  • their best album ever

  • Belive or not, but the Final cut is on of the best album of Pink Floyd, beterr then the Wall, no doubt.

  • @ronackostolomac Ummm yes, big doubt there.

  • roger waters and the pink floyd

  • I totally agree that the Final Cut is the finest piece by Pink Floyd. My favourite over DSOTM and The Wall

  • the final cut is one of the greatest floyd albums of all time...

  • This is definitely one of my most favourite Roger's songs.. Scacely ever do I hear it without it sending chills down my spine or bringing tears to my eyes. It's simply incredible - lyrically and vocally. Roger you are a pure genius! :)

  • Simplesmente «fantasbulástico», divinal! Obgda pela oportunidade!

  • would you take the children away...and leave me alone... :(

  • @MadnotMad79 and smile in slow assurence as you wisper down the phone

  • omg i did not know such a vid exists!!!

  • @elwind 45.right on the button mate!!

  • É uam das musicas mais belas feitas ate hoje.

Obrigado Simone por me mostrar...e emprestar a sua fita.

    Luciano Quintana

  • pink floyd UNICI e IRRIPETIBILI

  • I appreciate the work of both Waters and Gilmour. Both brought to Pink Floyd amazing songwriting and musical talent. We would not have Dark Side of the Moon without the both of them.

  • The final cut did not sell that many copies compared to the wall. It was thought that Waters had lost his touch, when in fact the band had already fallen apart. The waters taking over nonsense is crap. Hell Waters was the original member not Gilmore. Besides Waters wrote 90 % of everything from la valle times.

  • 66 today godbless roger waters

  • Waters, the ultimate rock Genius.

    Peace.

  • whiterider? shwasticker for a profile pic? u sir, are a racist cunt who needs to fuck off and die

  • does anybody here not realize this was in some ways an auto-biography of roger waters and the loss of his father in ww2, i read this in a self written book about roger and his life in pink floyd. the reason you here of the wall being a lead up to this album, is because they were based on the same topic in the begining till waters went crazy in montreal. and the name "the final cut" was because it was to be floyds last album.

  • wow talk about un`educated and not even knowing it, whiterider shold take a sitdown ond his daddys dick oh wait that happens saturday night during wraslen dosn`t it you dumb prick READ A BOOK

  • do you guys think pink floyd is "too deep" for black people and thats why there are no african fans? they just dont get it...

  • dude thats fucking racist. afro americans created blues! and soul! does music get much deeper? i love pink floyd but you are way off

  • WTF? I know enough of them that get it. I guess YOU don't get it.

  • I understand where you are coming from, however, jsandy8 is correct. Without African American Cotton Field based Blues derived from African Tribal chants, there would be no "Pink Floyd" as anyone knows it. Floyd Council and Pink Anderson are Blues fans, who's music can be traced back to Africa through the Blues they produced.

  • i know i,m mad.... i,ve always been mad :)

  • wow es imposible ke no llore esuchando esa cancion

  • The best album of the dark 80s.

  • Great song. Lyrics are honest and powerful and the riffs are piercing.

  • i,ve got to do the hoovering tonight.got to tidy up......god this place is a mess..... :0

  • making love to girls in magazines????

  • Let the "Final Cut" grab you.The lyrics are ..just listen.

  • I hear the influence of the "Plastic Ono Band" album by John Lennon on this record.

  • straordinario e suggestivo

  • no one writes better lyrics "through the fish eyed lense of tear stain eyes,i can barely define this shape of this moment in time"

  • Pure poetry....

  • This album is awesome sounds better on record

    Great Album!

  • Roger's voice has always gave me chills down my spine. it's so fucking creepy, yet so amazing.

  • @GoAheadAmuseMe seriously? how could it be both at the same time?

  • qualtiy is shit on this , there is a better post but its video shrinks to 3/4ths of the screen but the best on youtube

this is such a great track

  • Ive owned every album made by PF and Rogers solo work and this is by far my favorite of PF's. I didnt read all the comments but if you like the final cut I highly recommend the Pros and cons of hitchhiking. Its a little bit of a different sound for him but I liked it a lot. Sound quality was a little rough on this clip. Very happy to see so much of Rogers stuff on youtube. Get my fix all in one place.

  • 182 lebanon, israeli invasion. black outs bombs falling all over, it was me and the Final cut, i listened to it like hundreds of times, love that album

  • never knew they made an MTV video.

    is roger a friendly guy?

  • Apparently not. I just read a huge bio on the band. In fact, he was the furthest thing from a friendly guy. However, he was the ideas man. He was the one who wrote the majority of the lyrics, and had the ideas behind the pigs, planes, and amazing light shows. Kind or not, he is a creative genius! Hands down.

