West was one of my guitar heroes in high school in the late '60s early '70s. I started playing guitar in the mid-'60s because of the Beatles and Dick Dale, but kept playing it because of West, Hendrix & Page. I didn't know much about Leslie, not having seen a vid before. Seems like a real down-to-earth self-effacing kinda guy. Also, nice to see now that he's not a museum, he's a musician-- still playing with feel rather than imitating past glories.

my mate dragged me down to where Leslie was playing I indulged my mate, rolled my eyes and said ok what the hell .lelie limped on stage and I thought aw jesus 2 hours of this .dear god the first chord nearly took my head of .I had not heard a better live sound before or since. he put on a show purely on the merits of his music and I left a humble fan .
