Indeed it is Duanes birthday today (26th April) and I had a nice message form him today after I have wished him many happy returns. I saw him at the Liverpool Empire in 1962 and it's likely that one or more of the Beatles was probably in that audience way back then. Happy days
Saw these guys in the fifties at The Odeon in Manchester in the UK, they are still great. And guess what ? Today it's Duanes birthday. Happy Birthday.
tkhering, there is so much stuff on tapes that hardly anyone has seen. I have a heap but every time I try to post it, someone at yootoob thinks that warner might have copyright and block it, or mute the audio. Warner have become the world of the music turds.
Good to see another tape of this! thrombanks audio is good but I claim good vid. I've snipped the '87 Central TV show into tracks and put every one here. For once, mealymouthed, dog-in-the-manger warner shites don't claim copyright. scopinusa, whatever amp Duane used, the o/p from Guitar went to studio mixing desk. I know someone who watched plug inserted. The crime was that it was TXd in mono -- unless thrombanks tells me that his is stereo which would stun me.
To see Duane Eddy and the Deke Dickerson band perform live...go to the "Ponderosa Stomp" in September of 2010. The concert will be held in New Orleans, La. You will think that it's 1958 again.
Duane usually used Peavey amplifiers. My choice over the years. Big, distinctive sound. The years with the aluminum strips down the sides were the best. Looks like he'e using my favorite trick with a Peavey Powered mixer and Peavey cab! Cool to the max!

I'm continually amazed at the stuff that turns up here. I don't believe Duane ever recorded this one. Nice to see Jim Horn, too.
