Finally a disney princess that doesnt need a man to rescue her. And she only ends up with Phoebus after she beats him up with a candle stand and rescues him form certain death...TWICE. Esmerelda = Badass.

the citizens and the performers are not very bright in this scene. While I appreciate the fact that they helped Esmerelda escape, they don't seem to realize that they can be arrested/killed for helping a "witch", as Frollo would probably say, escape capture. LOL

People need to see how good these movies were. Im 23 now but when i saw it i got all the messages out of it. Esmeralda isnt black just dark skinned. It tells kids not to hurt people because they are different in appearance. Now a days movies dont focus on that. I also like that they gave her a real body not a stick body, she has curves ans she beautiful. Its a good movie for young girls to be like hey she can do this so i can be strong and like myself too.
I love this part of the movie. She rocks! And the hunchback is one of my 4 top favourite male characters of all time! Esmerelda is my favourite girl character.

I see (reading the comments) that everyone loves that old man who says "I'm free! I'm free! Dang it!" and when Phoebus says "What a woman!"... but then again, I like it, too, so I'm guilty. Earlier in the comments I read that you could see Belle in "Out There".. I didn't know that.. I'll have to go watch it again...
Anyway, I love this scene... It's wonderful! I wish disney made more movies like this... '90s rule!

People need to see how good these movies were. Im 23 now but when i saw it i got all the messages out of it. Esmeralda isnt black just dark skinned. It tells kids not to hurt people because they are different in appearance. Now a days movies dont focus on that. I also like that they gave her a real body not a stick body, she has curves ans she beautiful. Its a good movie for young girls to be like hey she can do this so i can be strong and like myself too.

I love this part of the movie. She rocks! And the hunchback is one of my 4 top favourite male characters of all time! Esmerelda is my favourite girl character.
