Dood you can get aquarium pumps all day long for 4 bucks at wal mart. Perfect for 5 gallon bucket setups. You can also buy triple outlet air pumps, so you can run air to 3 different bucket setups, from one air pump.
a dripper system that uses media that holds more water will save you water in the long run and nutrients. non recirculating system allow you use smaller resovoir. in dwc you end up throwing away lots of unused water and is very labour intensive where as in a system which use media you use less water and dont waste anything. i would rather use more growing media than empy resovoirs all the time. personally emptying resovoirs is more work. clay pebbles dont absorb much moisture
hi i have a question, my question is would putting a drip as you did on the pumps end, would it reduce the life span of the pump? i think since the pump will be pushing the water and building up pressure, that would be forcing the pump to work hardy or in a long run damage the pump since the pump is pushing the water but not having really no place to go but back in to the pump????? is any of that right, or am i wrong?
@The831Z Thanks for the question. The pumps are designed to not allow the build up of back pressure. If there is to much pressure then the pressure will vent from the intake.
