@TheRogueMonk I'm using ableton light right now .. I'm interested in VSTs from native instruments like massive and razor so for that i want to get logic instead of upgrading my ableton lite. ableton is more complex in my opinion but you do get session view wich is a FANTASTIC feature. every DAW will have the same outcome . it just depends on your workflow and opinion on the features. logic is better for your money (in my opinion I'm far from an expert) simple and effective i would go with logic
@petermarronmusic right now im using cubase on a macbook pro and im very satisfied, maybe later ill try pro logic 9 but im pretty content with cubase.
i plan to record guitars and bass make songs with drums and vocals, dub step progressive house, I've used fl studio as a kind of introduction to DAW software for about a year , learning different things, Would Logic Studio be worth it, as i am still getting used to using parameters and effects and stuff but i plan on putting real time and effort into learning how to use it ?
Does Mac book pro 13'' i7 version suite for logic studio?
I want to transfor pc to mac.
but i don't know about mac.
i produce trance music. usually use about 10 VSTi(like FM8, Massive, sylenth 1, kontakt 4, absynth 5) & Virus Ti2 & 25 MIDI track & 10 audio track & use about 2 reverb, 4 delay, some 8EQ, 6 transient design plugins.
I got into Logic Studio 8 in my college courses and since 2008, Logic Studio 8 Academic is all I've ever had. I realize now getting into music for video games, I'm going to have to get the full retail version if I want to make any money on my music, correct? Aren't there legal reasons?
I'd hardly say making exs patches out of regions or parts on the arrange was a nightmare. Open EXS24 on unused track> edit > new zone > drag the object from the arrange into the page above the keyboard at the bottom of the exs window. Set range of the sample up and down the keyboard, set it to 1 shot or not and save. Doesnt take more than 2 minutes lol. But that new feature is definetly very useful, looking forward to upgrading to 9!
@wolfman109h been using logic for just one year but quite happy with it. hip hop, rnb, techno, dance. its really great. if u use a lot of midi, go for logic. if live recording, go straight to pro tools. cubase, never tried. these r my two DAW that perfect for me.
Comparing FL and Logic is extremely dumb. They are different in many aspects. Try to drop a beat, even a complex one, without any template in the two DAWs, while you will still be choosing your sounds on Logic, it will be already finished in FL, it's one of the quickest DAWs when it comes to instant composing, when you have sudden ideas Live is also good at that. They are more suited for "electronic music" if i can use this shortcut, Logic is an all-rounder and better for rec. edit. and mixing.
its great to have someone that is familiar with not only the software, but also music. a lot of ppl do reviews on this stuff nd hav no experience what so ever!?
I use to work some music with Fruity Loops (midi based) and I work with Logic now for year and a half and believe me..... it's like comparing TOY and a real RECORDING / EDITING / ARRANGING / MIXING /PROFESSIONAL SOUNDING software.
I use fl studio in music production because i use vsts and i don't record vocals, but i guess logic will be my main program when it comes to pro recording and editing
most ppl tell that FL Studio is like a toy but believe me or on I use it for almost 7 years now and I cant say that it is a toy because it can do almost everything you want , but the only weakness is the lack of Disk srtreaming for recording and tracklanes like Logic . so imo if you are a dance producer or hobiest type pro I say try FL Studio , but if you are more on recodings and hardware stuffs Logic pro , they have their own weakness . so it diffends on your skills and style good luck
OK...Sonicstate....A quick review on your tutorial. Excellent presentation, clear & concise, relevant information to a range of pertaining Logic users and is very professional. I am looking forward to tuning in to more of your tutorials 9.5/10
Hoping you can cover a tutorial on vocal effects...Rgds, Dan.
To the person asking about dictaphone recordings - sorry I hit remove instead of reply - there are a load of plugins with Logic that would help you enhance/restore recordings. So yes, it should work. But remember its Mac OS X only since version 5.0 - we are now at 9
Propellerheads new Record program, you can just change the tempo and the song slows down or speeds up with absolutely no change in the sound of the instruments at all.
If I download it from the App Store, is Mainstage 2 included?
