It may sound silly. But I really need to ask this question. Why don't we pinch the bayby nose? In adult CPR, we need to pinch the nose when giving them 2 breath, don't we?
Doesn't sound silly... It's because when you give rescue breaths to a baby you seal your mouth over their mouth AND nose, and breath air into both at once (because they're so tiny!) .. Whereas with adult CPR, you are breathing only into their mouth, so need to pinch their nose to stop air going out there as you breath it in.
Thank a bunch xxx It is clear now =) I am the only child so I don't know much about children. Well, I see a lot of children on streets. I have never thought that adult 's mouth is that much bigger.
Just a thought from a life support trainer: the rescuer didn't support the infants head whilst compressions were applied. Very good practice, as you see in the video the head and neck will stress while compressions are administered.
As a children's nurse I would like to mention that in an infant less than 12 weeks old the Trachea is much shorter than that of an older baby / child / adult, so you do not have to tilt the head right back as this can actually close off the airway. In a newborn having the head straight and inline with the body will give a good clear airway.
punch it in the stomache xD

Red cross taught us tht we do NOT tilt the head back on a baby

That's because if you tilt it back too much you can end up blocking it. "Sniffing position" is where it should be
