Konami made the best video games based on cartoon series.. I loved mainly the Simpsons arcade game,X-men,TMNT and Tiny Toon Adventure games they made!
I started watching the old 80s series again and I just dont enjoy it as much as the more modern 2003 series (first 5 seasons of course, FF and BTTS arent so great imo). the 2003 series is much closer to the original comics which were awesome, expecially since Raph is such a hothead and will kill any goon in his way.
My life revolved around this game at the age of 5. OMG they need to make an online version of this where people can just jump in and out, like at the arcade!! It'd be freakin awesome!!
Most emulators work with client programs that allow people to play with each other over a network. You then just have to login to an of active server. Look into the Kalliera client, which works with the MAME 32 emulator, which this ROM is probably being played on. There are many tutorials on youtube about how to set it up to play online.
is this a remake? cuz im pretty shure ive seen one like this but with crappier sound , and they didnt talk, and the color was plain not many of it, but still an awsome game, well is it a remake?
This game is the epitome of how action games should be, even to this day. Far superior to the first game on the NES, it sucked bad. The second version wasn't that bad. I want to play the original arcade version so bad.
Some of us don't have internet at their home : ) Although I do thank you for letting me know. When the time comes I will order it although I wish Microsoft opted to release it on CD.
At times I wonder why neither the NES version of this game (I hold that version in My heart dearly as I used to play it with My Dad as a kid he'd be Don while I'd be Mikey and we'd play through the entire game from start to finish and he also knew the nine lives cheat I hold it dearly because he died when I was just barely starting High School) or the actual Arcade version of this game as well as Turtles in Time for both Arcade and the SNES one are not on Wii Virtual Console *2bcont.*
*Continued from My last comment* are not on Virtual Console or Wii Virtual Console Arcade, I mean if it can be on XBLA then why can't this be on Wii Virtual Console Arcade and don't get Me started on why the NES version of this game as well as the SNES version of Turtles in Time and the Arcade version of it aren't on there either. I mean I understand The Simpsons Arcade game (My favorite Arcade game I also played with My dad) has license issues but the least they could do is release *2bcont.*
but the least they could do is release any version of this or Turtles in Time on the Wii since they did so for XBOX or if it's Nintendo thats being pushy I'll say I'm upset with them for yet another thing. I mean the only TMNT game thats on the Wii is the first one that was released on the NES which wasn't even that good. I mean I'm getting a little impaitent waiting for some actual games I would like on Wii Virtual Console Arcade so I can stop playing the piracy way.
@fightlover187 Yeah pretty much the only old TMNT game they have on Wii VC from back then is the crappy first console one for the NES. They don't have the NES version of the Arcade game which I used to play with My Dad or the Arcade or SNES version of Turtles in Time in fact I haven't seen any of the old Konami beat em' up arcades on Wii VC Arcade *2bcont.*
@fightlover187 *Continued* And yes Xbox has this game on their service but I'm unsure about PSN and even if it is on there it wouldn't matter as My family can't afford a PS3. Anyways I'd probably skip out on XBLA Arcade's version of Turtles in time. The Re-shelled one as it's called as I have not heard very many good things about it. *2bcont.*
@fightlover187 *Continued* Anyways I think they could probably release the original Arcade version or the SNES one or heck even both of those versions of Turtles in Time on the Wii and I really would like to see this version or the NES version of this arcade game here released on Wii VC Arcade I mean if they can be on XBOX why not the Wii.
@fightlover187 *Continued and I'm sorry for the long comment i'll understand if anyone hates Me for it* Another Arcade game I'd like to see be released is My favorite one The Simpsons Arcade game but EA is too stubborn to actually let Konami release the real thing on any console service and they expect an iPhone imatation to fill that need. I mean that Arcade game isn't even on XBLA. Well Anyways sorry for the long comment once again.
don't worry about the long comments and stuff and yea i already know that you can download this game and turtles in time on the xbox 360 don't make sense if you ask me but i aint triooin, i downloaded turtles in time for the bsnes emulator and tmnt hyperstone heist for the sega fusion emulator so im good at this point
@Thenumber1yoshi I also have something to add to this. Why can't talented Japanese developers such as Konami can no longer do videogames that are based off of American cartoon, movie, comic book and toy franchises? Is it because we won't let them? Or is it that the Japanese hate cartoons or anything American made? Or, is it because of import costs?
