Of course the prime irony about the so-called Tea Party is the fact that they were happy as clams while the Bush League were racking up the biggest budget deficits in history, destroying constitutional rights to privacy, inventing bogus wars by lying to the public and Congress, running the economy down into the worst depression since 1929, giving tax relief to oil companies, denigrating green technologies, breaking clean water and air laws, helping ship jobs to communist China... Just laugh.

I don't know why Liberals are so hard on Lou Dobbs. He was pretty outspoken about his oppossition against the war and bush's foreign policy. He's independent. sometimes it seems that both sides are unwilling to hear reason.
That's a fair point about liberals being hard on Dobbs. However, I think Dobbs has his head in the sand concerning the "grass roots" nature of these tea bag protests.
All you have to do is watch the commercials for it on Fox to realize it's not grassroots. As far as I can remember, MoveOn NEVER had television sponsorship like that for any of it's protests. The comparison of the two is inaccurate.
tea bagging. what an embarrassment for the republican party, like that jindal character. everything they do backfires on them.

What would be embarrassing is not having the discipline to refrain from making sexually explicit jokes when discussing serious issues.
If you want respect from anyone, start with having respect for yourself.
"Oh, Republicans THIS" and "The Democrats THAT". Get over it, please. Political parties are an illusion. Individuals do what they want and because anyone else is associated with them through that party....
Well, do you know what the people who founded this country thought about Democracy? They thought it was a SHAM. A fake. An oxymoron.
You can look up quotes... our country has never been a Democracy, but a Republic. "The Republicans" is just two words trying to label every single person out there. It's stereotyping in a political way.
If you're voting for someone because of the party they're in.... I don't know what to tell you. Every person is different, and you can't judge on that
when it comes to putting into practice their patriotism, they have a poor way of showing it.
I was appalled at the way Bush and the republicans handled the Katrina crisis. Such ineptitude and a lack of concern for their fellow man! And he calls himself a christian. Look at the comments made by barbara bush over the living conditions of those people in the astrodome. She got herself a very good laugh out of it and I'm sure the rest of that family and most republicans feel the same way
I agree with you. I think a lot of so-called Republicans are hypocrites and liars. Bush especially. I mean really, I live and have grown up in very Democrat, New York... so I'm very prone to agree with you.
What I'm saying is that I don't like either party. I think people should be judged individually instead of what they "are". Ya know?
Like I said, I just don't look at things in terms of Red and Blue, Dem&Repub, This or That.
and then to top it off, republicans act as tho they're doing us a big favor defending the country as if it's something only they can do the right way! This is despite the failure of allowing terrorists in and successfully carrying out 911
I'm sorry but with this level of poor service, I cant afford to vote republican.
For example, Ron Paul is a "Republican", but he's nothing close to McCain or Bush... Republicans today don't stand true to what they used to.
I mean really, Ron Paul is more of a Libertarian. But because people can only see in terms of Blue or Red, he was forced to accept the next closest title. They're just words.
The fact that you think this is about tax increases shows that you are an informed kool aid drinker. It is about the spending - it is about fiscal responsibility on the part of Congress.
fiscal responsibility? i would think the conservative party would be blushing when that subject was even brought up the way they threw money down the toilet like there is no tommorow. Bush said the oil revenues were going to come back to us taxpayers. Where is it?
Your party is a disaster. Your party will never get back into power. Your reputation is so marred now, no one wants to be associated with you, let alone listen to what you have to say
We don't give a shit about seceding and you do. A lot of ppl don't know that word, and you aren't that smart don't flatter yourself. If you were smart then you would know that Texas seceding would be a mistake. We don't need Texas anyway it sucks gigantic bull balls.

When you vote for someone like G.W.Bush who was never president material, who is a global socialist helping Iraq citizens before helping his own, you get what you deserve. How dare you judge the reaction of the current president to an action of the same irresponsible past president that you stupidly elected in the first place.
All of you anti-government RIGHT-WING morons need to take a very close look at what we in the U.S. Military are capable of doing to you. We are the guys you are going to be up against during your little "revolution". Hey Texas! You want to succeed from the union? Go for it! I dare you!
paolli your a fucking idiot if something like that happened and you helped the government you broke the oath you took and your not a U.S. soldier in anyones eyes. We the People not we the Kings.