  • solem but sound!

  • My 3rd favorite Floyd album, behind Obscured by Clouds and Meddle

  • And my 2nd PF album behind Animals. Although every Floyd album with R Waters is great. Peace

  • well, I dont think that it's easy to describe a song because everyone has a different opinion. I mean someone might like one song that one other might hate but I don't think that anyone can disagree but the final cut is one of these songs that when you here them you.. feel strange.

  • I always get prickles down the back of my neck Keep Talking brilliant song too listen too & also Learning to fly. Excellent

  • yes, Final Cut is underrated unfortunately, and very little known even amongst many PF or RW fans ...

  • exelent

  • I concur that this is one of the most magnificent pieces of work every made. The Final Cut as an album - from the lyrics

"Kids committing Suicide" - "The Blade in Trembling hands" - to "The Human Race is Run" Simply a magnificent illustration of life in war time and what we can, and should, do to avoid it. But not NOW John . . . Southampton Dock is very moving for me as well. Thanks for Existing Roger.

  • Well said...

  • Roger deserves a Pulitzer for his lyrical genius. Any "Floyd Fan" needs to sit down and listen to this album and absorb the sheer brilliance of The Final Cut... and get off the "DSOTM" bandwagon. Gah, I cannot even speak the wonders of this man. Roger Waters is pure and simply amazing.

  • @pinksdaze It's just too bad his ego at the time ruined the band. Imagine the music they could have put out if he didn't screw it all up. Gilmour saved Floyd

  • Totally agree with every word, and even more...

  • agree with every word, and more...

  • Most under-rated album of all time-right here ladies and gentlemen. The lyrics are sharp and precise, and the music as well. Floyd brought back the saxophone that fans had likely missed during the Wall.(also a brilliant album) I'd recomend this cd to anyone who is artistic, and doesn't have attention defecit disorder like 95% of my generation has!

  • ln the gunner's dream "NO 1 kills the children anymore" if only Govts held that principal & dignity of the human spirit.

I have to laugh at some idiot saying the final cut was soft.I think you will find the final cut & the Wall took ppl to uncomfortable

places, racism hidden in flag waving Patriotism.

Maybe the reff to the I.R.A in the lyrics "and maniacs dont blow holes in bandmans by remote control"the Gunners dream made it all a little to real for you!

    "rockstar" slapping you into reality

  • The Final Cut is the best Floyd cd/album brilliantly political & the reason Waters realised he was the voice/spokesman/lyrical genius and that the others where simply mere hold backs listen to Radio KAOS esp"the tide is turning" it could easily be mistaken for a Floyd c/d cos Waters was Pink Floyd's attitude an political ambassador.

Simply put the rest where expendable but no Waters = no Floyd,

If you want soft comfortable music go listen to pompeii The Final Cut must be to Cutting for you.

  • wats thw song by waters that goes like bum, bum bum bum, bum bum bum bum bum on on electric guitar!?!?!?!?

  • money? and its by pink floyd

  • Rogers wrote it though, he wrote the bassline and guitar part and had the idea of the money and keys in the metal bowl at the beginning, and he wrote the lyrics while in school.

  • i dunno know about him writing it in school but he did write the lyrics while he was with pink floyd but just because he wrote the lyics doesent mean its his song because all the other members also put their inputs into the song mostly gilmour with that really long solo

  • Yeah. However, the composer credits go rightfully to Waters on the song.

  • it was still made by pink floyd

  • ur right man is the band job and this song cant be better without Gilmour solo!

  • The album was a concept and totally writen by Mr. Roger Waters. Period

  • I am torn because I love both Gilmour and Waters, but where Gilmour moves me in a transcendant way, Waters moves in an emotional way. I would love for them to get together and collaborate on something. I think the universe would implode on itself if they did.

  • The north and south pole would colapse into each other and pigs would not fly, but be tossed into space, which is actually the next best thing. My eyes would retreat from their sockets and come out of my mouth though.

  • This album deserves more attention than the wall.

  • Agreed, my friend! A lot of people look at this like a bad album.. What the hell!? It's a masterpiece, and one of the greatest art rock albums I've ever heard!

  • Yes it is. Maybe its because this album is not as radio friendly as the wall. Judging by their major hits, it seems like Gilmour has to sing in order that they sell records. Surprisingly, Not Now John is still never played.

  • Yeah, that's quite sad, seeing as it is a really sweet song :/

  • Some reviews back when it released agreed with you.

Rolling Stone actually gave this album 5 stars saying something like, they regarded The Wall a warm up to this album.

  • This album is perfect. With the exception that alot of the lyrics are contextual and outdated. Still, this album kicks the crap out of the wall.

