hi, the numbers 2 5 8 and 0 (center row) on my 6288 are not functional, can u plz teel me if they can be repaired? i tested the pads with a DDM and it seems that the center row have low current compared to the remaining pads.. =s

@jacquieh726 not really, but if you keep opening it the clips eventually loosen, but dont open it too many times you will damaged it

Bloody hell, took me ages of searching to find this. Now I know how easy it is to remove the cracked screen (not lcd). Now all I have to do is find another on the web somewhere to replace it! Well done.

hmm the camera could be because the actualy lens has come out of place and lost contact.

TBH this phone is a pile of shit, and i have had nothing but problems wih it, the best option is just to go and buy a new phone.

I recommend n81/n82/n95/n96/n97/n78/n79

Those phones are a little pricey, but with a reason, these are by far the best phones that nokia has ever made :P

the only thing i can think of is that your internal battery is empty/memory is messed up, honestly though this phone is rubbish and you should just get a new phone :S

It is a horrible quality phone with many flaws i don't recommend having this phone.

I have a 6288 which records in .3gp format. I've seen videos in that format being uploaded onto youtube so it should work. Otherwise, you can download a program that converts 3gp into wmv format.

I'm assuming you have a usb cable and have installed Nokia's PCSuite program onto your computer?

well, the ribbon, i think is like 10 dollars, so i would buy the ribbon, and check if it works, if it works, you saved yourself like 100 bucks, but if it sill doesnt work then its most probably the screen

this happened to me nimsta4, i would recommend checking that the ribbon(the cable that conects the screen and the keypad) isnt damaged, as if there is bad contact it could cause problems however i believe its the screen, the leds may have died.

Thanks mate, I didnt bother to buy a new ribbon or LCD as my contract plan ends so got upgraded to Nokia 6600, similar to 6288 but smaller, nicer and more feature, great mobile! Dissembling 6288 front panel was really so simply!

Maybee the actual card slot is dirty/has bad contact. Try and get one of those tooth pick brush things and clean it or just get a tooth pick and clean it.

If that doesnt work:

Do you have any pakistani phone repair shops where you live, if so go there and let em fix it, here is the UAE there are heaps of them and they are real cheap lol :P

BTW dont go to the original nokia care if you opened the phone, as your warranty is voided.

If your asking about a bluetooth headset, then i have no idea how those work as i have never used one,

If you mean a wired headset then try use your friend and if that works then buy a new headset, but if even that doesnt work, it means you pop-port is either very dirty or damaged.

I'm asking about a wired headset(sorry for not mentionning from the beginning).I've tried a bluetooth headset,and it works fine.

When I connect the wired headset,the phone it doesn't display that "headphones" icon.Keeps sayn' "connect an enhancement".

The pop-port is very clean.USB data cable works just fine.This pop-port can be replaced?Or is very expensive,and it doesn't worth it...

Try buying a new headset, i think thats your problem, try buy some cheapo headset if you dont want to spend much on a real nokia original headset

For those with problems finding the clips, they are visible if you look closely with a torch, try use a flat headed screw driver.

Spazamatron make sure when you plug the connectors back in, you feel it click in
