The noise you people are experiencing are the awful pw4000 engines, not the A330 itself.
Fly on a RR trent powered A330 instead if you want silence. Then again I'm talking to Boeing fanboys: the most biased and uneducated avation "fans" on the planet.
@Foxx1981 Hey Foxx if I had the choice to chose what plane/engines I will be experiencing I totally would. Were all aviation fans who enjoy this hobby. Be respectful or leave.
@Foxx1981 I absolutely agree, and I mean it. Flew on both the Trent-powered and PW4168-powered A330s, sitting ahead of the wing on both flights. The Trent was at least half as noisy if not much quieter too. Finally, an unbiased Airbus fan.
cool stuff man. I'm an Airbus guy myself. I never been on the A330 ( so far only A320 B6 2x ) but I have been on the 767-200 AA back in april 2010. I wasn't too excited but enjoyed the flight. I have to fly the A330 to give a fair comparison in terms of noise level but in business class we got noise canceling head phones and even with it on it was still noisy.
more united states airlines need to operate these babes. I use to think these were 777 competitors but it seems like they're more comparable to the 767. Awesome aircraft
@KidKlassic91 I'm normally a boeing supporter, but I rode one of these yesterday, and I have to say its much better than the 767 in terms of noise. quiet take off and cruising, I actually managed to get some sleep in the economy section. the 200 version is comparable to the 767 capacity-wise, while the 300 (stretch) is closer to the 777-200 (actually same length, just a bit narrower).
One of the best sounding planes ever! I live so close from TAM central, and almost everyday a A330 lands there, flies over my house, the sound is awesome!
@Roostman75 As in the one on the Delta 777-200LR or the Air China 747? Because a whole lot of people dis-liked the 777-200LR video so I might just make them more like reviews compared to experiences maybe a combination of both.
Great vid ! You have the ship#? Recorded the take-off from Detroit last Friday - same seat in EcoComfort. See my uploaded vid - great engine sound too, although your spool up was much better.
Awesome video. When did you film this flight. Because I havea friend who flies this aircraft and flew on this flight about a couple of weeks ago. It might've been him flying on this one, that would be awesome. But anyways are you sure this is a A330-200 I thought the 300 series operates this route on the ATL-BCN route, maybe they changed it for the one you were on but nice video and if you have the landing one up I wanna see it.

I hate airbus takeoffs. They always pitch the nose higher than normal and it scares me :P

The A333 is my favorite airplane. I absolutely love the loud sound of the engine right after initial climb, when the thrust is pulled back (@ 4:30).

They both were cool but to be honest my favorite video was the DTW to china full experience. That would be the best kind of video. :)
