I taught myself how to play guitar aswell. I'd recommend that you start with chords (instead of tabs). You can find sites that have every chord on them :) Google search it! Hope this helps!

nah, i dont agree im afraid. doesnt matter which one u start with, tabs or chords. if u learn tabs u will automaticlly learn most of the chords but when you play chords you will have a hard time trying to figure out hammer-on, pull-offs and picking.
