Some people NEED a full sized SUV and, thus, need a V8 with more torque, power, and towing capacity. Having a hybrid option for such a car is a great idea. Construction companies for example who need to haul or carry a large payload can now do so creating less emissions.

We had the '09 Escalade Hybrid for a while, I still don't like the cvt, sounds cool. But really is kinda annoying, like having a slipping tranny, not direct power to the wheels, which seems to make it slower. Still loved driving it though.

@RabbitGTI25 it's a CVT, it stays at max RPM the whole time, or at least the ones i've seen have. Guy floored it in his altima (i was sitting next to him) and he had the CVT. The tachometer just stayed at about 6.5k RPM the whole time, no shifting.

Nice sounding ride. I like the new body style chevys but I'll tell you the 96 350 vortec I have is a great combo also and I hate to leave it behind for something newer. I just did the 0 - 60 run in my truck and it ran it in 8.14 seconds, check the video on my channel for the proof. Highway mileage is consistently 17, 14 around town.