@MysticArksRevenge Yeah about that, Konami actually did develop a few games based off of the modern TMNT series when it was still fairly new and still more gritty than most of what the Saturday morning shows that were done by 4Kids, and they weren't very good games, but back then they were the only ways you could play the TMNT arcade games on a console since XBLA didn't have them yet and the music and voices for the Arcade versions of the game were changed in those versions. *2bcont.*
@MysticArksRevenge *Continued* I'm not sure what happend but either Konami lost their touch with making TMNT games or just wasn't trying as hard, anyways I hate the fact that they won't release the Arcade or NES version of the first TMNT arcade game on the Wii Virtual Console or Wiiware and hate the fact that neither the Arcade version or SNES version of Turtles in Time has been released. And wish EA wasn't so stubborn to let Konami release The real Simpsons Arcade game on any of the *2bcont.*
@Thenumber1yoshi Or maybe it is because Konami and Japanese developers just don't give a rat's ass about American franchises anymore. I swear, if it is one thing I hate about Japan, it is their stuck-up and their EXTREMELY aggressive attitudes.
@MysticArksRevenge Whoa don't insult all the Japanese as one of My friends on Animal Crossing is Japanese and she was really nice to Me and gave Me stuff that was available only in Japan in Animal Crossing, Anyways I hate the fact that EA is too stubborn to let Konami release the real Simpsons Arcade Game on any of the console services also for the record conerning Konami's Simpsons Arcade game the reason they couldn't make another or release it on a console was because FOX sold the *2bcont.*
@Thenumber1yoshi Oh, OK. I just wish that the Japanese published and developed licensed games again. Here are my ideas for who should do games:
Koei-Tecmo should do the licensed games based off of 20th Century Fox, Universal Pictures, Columbia Pictures, Sony Pictures Animation, Discovery Kids, Teletoon, YTV, and all other cartoon and movie franchises,
Konami would do WB, Cartoon Network, and, Hanna-Barbera franchises,
@MysticArksRevenge was because FOX sold the game rights to Acclaim before Konami had a chance to do anything and Acclaim made some pretty terrible Simpsons games for all consoles and handhelds back then. Concerning TMNT at least Ubisoft and Konami were willing to put differences aside in order to release the true first Arcade game on XBLA in time for the TMNT movie that was in the theaters at the time.
@Thenumber1yoshi Un my opinion, 2007, the year that Fox released Simpsons: The Movie is when XBox Live Arcade should have made the Konami Simpsons coinop a downloadable. Konami and Capcom did so many licensed arcade coinops, they must be hitting themselves over the head today knowing that they can't capitalize on them -- particularly Konami, who outside licensed IP's, really didn't have alot of memorable arcade originals.
@Thenumber1yoshi With Capcom ushering in the fighting genre with Street Fighter 2, Konami sort of lost their way beginning in the early 1990's. They were never really able to adapt to a demographic that had embraced Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, and they continued to struggle as 2D fighters began to give way to 3D fighters and racing titles.
@jstephenj Yeah I think they should have at least released it during the Simpsons Movie or at least during the Simpsons 20th (do I have that right it was their 20th right?) anniversary but like I said EA is way too stubborn to actually let Konami release the real thing and instead all we got was an iPhone imatation thats nothing like the original and that goes around carrying the same name.
@Thenumber1yoshi I had no idea that EA could have a hand in that decision, seeing as how they never even made the game to begin with. Wouldn't it make more sense that Newscorp have more of a say in that than Electronics Arts? And I agree with you about the 20th anniversary remark. Releasing it last year or this year would have been ideal. Is EA afraid that the game might perform better as a downloadable than what they're offering?
@jstephenj Anyone who currently holds the gaming rights to the franchise most certainly does have a big say in what gets released. In fact Ubisoft who had the gaming rights to the Ninja Turtles had involvement with both Ninja Turtles games being released on XBLA as you see them credited in the opening logos along with Konami, so are you telling Me the gaming rights to The Simpsons was sold to Newscorp? Because it was EA that released that iPhone imatation of Simpsons Arcade that *2bcont.*
@Thenumber1yoshi No, I was stating that Newscorp held the distributing rights of licensing out Simpsons related product and merchandise. I had assumed that they, more than EA were the reason why Simpsons Arcade has never seen the light of day as a downloadable on any of the current gen systems.