  • That's seriously amazing, and yet who actually owns this album other than the hardcore Floyd fans?

  • I do :).

  • One of the best PF albums in my opinion. Truly great lyrics and guitar work. The voice3 of Waters here was awesome. Peace.

  • The Wall's friggin overrated. Both are an emotional journey, but The Wall is more focused upon because of its mainstream, catchy, rockish sound on the hits such as Another Brick Part 2 and Young Lust, and The Final Cut is also softer, and more materialistic in a sense that it's actually a story and not a state of mind, and people have to accept that sometimes one's journey through life can be as or more interesting as a journey through one's mind.

  • umm NO! pink the final cut was pink floyds last album. The where having emtional issues so the band broke up. Sid Barret didn't "flip out" he ODed on acid and had drug and phycological(skitzophrenia) problems, so they kicked him out of the band.

  • The album was the last of the Floyd greats then Floyd got really crappy because Gilmore was more interested in his helicopters etc. I always thought that Roger was the leader of PF...actually Sid was before he flipped out...anyone ever read that book on Sid Barrett, Lost In The Woods? Really depressing...

  • Agree, my friend. In my opinion the best concept album of the decade. Waters in his lyrics prime. Peace.

  • This is definitely one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard!

  • Brilliant,great music and video.

  • this is such a powerful song, musically and lyrically..

  • te amo roger...

  • My favorite Floyd album ..and I think the only album I can recite from beginning to end . Long live Mr Waters

  • Me too, my friend.

  • One of the best songs written by the man. Brilliant the variety of sound within the same song.

  • I've had many a glass of scotch listening to this album, great music

  • one of the best song i ve ever heard

  • havnt played this album in years gonna download onto my ipod

  • roger waters no one else like him the dogs bollox

  • my favorite album next to anamals

  • Same here, Animals is my most favorite album by Floyd. Final Cut is my second.

  • This song is so me. But I made that statement countless times and just like Roger says in most of his songs...I didn't make the final cut.

Personally, I have always found Roger Waters to be one of the best spokespersons regarding Peace and an example as to the damages resulting from war.

  • I think I know what you are referring to in the final cut. Your efforts are appreciated.

  • Pink Floyd. The best.

  • One of the best pink floyd disc.

Even if many call this a roger waters

    disc.

    Great.

  • Great song of a great album. Waters in his high. Original and creative mind like no one in rock history.

  • me too

  • mabye im a pussy also,

the first time i heard that

i was with a guy from work

    and burst into tears.......

  • I burst into tears also. This song is so moving and emotional. I love it!

  • When he screams, "Or would you take me home?", I burst into tears. Maybe I'm a pussy.

  • every time i hear it i am pussy too:)

  • In the past 5 days, i have listened to this song for more than 20 times! I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE IT!

  • just brilliant, no more no less....

  • would you sell your story to rolling stone, would you take the children away and leave me alone...

  • and if i show you my dark side, will you still hold me tonight, and if i open my heart to you, show you my weak side, what would you do..

  • there,s a kid who had a big hillousination, making love to girls in magazines... :0

  • Simply brilliant!!!

  • Water's in Rio............

    The band lives on.

  • Is stupid to choose a camp, a Gilmour Camp or a Waters camp. Is sad know how the personal visions of one man could destroy one of the bests bands in the world

  • In my opinion The Final Cut is a really great album - a Masterpiece... I think it's worth calling like that. /// But the vid is of a really terrible quality. At least you could have put better sound on it.

  • This album has touched the very fabric of my being.... I cannot see how anyone could not be moved by this album! If you doubt it, give it another chance!

  • I agree with you...Nick

  • I don't know why people fights here! I listen to Pink Floyd more than 30 years and this album "Final Cut" is nice and holds a lot messages, under messages...

Pink Floyd is, to me, a band of prophets

    Cheers all

  • true passion fkn long live the legacy

  • I love this song

  • Bla bla bla bla...there's nothing really wrong with this album considering much of it was to be included on The Wall... nobody stole fuck all...put the disc on, shut your eyes and mouth and let the music do the talking....

  • They were a great band. They made wonderful music, with lyrics that expressed our hopes, fears and foibles, and melodies that we still hum 30 years later. Their difficulties as a group were no different from our own. Soon they will all be dead. Enjoy now.

  • Gilmour is the one who brought the Floyd mainstream from total obscurity. Although Waters is a great lyricist, it is Gilmour's harmonies that allow the music to stand on its own. Waters was a meglomaniac who constantly berated his fellow musicians until they thought they were worthless. Gilmour is the one who had the nads to stand up to him and say, "Screw you, Rog!"

  • tenia que ser floyd..

