Alright, so this phone is available through straight talk, but straight talk limit the usage of the phone online, and you cannot for eg go streaming, or watch vdeos. The important thing to me is, is this phones wifi also limited? And is the phone forever locked to straight talk, or can I unlock it for the use of overseas?

I just got the Nokia 6790 as an early Xmas gift and can't put it down! The Straight Talk unlimited plan is pretty sick too cuz I can call and text as much as I want without ticking off the old parental units. I think they got it for me since I was texting and calling nonstop last month with the last provider we had haha... my parents didn't like that too much. But now for a little more than 40 dollars I can text all I want, and I can also browse the web as much as I want... and its sick!

its a good phone for the price but if ur good at texting fast this phone might get on ur nerves a bit cuz it skips letters alot if you text fast on it. and the screen is a little slow at switching from vertical to horizontal when you slide it. prolly not the BEST phone for messaging, but still pretty nice.

I mean I have straight talk, im looking at this or the e71 like many of you. The e71 having wifi is appealing, but if I get either phones I'll be (forcibly) having unlimited data anyways. Also, this phone's rated battery life is only like 5 hours, which is HORRIBLE. Thats the biggest thing I'm contemplating. This phone looks so much better than the e71 though. Decisions decisions.

@marcosEstrello I agree, I'm getting ready to switch my g/f and myself over from a 2 year contract w/ Verizon and I'm debating these two phones...I'm not much on the "candy bar" style phones, even when looking at a BlackBerry, but the E71 seemingly is a more superior phone to the 6790 (aka Surge). I wasn't aware the 6790 doesn't have wifi, but I did know it doesn't have a camera flash like the E71, and it has a 2.0 megapixel vs. the E71's 3.2 megapixel camera. Decisions, decisions, lol...

the only main flaw i find is that its directional button is too small and hard to control.