@jstephenj *Continued* that released that iPhone imatation of Simpsons Arcade that only carries the same name the only stuff kept the same is Binky being in the level introductions and the blow up your balloon minigame (which is no longer against mooks but rather some familair characters) other than that it's nothing like the Konami one, Konami needs whoever holds the rights to make Simpsons games green light in order to release it and you can see how much the current game right holders *2bcont
@jstephenj and you can see how much current game right holder can interfere with the classics just look at what Ubisoft did to the XBLA port to Turtles in time (I mean they released that Re-shelled version instead of the SNES or true Arcade version) I mean almost nothing in it remained completely untouched. So yeah whoever holds the gaming rights to a franchise can most certainly have a say in what happens to a game made by a different company who used to hold the gaming rights to a franchise.
@Thenumber1yoshi That's a shame then, because the game would probably generate a respectable earning among nostalgia and casual gamers alike.
Looking back at arcade gaming back then, Konami had quite an amazing run by producing licensing vehicles like Simpsons, Aliens and the X-Men, but its probably biting them in the ass today. I always found Konami's arcade beat em ups to be more vibrant and fun than the ones that were being produced by Capcom, which often were transmited on raster screens
@Thenumber1yoshi That being said, I really think that because of this, that Konami had a slight edge over Capcom before they struck oil with Street Fighter 2.
@Thenumber1yoshi I dare say that alot of the arcade games that were released by Konami during this time have as much nostalgic value as games such as Ms. Pac-Man, Joust, Smash TV, Galaga, Ultimate MK 3, ect. -- all of which are downloadable today. The fact that today's consoles are more than up to the task of handing games like Simpsons or Aliens makes their absence conspicuous to say the least.
@jstephenj Well at least XBOX 360 owners are lucky enough to have the first TMNT Arcade game and any kind of version of Turtles in Time the only TMNT game released for the Wii is the crappy first one for the NES, they haven't even released any of Konami's beat em' up arcades (original versions or port) at least not the ones I've played, so I had to download the first Arcade TMNT to our family's XBOX 360 but I would be nice to have it on the Wii and I'd even put up with friend codes for *2bcont.*
@jstephenj I'd even put up with friend codes for online play because to Me that would be a very small price to pay to have someone be able to play it with Me on My Wii but I guess its best I'm able to play on console I don't own but can still play than no console at all. And I have to agree I do love Konami's beat em' ups more than anyone else's the two TMNT ones are very fun plus they added an extra level in the SNES version of Turtles in time and made the plot make more sense *2bcont.*
@jstephenj have the plot make more sense by changing the part where Shredder timewarps the Turtles having it take place in the Technodrome rather than have it happen at random in Sewer Surfin' and there were extra bosses, though one thing that irked Me is most of the stuff that was meant to give you laughs in Turtles in Time came at the cost of you taking damage there was almost no kind of humor thing in there that would not cost you your health *2bcont.*
@jstephenj *Continued* Still despite that I still love Turtles in Time but my favorite Arcade game by Konami and My favorite Beat em' up and favorite arcade game in general is Konami's Simpsons Arcade game, I have to agree that I would love to see the original on XBLA, or Wiiware,. It has a lot of gags and there are some where you don't even need to take damage to see them I liked that, Konami's Simpsons Arcade had a pretty good difficulty curve & I agree about your Konami arcade statments.
@Thenumber1yoshi Here's what I can't understand with the Simpsons. It seems odd that Electronic Arts is entitled to royalties from a game that they never had a hand in developing. It would be like a music artist staking claim to an Elvis Presley song that they had covered 20 years ago.
The recent announcement of X-Men Arcade coming to both Xbox and Playstation Network was only made possible because a deal was able to be made with Activision. Again, very ass backwards in my opinion.
@jstephenj Well I don't really understand it either but it was EA that made that iPhone imatation and Ubisoft al;so got credited for both versions of the TMNT Arcade games and messed with the Turtles in Time port, I don't get it either but I guess I need to look into this more.
