@yokrazy - the song is by Ana Kulaia. When I was given the song to use it was simply called "Bessie's song" - but I have since seen it with the title, "I will be there".
MALIE FAIVA!!! keep it up......Today and Tomorrow's generation of tongans will appreciate that we finally have a video that recognizes our people. especially in the states.
Im not Tongan but if you are short of people working on your next project, you should try posting/advertise auditions in acting school around Sydney. There are heaps in Auckland but I guess your project is based on the Australian experience, but then again logisitcs would be a pain. You can try advertsing at UNSW (COFA campus) or NIDA (National Institute of Dramatic Arts) in Sydney (you might find P.I students there) . Theres a few of us studying at UNSW but not in dramatic arts :)
Are there any plans for the future??? I'm a half Tongan half white guy from the states and man I got too many stories about not fitting in... Moving to Canberra for the first time etc... So if you do plan on anything in the future and need any ideas... Truly let me know ;) good job though... And good luck...
If you're interested in buying a dvd to help support this project - check out the facebook page for the project for more info!! or go to kalofoleti website
I'm not Tongan, I'm actually half Samoan haha. I wish I could've seen this but I was in NZ when the screening happened. Does anyone know if it'll it be on dvd?
Thank you oh so much for turning things around for Polynesians, especially the Tongan community! Hopefully the Tongans here in the united states will recognize that they are somebody and that they can be someone. I so hope someone courageous enough will stand up and make a change in the Tongan community here in the US. Thank you so much for your inspiration. I'm sure you will reap the blessings. (:
ahhhh!!! So excited for this!!! It's nice to see Polys branching out. I can't wait to see where this goes. Wishing you the best with this journey of yours. Wish I could help =\ I've always wanted Tongans to break in to film. 'ofa atu from the states
Thanks guys. For those in Syndey you can find out details for the screening in Sydney on June 24th by going to the indiegogo website and searching The Tongans Film Project. :-)
