He's a cutie... I had a cat named Gabriel who looked just like him, and his tail was like that as well, but he rarely ever lifted it off his back. My veterinarian thought it may have been broken when he was a kitten.
My best guess is Turkish Angora with Flame Point Siamese thrown in. He has a wonderful personality and a true sense of his own beauty and self-worth. Perhaps that's because we treat him like royalty, LOL.
Great cat. When they rub the side of their face on something (as he does to the furniture near the beginning of the clip) they're marking their territory. When they use the crown of their head (like a head butt) it's a sign of affection. Same behavior exhibited by the big cats in the jungle. This little guy's cool.
My sister just sent me a .wmv of a huge male lion hugging and greeting the lady who cared for him from the time he was a little cub... I saved it to my hard drive, and I'll upload it here if no one else has done so.

I'm sure the comment was quite witty, but I forget now. It went something like "I ran right over to see if there was kitty footage, and, indeed, there is!" And then I went on about how beautiful Sugarplum is and what did we ever do before those toys came on the market? ...something like that.
i ran right over to see if you had kitty footage - and indeed, you do! sugarplum is absolutely beautiful and i have never seen a cat lay his tail down like that either. (what did we ever do before those toys? - my kitties love them)