One of the greatest arcade titles ever, and IMO probably the best multiplayer arcade title period. Better than MERCs, better than X-Men, and certainly better than Konami's Simpson's version of this engine. I could not get enough of this game when it came out. The highway and final stages were epic; a graphical and aural tour de force at the time. This thing has immense replay value.
tell me about it. i got a copy of battle nexus 2 for the ps2 in the hope of playing the original arcade game but was gutted to find i had to play through the crap battle nexus game.
@Aetas3000 How exactly are they ruining it? With the exception of the first live action movie, the original show never caught the feel of the original comics, especially when it came to the character of Raphael, who in the comics, the movies(well, 1 and the most recent CGI) and current cartoons, is portrayed as the badass of the team.
Nothing against the old show, it was enjoyable, but nothing today ruins the TMNT. In fact, today just returns them to their roots.
wondering if someone can help me with an arcade game title....basically it's a beat 'um up like streets of rage, final fight, TMNT turtle type game, but the playable characters are kids on roller skates, skateboard and a bicycle...and i don't remember the title, help please
Wow the arcade version looks ALOT better than the NES one, I dont just mean the graphics I know the NES could never handle this. Still a classic game for NES though
nah it's all good...I actually just found out about it myself a couple days before I made that post. MAME is an arcade emulator that you can use to play old arcade roms...keep in mind that most (if not all) of these games are merely emulations and not full ports. You can google it...there are plenty of emulator sites out there which I'm sure will have it.
Ok...moving to the next question once you have MAME where do you or someone get the games from? Are there some sites? Excuse all the questions but im really interested in trying to set this up..lol
Like MrRoboto said, MAME is emulator that allows you to play the ROM files containing the games. Most of these games are 100% complete, while some miss the audio tracks, some have graphics glitches, etc...
It is an awesome way to play all those arcade hits that kept the arcade places packed like sardines.
men i have good memories of this game my record in team with my cousin was the hole game in 16 minutes and 34 seconds the time we do that we got like 10 bucks on change each one we were so happy cuz we can only play it when we go to the market
As a kid, I'd go crazy whenever I see this game (Theaters,Pizza place, etc).

This is my favorite TMNT game (seconded by TMNT 2: Turtles in time :D)

At times I wonder why neither the NES version of this game (I hold that version in My heart dearly as I used to play it with My Dad as a kid he'd be Don while I'd be Mikey and we'd play through the entire game from start to finish and he also knew the nine lives cheat I hold it dearly because he died when I was just barely starting High School) or the actual Arcade version of this game as well as Turtles in Time for both Arcade and the SNES one are not on Wii Virtual Console *2bcont.*
Thenumber1yoshi 2 years ago
*Continued from My last comment* are not on Virtual Console or Wii Virtual Console Arcade, I mean if it can be on XBLA then why can't this be on Wii Virtual Console Arcade and don't get Me started on why the NES version of this game as well as the SNES version of Turtles in Time and the Arcade version of it aren't on there either. I mean I understand The Simpsons Arcade game (My favorite Arcade game I also played with My dad) has license issues but the least they could do is release *2bcont.*
Thenumber1yoshi 2 years ago
but the least they could do is release any version of this or Turtles in Time on the Wii since they did so for XBOX or if it's Nintendo thats being pushy I'll say I'm upset with them for yet another thing. I mean the only TMNT game thats on the Wii is the first one that was released on the NES which wasn't even that good. I mean I'm getting a little impaitent waiting for some actual games I would like on Wii Virtual Console Arcade so I can stop playing the piracy way.
Thenumber1yoshi 2 years ago
so basically you can only you can only download this game and turtles in time on the xbox360?
P.S. Sorry to hear about your dad i know yall had fun playin that game together
fightlover187 1 year ago
@fightlover187 Yeah pretty much the only old TMNT game they have on Wii VC from back then is the crappy first console one for the NES. They don't have the NES version of the Arcade game which I used to play with My Dad or the Arcade or SNES version of Turtles in Time in fact I haven't seen any of the old Konami beat em' up arcades on Wii VC Arcade *2bcont.*
Thenumber1yoshi 1 year ago
@fightlover187 *Continued* And yes Xbox has this game on their service but I'm unsure about PSN and even if it is on there it wouldn't matter as My family can't afford a PS3. Anyways I'd probably skip out on XBLA Arcade's version of Turtles in time. The Re-shelled one as it's called as I have not heard very many good things about it. *2bcont.*
Thenumber1yoshi 1 year ago
@fightlover187 *Continued* Anyways I think they could probably release the original Arcade version or the SNES one or heck even both of those versions of Turtles in Time on the Wii and I really would like to see this version or the NES version of this arcade game here released on Wii VC Arcade I mean if they can be on XBOX why not the Wii.