I have no idea why having congressmen speak at the tea partys, would change the meaning of the event. You will have to enlighten me to your train of thought.

I can give some rational. The govt does NOT want people to come together and protest what the govt is doing. Fox and MSNBC are shitheads. This is the govt tactic of "Divide and Conquer" using the media. Using Fox as the right to protest tax, and using MSNBC as the left to ridicule the right, so the left want get involve in the protest. I don't like the congressmen and media infiltrating a human rights protest to spin the media's coverage of the event. Its disgusting. But greedy people cant help but sink their fat fingers into an opportunity.
Greedy people cant help but sink their fat fingers into an opportunity? I agree. But that is NOT a reason to let the GOP leaders and their puppets at Foxnews capitalize on the movement we started without their help. That said, I decided this morning to listen to my personal hero Dr. Ron Paul and do what he recommended us on Tuesday: STAY AT HOME and ORGANIZE ANOTHER Tea Party AFTER the Republicans are done with their BROUHAHA!!!
Exactly. I'm not arguing with bobhardball. I totally agree. I live in Atlanta GA. I tried to argue with the organizers of the teaparty to NOT allow Hannity to participate by only cover the event. The govt wants to have only Dems/Reps. The govt is using the media to keep 3rd party Libertarians in the shadows. This is going to be the Republicans attempt to gain as a political party again, so the govt can maintain a 1 party 2 factions govt. You know the saying "2s a couple, 3s a crowd".
We Libertarians and Ron Paul supporters had the idea for Tea Party events in 2007. obama is only going to raise taxes on people making over $250K .this increased tax rate on the the wealthy is actually less than the ronald reagan tax rate on the wealthy. so how do republicans (like DOBBS) whine about the large deficit, & whine about tax rates on the rich & whine about the stimulus spending at the same time ? yet all the GOP governors (Jindal, palin, pawlenty) take ALL the stimulus spending offered to their states (Alaska, Louisiana & Minn)?
You obviously havent read the plan. He is planning to tax everyone, for anything, even whipping your arse will be taxed (sadly im not kidding) and he has already destroyed your wealth through hyper-inflation.
squiffel..americans should pay more taxes...to pay off the debt that GWB buried the USA in....by going to war in iraq....the only way to pay off the debt is more taxes.....or less government spending.....which is not a viable alternative b/c in order to get the economy sparked the govt needs to increase spending...as consumer spending and spending by businesses are way down.....BTW, FDR's NEW DEA was a success....its a GOP/FOX myth that the NEW DEAL was not successful.
America is in debt yes, and the only way to pay off that debt is by taxes, yes.
But you can't enforce new high taxes while a economy is in a depression. You will completely cut off the productivity of the nation. They will have to stop taxing the citizens and stop regulating every transaction until the people create a stable and productive economy which will then be capable of paying off the debt and mistakes of our presidents
Obamas plan will cripple the economy and slow down our recovery
And about the raises in cell phones...STOP TALKING SO MUCH!!! I see people glued to their cell phones. Young girls look naked without a cell phone on their ear, kids are on the phone all day and everywhere people blab in their cell phones. Enough. If they raise the tax 33% then speak half as much. You will save money and there are studies that say cell phones may cause cancer or something nasty. They surely cause ear problems. I don't have a cell phone and I don't need it.
I always knew Republicans wanted to inject themselves into the bedrooms of every American but "TEABAGGING" wow they really are a bunch of kinky freaks!
There was a grass roots movement, it was called the Ron Paul Revolution. Unfortunately this movement has been hijacked by the jackbooted thugs of the republican party. The movement has changed, it is showing the strains of those new members (shills) who flocked to us after McCains defeat. We talked of revolution, they talk of armed revolution, we talked of the constitution and rule of law, they talk of the value of torture, how America is the law.
THIS GUY IS SUCH A FRAUD!!!... MR. INDEPENDENT!!!.. lmaooo Hey, Lou Dobbs... YOU'RE THE BIGGEST UNDER COVER RIGHT WING NUT I'VE EVER ENCOUNTER. Seriously, you should leave CNN go work for FOX NEWS, it worked out just fine for Glenn Beck. Believe me, those nuts over there need you. YOU FRAUD.
go ahead saport the banks big oil insurance companys and so on got to love repubs one minute they want to shoot these people the next they want them to get tax cuts you are very weird people they got 3times the cuts from bush while middle class got none now middle class gets cuts from obama and rich banks and oil get taxed less than reagan and your complaining sick reduds tax might I say. repubs put tons of spendning in bill and then vote no dumb wimps sick of it think repubs think!!!
