Spike would'nt have crossed the road to spit at Thatcher . On the other hand you'd never know with Spike eh ;)?

England went too far to the right with Thatcher but not as far as the USA went with Bush . Thatcher never got more than 40% approx of British votes but it was enough . North of a line from Bristol to the Wash -Maggie was as popular as a Jew in Baghdad .

She oversaw the financialisation of the UK economy which continued with Blair and which has led to the present mess !

@IrishDubliner99 Thatcher didn't get 40% of the vote. This was the proportion of those who bothered to vote and voted for their Conservative Party candidate, as we have a representative democracy. (well, sort of)

I didn't vote for her, either, as I was too young, but I wouldn't have anyway, as she stole my milk.