Thenumber1yoshi 1 year ago
@fightlover187 *Continued and I'm sorry for the long comment i'll understand if anyone hates Me for it* Another Arcade game I'd like to see be released is My favorite one The Simpsons Arcade game but EA is too stubborn to actually let Konami release the real thing on any console service and they expect an iPhone imatation to fill that need. I mean that Arcade game isn't even on XBLA. Well Anyways sorry for the long comment once again.
Thenumber1yoshi 1 year ago
don't worry about the long comments and stuff and yea i already know that you can download this game and turtles in time on the xbox 360 don't make sense if you ask me but i aint triooin, i downloaded turtles in time for the bsnes emulator and tmnt hyperstone heist for the sega fusion emulator so im good at this point
fightlover187 1 year ago
@Thenumber1yoshi I also have something to add to this. Why can't talented Japanese developers such as Konami can no longer do videogames that are based off of American cartoon, movie, comic book and toy franchises? Is it because we won't let them? Or is it that the Japanese hate cartoons or anything American made? Or, is it because of import costs?
MysticArksRevenge 1 year ago
@MysticArksRevenge Yeah about that, Konami actually did develop a few games based off of the modern TMNT series when it was still fairly new and still more gritty than most of what the Saturday morning shows that were done by 4Kids, and they weren't very good games, but back then they were the only ways you could play the TMNT arcade games on a console since XBLA didn't have them yet and the music and voices for the Arcade versions of the game were changed in those versions. *2bcont.*
Thenumber1yoshi 1 year ago
@MysticArksRevenge *Continued* I'm not sure what happend but either Konami lost their touch with making TMNT games or just wasn't trying as hard, anyways I hate the fact that they won't release the Arcade or NES version of the first TMNT arcade game on the Wii Virtual Console or Wiiware and hate the fact that neither the Arcade version or SNES version of Turtles in Time has been released. And wish EA wasn't so stubborn to let Konami release The real Simpsons Arcade game on any of the *2bcont.*
Thenumber1yoshi 1 year ago
@Thenumber1yoshi Or maybe it is because Konami and Japanese developers just don't give a rat's ass about American franchises anymore. I swear, if it is one thing I hate about Japan, it is their stuck-up and their EXTREMELY aggressive attitudes.
MysticArksRevenge 1 year ago
@MysticArksRevenge Whoa don't insult all the Japanese as one of My friends on Animal Crossing is Japanese and she was really nice to Me and gave Me stuff that was available only in Japan in Animal Crossing, Anyways I hate the fact that EA is too stubborn to let Konami release the real Simpsons Arcade Game on any of the console services also for the record conerning Konami's Simpsons Arcade game the reason they couldn't make another or release it on a console was because FOX sold the *2bcont.*
Thenumber1yoshi 1 year ago
@Thenumber1yoshi Oh, OK. I just wish that the Japanese published and developed licensed games again. Here are my ideas for who should do games:
Koei-Tecmo should do the licensed games based off of 20th Century Fox, Universal Pictures, Columbia Pictures, Sony Pictures Animation, Discovery Kids, Teletoon, YTV, and all other cartoon and movie franchises,
Konami would do WB, Cartoon Network, and, Hanna-Barbera franchises,
Capcom would do Disney-Pixar games
*2bcont.*
MysticArksRevenge 1 year ago
@Thenumber1yoshi Natsume would do Disney Channel, Disney XD, and Playhouse Disney games
Taito would do Paramount, Nickelodeon and Nicktoons based games (with broken Engrish of course)
MysticArksRevenge 1 year ago
@MysticArksRevenge was because FOX sold the game rights to Acclaim before Konami had a chance to do anything and Acclaim made some pretty terrible Simpsons games for all consoles and handhelds back then. Concerning TMNT at least Ubisoft and Konami were willing to put differences aside in order to release the true first Arcade game on XBLA in time for the TMNT movie that was in the theaters at the time.
