How can people generalize so much? Racing is racing! Good track, short track, long track, wet, dusty, whatever. A true racer, be he champion or not, will be able to race anywhere. And as for American tracks being too short to produce good racers in Europe. Well, Hamill, Ermolenko, Penhall, Milne, Hancock, would say otherwise. They all won World Speedway Championships. Shaun Moran was no slouch either. Sonny Nutter wasn't afraid to go to Europe either. It's all good. Speedway is awesome!!!!

speedway is like a hobby in the US, go have a good time but over in polland alot of guys have died... look at gollob.. he had some bad crashes and still up there with the best of them... takes balls to do that

I'd have to heavily disagree that "short tracks are harder to ride."

Personally i feel the bigger tracks can sometimes be the more tougher tracks to ride. I don't think American riders have no skill or anything of the sort... The tracks, i'm not sure how you can defend them... they look poor and i'm not just talking about this video... Euro tracks are set up quite well, except Grand Prix - theres no defending the setup of GP tracks!

Americans like a good show. I have watched Speedway live in Europe and the U.S. Short tracks make more wild action, that is true, but not because riders or tracks are poor. These cutting comments only illustrate the tendancy of Euros to go to the negative on any issue concerning the U.S., while missing their own. Too bad.

Tracks in California are actually prepared quite nicely, compared to many of the GP tracks in Europe. But short tracks (well under 200 meters) are very difficult to ride, and there are frequent crashes. Fortunately, the speeds are relatively slow, so there are few crippling injuries and no fatalities.

The americans set their tracks up so poorly, they really need to learn to put the dirt right because half of them catch a bit of soft dirt and hooks them up like mad, as seen in that video, especially for the size of the tracks theres too much dirt.

There has been speedway in the US since at least 1970, because I was there. Americans know how to set up tracks. This is a crash video, so you see more hook ups, etc. Also, short tracks are harder to ride than the bigger ones in Europe.

The majority of these accidents are due to the track not being big enough. Are there any full size speedway tracks in America? When the young Americans come over, they always struggle as they arent used to the bigger circuits. I remember Sam Ermolenko riding Longtrack (and winning) on 1000 metre circuits. You dont get the feeling that Chris Kerr, Tommy Heddon etc could do the same.

Its just a crash complation, not an actual event. I rarely see crashes at the Speedway I attend, no more than F1, moto gp, moto x or rallies

yes this speedway is good but i totally agree european spedway is much better. for 1 they no how to prepear the tracks, the american tracks are way to grippy thats why most of them crashes where off the back wheel. how big are the tracks? they look really small?

i hope greg hancock dose extremly well in the gps, this shows the greats that can come out of america and hope it continuses because they provide some of the best entertainment!!!
