I only liked 2 songs from this album: Under Cover Of Darkness, and Taken For a Fool. All the others just didn't do it for me.

@kevinx237 Personally all the other songs felt like Julian was singing so half-assed. His words were near-unintelligible, which was never like that before. Sounded like he just woke up in the morning to do studio work and half assed on all the other songs.Also, his voice was pushed in the background, which was something that really bothered me. Being a fan of his voice, I wanted to hear his voice stand out more, like in his other songs.

This album is fantastic, their earlier shit is fantastic, I'm unbiased, I've consumed their entire discography in two days, I came from Blur and Suede and the Third Wave scene to discover The Strokes, they are class, top class and furthermore can change style successfully, much like Blur and Suede they are maturing, I saw the same evolutions lose fans for those two but gain musical respect, and that's what's important, it's great music.

I initially hated angles. As I gave it a few more listening to I found it to be a decent album. Life is simple in the moonlight is great and games is a fun track. I agree not as good as their earlier stuff but, still a good album.

Radiohead did it (compare The Bends to Kid A), the Black Keys did it (The Big Come Up to Brothers), and they're still great. I love the Strokes as much as the next guy, and this album is a breath of fresh air. Sorry you're too much of a damn hipster to appreciate Angles.

What I mean is, they were better, but they're still incredible. The Strokes on the other hand, they've changed for the worse I'm afraid, I found First Impressions of Earth different but still quite enjoyable, but Angles... I just can't wrap myself around it.