Thenumber1yoshi 1 year ago
@Thenumber1yoshi Un my opinion, 2007, the year that Fox released Simpsons: The Movie is when XBox Live Arcade should have made the Konami Simpsons coinop a downloadable. Konami and Capcom did so many licensed arcade coinops, they must be hitting themselves over the head today knowing that they can't capitalize on them -- particularly Konami, who outside licensed IP's, really didn't have alot of memorable arcade originals.
jstephenj 1 year ago
@Thenumber1yoshi With Capcom ushering in the fighting genre with Street Fighter 2, Konami sort of lost their way beginning in the early 1990's. They were never really able to adapt to a demographic that had embraced Street Fighter and Mortal Kombat, and they continued to struggle as 2D fighters began to give way to 3D fighters and racing titles.
jstephenj 1 year ago
@jstephenj Yeah I think they should have at least released it during the Simpsons Movie or at least during the Simpsons 20th (do I have that right it was their 20th right?) anniversary but like I said EA is way too stubborn to actually let Konami release the real thing and instead all we got was an iPhone imatation thats nothing like the original and that goes around carrying the same name.
Thenumber1yoshi 1 year ago
@Thenumber1yoshi I had no idea that EA could have a hand in that decision, seeing as how they never even made the game to begin with. Wouldn't it make more sense that Newscorp have more of a say in that than Electronics Arts? And I agree with you about the 20th anniversary remark. Releasing it last year or this year would have been ideal. Is EA afraid that the game might perform better as a downloadable than what they're offering?
jstephenj 1 year ago
@jstephenj Anyone who currently holds the gaming rights to the franchise most certainly does have a big say in what gets released. In fact Ubisoft who had the gaming rights to the Ninja Turtles had involvement with both Ninja Turtles games being released on XBLA as you see them credited in the opening logos along with Konami, so are you telling Me the gaming rights to The Simpsons was sold to Newscorp? Because it was EA that released that iPhone imatation of Simpsons Arcade that *2bcont.*
Thenumber1yoshi 1 year ago
@Thenumber1yoshi No, I was stating that Newscorp held the distributing rights of licensing out Simpsons related product and merchandise. I had assumed that they, more than EA were the reason why Simpsons Arcade has never seen the light of day as a downloadable on any of the current gen systems.
jstephenj 1 year ago
@jstephenj *Continued* that released that iPhone imatation of Simpsons Arcade that only carries the same name the only stuff kept the same is Binky being in the level introductions and the blow up your balloon minigame (which is no longer against mooks but rather some familair characters) other than that it's nothing like the Konami one, Konami needs whoever holds the rights to make Simpsons games green light in order to release it and you can see how much the current game right holders *2bcont
Thenumber1yoshi 1 year ago
@jstephenj and you can see how much current game right holder can interfere with the classics just look at what Ubisoft did to the XBLA port to Turtles in time (I mean they released that Re-shelled version instead of the SNES or true Arcade version) I mean almost nothing in it remained completely untouched. So yeah whoever holds the gaming rights to a franchise can most certainly have a say in what happens to a game made by a different company who used to hold the gaming rights to a franchise.
Thenumber1yoshi 1 year ago
@Thenumber1yoshi That's a shame then, because the game would probably generate a respectable earning among nostalgia and casual gamers alike.
Looking back at arcade gaming back then, Konami had quite an amazing run by producing licensing vehicles like Simpsons, Aliens and the X-Men, but its probably biting them in the ass today. I always found Konami's arcade beat em ups to be more vibrant and fun than the ones that were being produced by Capcom, which often were transmited on raster screens
jstephenj 1 year ago
@Thenumber1yoshi That being said, I really think that because of this, that Konami had a slight edge over Capcom before they struck oil with Street Fighter 2.
jstephenj 1 year ago
@Thenumber1yoshi I dare say that alot of the arcade games that were released by Konami during this time have as much nostalgic value as games such as Ms. Pac-Man, Joust, Smash TV, Galaga, Ultimate MK 3, ect. -- all of which are downloadable today. The fact that today's consoles are more than up to the task of handing games like Simpsons or Aliens makes their absence conspicuous to say the least.
