k Numb nuts this is a Rotax 100cc direct drive engine ,I should know cos I got one on my Simon Wright Kart,Its an early Reed valve engine with the old Righetti air box mounted to the front ,It certainly aint a TKM ,I also should know as my 2 girls race TKM ,Rotax have been producing Engines for decades for all different machines Kart engines being one of their many applications ,these engines are used mainly by the Legends or Vintage classes now but will and I mean WILL keep up with a Rotax Max
Okay fuckers. THIS IS A ROTAX. I know this because I raced one for about 6 years. Get over it, it is a ROTAX. Reed valve, 100cc, 18,000+ rpm AWESOME FUN. Shits all over my Rotax Max.
Hi everyone: I have a 100cc Rotax Kart. This Karts engine evident in the video is exactly like that, the acoustics are identical and so is the exhaust plus everything else. This is a 100cc Rotax engine
I am pretty sure it is a Rotax, and not a Yamaha 100cc. Like what harryf965 said, when people hear rotax they think the Rotax Max. By the look and sound, it is a Rotax 100cc rotary. All these motors look the same though, whether it be the rotax 100cc, the vortex, DAP, comer, komet or parilla.
@kartingaddict Yeah right on its actually a reed valve rotax the rotary valve engine has a side mount carb this is a front mount carb with a righetti air box
You guys have no idea, this engine is indeed a rotax. It looks like an older aircooled ica engine. Rotaxes now are completely different, before these engines used to be the norm. Rotax makes alot of different engines, not just kart engines btw. That is a direct drive rotax 100cc has about 18,000 rpm.
people who have jumped into rotax maxs wont believe this is a rotax ( i dont know if this is ) but yeah. anyways i love the sound of the 100cc karts at 18k rpm. I prefer my 100cc ital and 100cc pcr to my rotax and biland anyday ( i have 1 chassis and lots of engines we picked up cheap )
This is def a Rotax, it looks to me like a 87 reed valve model. Rotax also made piston port 100cc aircooled engines until the mid 90's. For all u ppl who wanna post dumb stuff, why dont u just shut the fuck up. Just because u havnt seen one urself dosnt mean the dont exist. good looking old kart mate.
To kraka495 Rotax did make 100cc engines, TAG simply means Touch and go, its not an engine manufacturer, its just a way a clutched kart starts like rotax maxes.
All u lot r fukin stupid, i build karts and there are atleast 60 different types of 100cc aircooled engine. It is not a fukin ica or jica its a 100cc aircooled rotax and i know from the head of the engine, so dont comment on what u dont know shit bout.
u obviously dont know shit! if u think thats a rotax, than i dont know how u managed to build karts, and whats this shit about at least 60 water cooled engines...you name me have and i might belive that
i can tell by the pipe and the fact that its an aircooled 100cc 2-stroke its a jica. its also direct drive u can tell by how it shuts off. sound of the motor as well for sure a jica.
This has been flagged as spam show
how long and wide are the full size karts i need to know asap thank you

I have got the exact same engine as this, It is a Rotax DSB. How did you bump start it on the stand and get it to idle??
olliebob2 6 months ago
It doesn't look like the same rotax 100cc I had. The cylinder head wasn't rounded in the back, it was squared off. They sound similar though.

Exciting!!
Like the Veyron of karting?
Well. After 7 years of driving those and now a 2 stroker I can finally get back to 4 stroking because they are so much faster then a year back ago 0-0
VinnyLegends 3 years ago
r u being sarcastic?
popcornreviews 3 years ago
Yep
VinnyLegends 3 years ago
4 strokes are fun, you are being silly!
popcornreviews 3 years ago
I drove them for 7 long years. They became hugely boring.
VinnyLegends 3 years ago
two strokes feel like they are about to pop and are really noisy and unreliable!
popcornreviews 3 years ago
The noise is the nice thing. That gets your adrenaline pumping. And they are very reliable in their own class.
VinnyLegends 3 years ago
they sound like strimmers and they are as reliable as a meerkat!
popcornreviews 3 years ago
four strokes sound and feel really lazy and dont slide half as much as two strokes (except when they understeer *yawn*) XD
