Thats how my boxer wound up a "sleep in my bed" dog. lol  She had kannel cough ads a pup really bad. Brought her to the vet they gave her a big injection of monoxonyl I believe it was called and pills for a few days. Shed be able to sleep as long as she was against me and breathe ok, but as soon as I put her on the floor in her bed 10 minutes later shed wake up, cry and start havin fits- so after 3 days it was history-both the kennel cough AND my bed being all mine.

aww she is sooo cute. My little Weimaraner 10 wk old female pup has Kennel Cough. I cringe every time i hear the weezing and hacking. But she eats great, has lots of energy, plays, etc. She's an active trouble maker. The dog in the video here looks like a poor helpless little baby. I feel so bad. I hope she's well, and getting into energetic puppy trouble. Bless her heart.

I am so glad Katie is better, We had a boxer named "Molly" (she died at 5 but not from this)that had the same thing and it is bad for a few days but it will pass if treated correctly. It can turn into pneumonia also if you are not careful. WE LOVE THIS BREED! We have a new baby named "Roxie" - she will be 1 year old 8/6/2008 and just like Katie she is very entertaining and a graet friend!

when i got my bubby from the pound she was 5 years old but she was inside the puppy pen because she had kennel cough and had to be isolated

cause she had kennel cough the RSPCA kept her an extra week because they wanted to give her a chance to find a home

luckilly we picked her up before she was going to be put down ^_^

i fed her yucky red medicine through a seringe for two weeks!

Kennel cough is fairly common in all dogs. Just go to the vet right away and they will give the dog a vaccine and all will be fine!

Even if your dog gets kennel cough before a vaccine, the vet can still take care of it. No worries!

Not really sure, but my guess would be it usually forms from being aruond a bunch of other dogs who have those kinds of germs/sicknesses, hench "kennel" cough. But that's just a guess. We didn't get Katie from a kennel so we're not sure how she got it.

The vaccine doesn't cover all the different strains. Kennel cough is just like a human cold. It isn't dangerous unless it gets really bad.

Of course we know, stupid. She started coughing the weekend we got her (when this video was shot). We took her to the vet shortly after she started coughing and she was fine. We suspect the previous owner didn't take as good of care of her as we are doing. Don't call me stupid.

A lot of dog breeds (especially the smaller ones) have breathing issues, so your mother's dog could just be fine. Would never hurt to have it checked out though I suppose
