Actually they just established the new JSF training base in my home of Florida. They have big plans for it. Its going to replace the F-16's and F/A-18's. Each branch of the military will get their own varient.

@1337Flyboy vertical takeoff is still being developed further with the f-35. Right now its rather contraversial and it has problems with other variables such as wind but they got it to work decent and its on its way.