  • The most political of the Pink Floyd albums ... after the Falkland islands

  • Why do people still fight about Pink Floyd? They've reconciled so stop the bitching. Roger Waters and David Gilmour were co depndant. Waters relied on Gilmour's technicality in the music department. Waters did write most of the songs yes, but dave played them and made them what they are.Gilmour and rest of band relied on Roger to come up with concepts like DSOM and The Wall.Put it all together and you have the legend that is Pink Floyd. The Final Cut is a good album in my view

  • The Final Cut album had to be the suckiest Floyd album ever made. Although artful, the music is weak. This was a Waters dominated album, and without the influence of Gilmour's harmonies, this album absolutely REEKED! I'm still pissed that I wasted my money buying this turd when it first came out.

  • Who cares about your subjective opinion

  • Thumbs up for that comment mate, I care about your subjective opinion and I totally agree with you!

  • Plastic ono band feeling melody!!!

  • This was a video? I wore out the grooves on my vinyl listening to this album.

  • Dave is NOT Pink Floyd. Dave "Stole" the name Pink Floyd. Syd and Roger grew up together and Roger has every right to carry on. Considering Roger made sure Syd would have enough money for the rest of his life. Dave was invited into the band years! after Syd and Roger. If you look at the albums it say "lyrics and music by Roger Waters NOT Dave

  • Waters is no genius I like the songs off this album although the political message sucks. Division bell has no waters and is a much better album.

  • Great song - sucks that the audio is off synch

  • What happened to Syd was Syd, Waters was always gonna be a force in his own right, no way was Syd gonna make such massive concept albums and keep it together for 40 years

  • yes,.its a crazy dream,..

  • Wonderful piece of art

  • No doubt. In some ways, I admire Waters and his voice is completely shot. I stopped listening to PF after Atom Heart Mother until recently. I had no stomach for what happened to Syd Barrett. Still don't. I don't like how Waters climbed on those frail shoulders. I was twenty one when Dark Side came out and I was repulsed by it. It is very hard to reconcile that one can become "genius" on the back of another by sucking up. If that is genius, then, Waters is quite the acrobat.

  • Yes, this song is one of the floy's finest work, from the beginning to that excellent end.

  • why would the blind field negotiate, it was something that you saw in the combo of the mind field

  • roger waters decleration that he was the boss so sad for the rest of the band

  • sad or not He was the real engine for them!

  • uuuuuuh. the final cut is NOT better than the wall in any way. roger waters is a dueche bag in this album,

  • u R-tard

  • My favourite Pink Floyd song... Incredibly moving. Does anyone know who the woman at 3:49 is? She seems so tragic and dignified...

  • Grande Roger...No puedo esperar hasta que finalmente llegue el día en que toques en el gallinero.

  • I have to take some issue with vslabsza. I mean I agree that you could argue that overall the Final Cut is better than the Wall (after "Run Like Hell" the album could be seen as falling off); but, however, both are far superior to Amused to Death. I mean Waters has no voice left, and although there are some strong songs on that album, it's nothing compared to his earlier stuff. Anyhow this song is great to say the least.

  • Whether it's "Radio KAOS", "Amused To Death" or "The Final Cut" Roger Water has created music for the next 2000 years. It's not everybody's heart and soul that can feel his music. It's something divine and special.

  • This is a good song but what does the crappy video have to do with it?

  • you apparently don't understand the song, sweetie.

  • Final Cut.. in many ways an album I think that is superior to The Wall. Maybe even as good as Amused To Death.

    Roger at his very best...

  • por fin.. alguien con sentido común...

  • excelente canción de un exclente album

  • uno de mis discos favoritos...

  • yes my friend its my favorite song as well '

  • theres a kid who had i big halucination making love to girls in magazines he wonders if your sleeping with your new found faith could anybody love you or is it just a crazy dream (fucking most perfectly excellent) would you sell your story to the rolling stone? would you take the children away and leave me alone? would smile in reasurance as i whisper down the phone...............

  • thanks for this great video...

gran video... (me lo digo a mí misma :))

  • this song makes my chicken skin from the first chord to the last, it´s one of the best things made by roger waters, and what a poem...!

  • quality could be a little better, but the song rocks. thanks for posting. this song pushes me back to the '80's with that first piano chord...

    awesome!

  • Fuck pink floyd kicks ass and kicked more ass in its time.

  • yes,

    deeply sensitive album

    exploring sadness at maximum !

    perfectly created

  • Love it...the guitar riff at almost the end of the song blows!!!

  • ummmm i hope you mean that ina good way because that guitar work on the bridge sounds great

  • Roger Waters is Pink Floyd!

  • ...amen

  • TOTALLY!!

  • siiiiiiiiiiiii

  • supercool.....never seen this, and one of the best floyd lp's, imo.