jstephenj 1 year ago
@jstephenj Well at least XBOX 360 owners are lucky enough to have the first TMNT Arcade game and any kind of version of Turtles in Time the only TMNT game released for the Wii is the crappy first one for the NES, they haven't even released any of Konami's beat em' up arcades (original versions or port) at least not the ones I've played, so I had to download the first Arcade TMNT to our family's XBOX 360 but I would be nice to have it on the Wii and I'd even put up with friend codes for *2bcont.*
Thenumber1yoshi 1 year ago
@jstephenj I'd even put up with friend codes for online play because to Me that would be a very small price to pay to have someone be able to play it with Me on My Wii but I guess its best I'm able to play on console I don't own but can still play than no console at all. And I have to agree I do love Konami's beat em' ups more than anyone else's the two TMNT ones are very fun plus they added an extra level in the SNES version of Turtles in time and made the plot make more sense *2bcont.*
Thenumber1yoshi 1 year ago
@jstephenj have the plot make more sense by changing the part where Shredder timewarps the Turtles having it take place in the Technodrome rather than have it happen at random in Sewer Surfin' and there were extra bosses, though one thing that irked Me is most of the stuff that was meant to give you laughs in Turtles in Time came at the cost of you taking damage there was almost no kind of humor thing in there that would not cost you your health *2bcont.*
Thenumber1yoshi 1 year ago
@jstephenj *Continued* Still despite that I still love Turtles in Time but my favorite Arcade game by Konami and My favorite Beat em' up and favorite arcade game in general is Konami's Simpsons Arcade game, I have to agree that I would love to see the original on XBLA, or Wiiware,. It has a lot of gags and there are some where you don't even need to take damage to see them I liked that, Konami's Simpsons Arcade had a pretty good difficulty curve & I agree about your Konami arcade statments.
Thenumber1yoshi 1 year ago
@Thenumber1yoshi Here's what I can't understand with the Simpsons. It seems odd that Electronic Arts is entitled to royalties from a game that they never had a hand in developing. It would be like a music artist staking claim to an Elvis Presley song that they had covered 20 years ago.
The recent announcement of X-Men Arcade coming to both Xbox and Playstation Network was only made possible because a deal was able to be made with Activision. Again, very ass backwards in my opinion.
jstephenj 1 year ago
@jstephenj Well I don't really understand it either but it was EA that made that iPhone imatation and Ubisoft al;so got credited for both versions of the TMNT Arcade games and messed with the Turtles in Time port, I don't get it either but I guess I need to look into this more.
Thenumber1yoshi 1 year ago
One of the greatest arcade titles ever, and IMO probably the best multiplayer arcade title period. Better than MERCs, better than X-Men, and certainly better than Konami's Simpson's version of this engine. I could not get enough of this game when it came out. The highway and final stages were epic; a graphical and aural tour de force at the time. This thing has immense replay value.

tell me about it. i got a copy of battle nexus 2 for the ps2 in the hope of playing the original arcade game but was gutted to find i had to play through the crap battle nexus game.
8589brian 2 years ago
@Aetas3000 How exactly are they ruining it? With the exception of the first live action movie, the original show never caught the feel of the original comics, especially when it came to the character of Raphael, who in the comics, the movies(well, 1 and the most recent CGI) and current cartoons, is portrayed as the badass of the team.
Nothing against the old show, it was enjoyable, but nothing today ruins the TMNT. In fact, today just returns them to their roots.

Ok dont laugh because I maybe a little behind in times but what is MAME and How do you obtain it?
loulou3t 2 years ago
nah it's all good...I actually just found out about it myself a couple days before I made that post. MAME is an arcade emulator that you can use to play old arcade roms...keep in mind that most (if not all) of these games are merely emulations and not full ports. You can google it...there are plenty of emulator sites out there which I'm sure will have it.
MrRoboto81 2 years ago
Ok...moving to the next question once you have MAME where do you or someone get the games from? Are there some sites? Excuse all the questions but im really interested in trying to set this up..lol
loulou3t 2 years ago
Like MrRoboto said, MAME is emulator that allows you to play the ROM files containing the games. Most of these games are 100% complete, while some miss the audio tracks, some have graphics glitches, etc...
It is an awesome way to play all those arcade hits that kept the arcade places packed like sardines.
