My Caucasian Ovtcharka died the last year by asphyxiation due to the heat of the summer. He was 14 years old and he seemed still young because he played and ran like a (big) puppy. He was very good, quiet. He never hurt anyone. When I see his photos, I cry , always.

CO is excelent dog. They are perfect for herd guard. Also they are exclent large areal guarders and protecters. Protection work vs humans is also thing in what they excel. I don't know why people talk so much about pitbulls are tough to fight other dogs etc. I don't want a dog to fight another dog. I want a dog that will fight a human to protect the house. Pitbulls generally like people, even strangers and aren't necessarily good guard dogs at all. Shepherd type dogs are the best guard dogs IMO, although rottie and dobermans are up there also. I like the CO dogs a lot but seems like they need to be the only dog for the family.
@mydogsbiteu Also, I've been around pitbulls all my life and have taken one in as a stray before. Long story short...the pitbulls I've know have all been very sweet to people and children especially which is good. But they have not been protective. The two german shepherds I've owned on the other hand, have both been incredibly protective and willing to do anything to protect the house and members of the family.

@mydogsbiteu They can be kept with other dogs but i wouldn't keep a male CO with another male dog because when they challenge the other dog which will happen it could be fatal for the other male dog . and they are very good family dog's if you understand them . if you do decide to get a CO do alot of research first and talk to a load of CO owner's before getting one as with a dog like this it is best to get an honest opinion of the breed for both good and bad point's . :)
@flexin007 I Agree. This dog and the Kangal are constantly compared to Pit Bulls on Youtube, wrong, wrong. Both of these dogs are shepards period, herding dogs. Not fighters. The Pit Bull was developed specifically for fighting, its gameness sets it apart. A better comparison to the PBT is the Dogo Argentino or American Bulldog. Better yet a real competitor the PBT would be something like the Presa Canario.

My Caucasian Ovtcharka died the last year by asphyxiation due to the heat of the summer. He was 14 years old and he seemed still young because he played and ran like a (big) puppy. He was very good, quiet. He never hurt anyone. When I see his photos, I cry , always.

@Reptornicus They use mixes it a mix or Bandog that is number two. Number three bull terrier, fifth a Sicilian working Cane Corso, fifth game bred pitbull from Italy. I don't own a CAO I don't fight dogs because of little bitchs it is illegal in the United States but if i ever move I will put $5,000 up that no game bred female can beat my American Bulldog and no male can beat my super mutt hybrid.

Tarzan fight some CH CAO from romania. They stare jump to themself 2 bites and end! They fight only 43 sec! And that you call fighting dogs? Ambull will rip CO to pices. I have seen it! I don't know why people talk so much about pitbulls are tough to fight other dogs etc. I don't want a dog to fight another dog. I want a dog that will fight a human to protect the house. Pitbulls generally like people, even strangers and aren't necessarily good guard dogs at all. Shepherd type dogs are the best guard dogs IMO, although rottie and dobermans are up there also. I like the CO dogs a lot but seems like they need to be the only dog for the family.

@mydogsbiteu Also, I've been around pitbulls all my life and have taken one in as a stray before. Long story short...the pitbulls I've know have all been very sweet to people and children especially which is good. But they have not been protective. The two german shepherds I've owned on the other hand, have both been incredibly protective and willing to do anything to protect the house and members of the family.

@mydogsbiteu Yes pitbulls are friendly to humans. Its beacouse they were used fro fighting so the people need to manipulate with them. Pitbull is best fighting dog. No other breed is able to crush him in combat. But yes he is shit guarder. He is extremly friendly to people as he is extremly danger to dogs. Yes he is afighter not guarder. And thats why CO root dobie GS and tibet. mastiff are my choice.

@mydogsbiteu They can be kept with other dogs but i wouldn't keep a male CO with another male dog because when they challenge the other dog which will happen it could be fatal for the other male dog . and they are very good family dog's if you understand them . if you do decide to get a CO do alot of research first and talk to a load of CO owner's before getting one as with a dog like this it is best to get an honest opinion of the breed for both good and bad point's . :)

@flexin007 I Agree. This dog and the Kangal are constantly compared to Pit Bulls on Youtube, wrong, wrong. Both of these dogs are shepards period, herding dogs. Not fighters. The Pit Bull was developed specifically for fighting, its gameness sets it apart. A better comparison to the PBT is the Dogo Argentino or American Bulldog. Better yet a real competitor the PBT would be something like the Presa Canario.
