Grand Central ran a few trains like this in passenger service untill they were told it was against regulations as they did not have enough brake force to stop in the required distance from 125 mph They sure had lots of acceleration though

When GC came into operation in 2008, they used old HST/Class 43 stock. They've since been replaced by brand new DMUs

At Fareham station once i saw a class 43 locomotive pulling network rail yellow low loaders, carrying sleepers, rails and ballast. unusual to see a class 43 at fareham and evan more so to see it hauling freight rolling stock
