...all of Danny's voters automatically went to Kris because their styles were similar. with danny/kris/adam in the final three, it was clear adam wasn't going to win, even though he was the best. simply because his style is completely different then the other 2 very similar styles.

@hazzathemazza actually, the best normally wins second because then they can chose what record company they want and then they don't have to have a contract. Think about it, how much have you heard (hold on i have to google this...) kriss allan compared to Adam Lambert? They do it on purpose, the only one they didn't do that on was Kelly Clarkson!

The problem with this particular performance is that at this point his performances became all about the show and less about the raw emotion. The first time he performed this song on Idol it was one of the most haunting things I had ever seen and by the time he got down to the finals it was about the smoke machine and the clothes and all that other junk that isn't essential. Had he not bought into his own persona I think he would have won.

It was for the best that he didn't win. If he had won, he would have been stuck into a contract and such with American Idol. He wouldn't have a decision. Because he placed where he did, he was put out there for all these other record deals. Look where he is now. He's an incredible singer. @TheGuitarJuice No, due to voting anomalies Kris Allen won. But you watch the Finale with Queen when they sing side by side and you know right away who is the superstar. Queen, Kiss,and all the judges thought Adam should have won on merit. Comparative record and concert sales since that time have since validated that view. Kris mostly opens for bigger acts while Adam's becoming an international star. No comparison press coverage-wise & things like no. of magazine covers.

I can respect people preferring Aiden's interpretation over Adam's even though both are valid (Keep in mind that Gary Jules himself praised Adam's 1st cover). However, any technical vocal analysis by a trained ear will find many more flaws in Aiden's performance vs. Adam's two. There was arguably more passion in Aiden's cover but it was destroyed by what came across as hideous facial tics and clumsy body motions. That was truly an off night for an otherwise great singer (Aiden Grimshaw).
