  • Nice input southport97. You liberals really have some good information to share with others. Just a little warning for you: Your glory days are over. Atlas is shrugging and pretty soon the left's resources and numerous Hollywood-style mouthpieces will be rendered useless because the other side has the one thing in it's arsenal you don't have which really matters....The Truth.

  • Thank you Senator!

  • Great job Mr. DeMint! Proud to have you as our Senator.

Interesting though that in 3 instances where Mr. DeMint is commending Senator Bunning, the captioning replaces Senator Bunnings name with "Senator Obama" (5:25) in 1 instance and "Senator Biden" (5:45, 3:28) in 2 other. It correctly identified the name at 3:39.

  • A common sense politician. I thought they were declared extinct decades ago. How did S. Carolina give us DeMint and Graham? I am not sure how two so called Republicans could be more different.

Thanks to Senator DeMint. Keep fighting the good fight in the Republican Party and for the Country.

  • I love Jim Demint....can we clone him 200 times?

  • Please. Go. Lie. Down. In. Traffic.

  • I think that if the communists and the other paracites were voted out of office, then only DeMint and Ron Paul would be left to run the country. What a happy thought!

  • DeMint=common sense

  • Pushing the 10th Amendment in Enough States will Turn the USA Around.

Dembos = Small Children in a Toy Store with No Limit on what to Buy - it is Not Their Money, so they do Not Care!!!

  • Dembos Obviously do Not Care about Any Laws, including The Constitution!

  • The one thing that he's not taking into consideration is the fact that democrats buy things with magic money that no one ever has to pay back.

  • Thank you Jim!!! :-)

  • oh so they pick THIS bill to take a stand on because these people arent Goldman Sachs. I know Demint was against the bailouts. But the peopple shouldnt suffer when their own government has bankrupted them and enslaved them to offshore banks.

  • Good for you, Senator DeMint! Senator Bunning is courageous!

  • The solution is telling the international bankers who forced our congress to approve TARP debt of nearly 28 trillion. How about we just say, no way, "DROP THE DEBT."

This way the entire debt load will be on the shoulders of the Federal Reserve and their private interest holders. It's their debt, not ours.

  • what a asshole. Great time to start getting fiscally conservative you prick. Cant wait to see the pork in the bills YOU need to pass. Taking care of your friends but not the people that NEED help.

    (and I have a job)

  • @CheapSushi

So no one ever stops the spending? No one ever has to figure out how to pay for what we spend because . . . name it - someone ALWAYS has a reason.

This fellow is the real deal - he has been against pork - when Bush was in and now. However, when anyone gets 'responsible' it draws the ire and fire of those who WANT to spend . . . or want spending to be done to/on them.

Real americans can get into trouble, and want help, but they don't want to break the country.

  • We cannot keep spending money we DON'T HAVE!

  • @NoCensorshipYT Then I hope you support cutting the weapons budget and oil subsidies, too.

  • Well done! Now we know you and Bunning are equal parts douche.

  • Actually, Bunning asked the Democrats to fund the legislation so that they would be obeying the law they-Democrats- just put into place. When Bunning suggested that they use unused TARP money, the Democrats refused.

  • Paygo isn't a law, it's a procedural rule that can be waivered. It *was* a law during President George H. W. Bush, but was taken apart.

...and as it stands, the Paygo option (as a law) will never pass the legislature because "tax and spend" is seen as a bad thing, versus "borrow from China and spend," which effectively got us to where we are.

  • Actually H J Resolution 45 was signed into law on Feb 12, 2010 by Obama. It " establishes a statutory Pay-As-You-Go procedure requiring that new non-emergency legislation affecting tax revenue or mandatory spending not increase the federal deficit. "

From Thomson Reuters Tax Watch website

  • Ah, I stand corrected and more informed than I was when I posted!

I hit up opencrs and ran by politifact and found that the waivers are still intact, however. So you're 100% correct, though the waiver can be run through the House Rule Committee.

I take we're probably on different isles politically, but I tip my hat to you and wish you the best! Nice to converse without the venom you know? Cheers!

  • Well thank you for your kind words. And yes, I appreciate debate without attacks. No one is ever convinced to join your side if you shoot them first! :D

  • Too true!

  • Senator Bunning is a HERO. The spending in Washington needs to stop. Trying to load the working class down with more debt to pay for those who aren't trying to find work because the government is paying them not to is not the answer to unemployment.

  • This clown voted for to fund 2 wars and a huge tax cut for the rich without paying for any of it. Now he comes crying about $10B? Spare me, DeMint.

  • It's odd how you'd get multiple "thumbs down" for stating something factually correct. These are the new politics.

Another thing that gets me is that these concern-trolls are flagrantly only concerned with the employed, but they fail to speak to the imminent cost to the country when a few million people won't be able to BUY things with unemployment benefits that they already paid in to!

DeMint, Bunning, et al, suffer from cognitive dissonance.

  • i'd like to see this go to vote to see who the REAL Congressmen are....it looks like now there are 3 that would vote against this...Demint, Bunning and of course Dr NO...Ron Paul.

  • It would be supported 99-1. Bunning is being the sacrificial lamb in order to obstruct for the Republican leadership.

  • ...too bad the Constitution isnt read before they voted for Unemployment, if it was, the original Unemployment Act would have never been passed...not even close; but, we have Congressmen today (and of the past) who think entitlement programs arent a slap in the face to freedom and liberty...sorry, they are...and there is no place for them in a free Republic...

until people understand this, our country will never get better and the economy will continue down as it has since 1913.

  • My guess is you are dead wrong...Neither of AL 2 Senators will vote Yes-they like their jobs, MS-think they like their jobs too, my guess is only RINOS will vote Yes.
