@dinelislam112 I do consider myself as higher in intellect due to the education I've had, but I do not claim to have better genes for example so I'm not better as a humanbeing. Yes, we've got an ego problem because we respond to silly theists, like yourself, who are making attacks against atheism/atheists and trying to replace science with fiction. @dinelislam112 Atheism is under attack everyday, for example atheists are not allowed to advertise themselves in the US without being sued by Christian groups, atheists are the most hated group in USA for just the basis that they are atheists. Most atheists do not "come out of the closet" due to being afraid of being discriminated in the US. Theists try to push creationism into science class as well, which is absurd. That's why atheists respond with books like richard dawkin's "God Delusion".

@Neea91 I think your over-exaggerating just a tad bit too much. I agree that Atheism doesn't have a good rep in the US, particularly in the Southern regions, however, the new Atheists have made their stance clear and have significant support. The West is practically secularized now, and plenty of people admit that they are Atheists -- at least in Canada. In fact, saying you are a theist has a very negative stigma attached: you're deluded ;).

That's a different case then, and I'll have to admit there is certainly evidence to back up the fact that they are amongst the most hated groups. I'd have to look into the research more thoroughly to be sure though (whether they are # 1 amongst the most hated group). Regardless, Dawkins book isn't intelligent, and is philosophically infantile. It achieves nothing.

He agrees, and you should check out his article in which he seriously criticizes the new Atheists for the lack of scholarship and academic merit of their new books, which are mostly diatribes full of emotive language and no real argumentation. I listen to Dawkins on occasion because of his evolutionary knowledge, not really because of his Islamic knowledge, which I've learned enough of for the 19 years of my life. Only a fool agrees 100% percent with the views of the people they listen to.

@Neea91 I don't know about dinelislam112, but as a Muslim I value science highly. I'm studying neuroscience (with a minor in philosophy, and hopefully physics soon) in university, which makes me value science even more. Most of all though - the Qur'an makes me value science, as it enjoins deep reflection, and the search for knowledge. This significantly contributed to the attitude amongst the Muslims during the Golden Age of Islam.

Yeah, evolution doesn't negate the existence of God. Read "The Anthropic Cosmological Principle" which lists 10 "transitory" stages of homosapiens. The odds of the human genome "evolving" into the next are 4 to the minus 180th power to 110,000th power, and 4 to the minus 360th power to the 110,000th power.

So if we accept evolution as fact, it would literally be a miracle and thus evidence for the existence of God.