if its a few million joining in then likely it was partly their fault.
There arent too many fiscally sound americans.
Besides, it may not be your fault, but when your robbed because somebody who cant get a job in this depression needs to eat, you see how you like it on your island.
Desperate people do desperate things and we are trying to keep people from getting into such situations.
You are not an island and you wanting to believe that doesnt make it so.
maybe im alone here but i think the basic IDEA of the original boston tea party doesnt really apply AT ALL to our current situtation - wasnt it taxation without representation? - thats what i thought it was about, but hey its cute isnt it? thats all they got left, rofl
what deliberation is put forward??? even you have no deliberation. just weak talking points, i havnt seen hannity or o'reilly tonight; which one of them, if not both said that? the real debate goes on within the democrats (socialists/communists to you) and the current republican party does nothing, nothing . . . just lies to the 15% of imbeciles out there so they can repeat it the next day. forget a 2 party system --- there is one party which tries and another who just lies
no, you are wrong in that taxation without deliberation isnt like the original tea party reasoning and that was what the parent poster was pointing out.
It's also more broadly about the control of trade with the "far east", specifically China. It's wrapped up in tax policy and the engagement by the British Empire in various colonial wars. The North American colonists wanted to be able to have their own companies to trade with China and their own tariff arrangements.
lol well... that would be stupid, I mean... he's killing all his CNN people with Ratings as an Independent, why would he want to go to Con's and be the worst on ratings list?
well at least over on Fox he could pretend to be the "voice of reason". Hanging with the likes of Hannity, O'Reilly, and Beck he'd look like the sanest of the bunch.
lol ic, Im conservative and I completely understand other's point-of-views, what makes you say Beck, Hannity and O'Reilly arent in their right minds?
I dont agree with Obama's ideas but I understand what he's coming at, tax and balance the budget while cons think less tax and less budget (with the exception of the Failure named Bush)
funny how republican Ronald Reagan had a worse tax plan much higher on rich obamas is like clintons when he made it so our debt was almost nill after bush spent so much redneck republicans did ya go to school look up how much reagan tax plan was may I also ad that if you know anyone on medicare you best get them off it becuase it is a socialist program so might want to suport there meds and doctors your self babies!! obama the most awsome pres we have had since reagan whom i voted for as well.
I hear Obama is spending more money then all our past presidents combined. If this is true, maybe someone on here can post some numbers, I think you need to rethink your love affair with the Obama administration. No disrespect intended.
You hear wrong. Just think about it. Obama's been in office for nine months. He could not possibly have spent more than Bush did in eight years, especially with two wars. And indeed, the numbers bear the intuition out. Compare the annual federal budgets if you'd like.
Having a hard time reading, hayseed? I said I don't like Obama. I don't care for extending credit lines to big banks, and I think the monetary policy of this administration, in conjunction with the Fed's policies on interests rates, is scandalous.
1. Tea bagging means putting your balls on someone else's face.
2. Sending a teabag to the White House and getting together with friends isn't what the Boston Tea Party was about. It was about unified revolt, not partisan whining.
it's too bad we can't have a "magic camera" that could show us what would have happened if there were no bailouts whatsoever -WHICH BTW STARTED WHILE BUSH WAS IN OFFICE! Theoretically, if the government had done nothing and let the chips fall where they may, we'd be in MUCH deeper crap right now- That said, BOTH administrations should have put serious restrictions on those bailouts and demanded serious accountability. Meanwhile, service taxes are nothing new and have been going up for decades.

You obviously havent read the plan. He is planning to tax everyone, for anything, even whipping your arse will be taxed (sadly im not kidding) and he has already destroyed your wealth through hyper-inflation.
Do not defend this man.

squiffel..americans should pay more taxes...to pay off the debt that GWB buried the USA in....by going to war in iraq....the only way to pay off the debt is more taxes.....or less government spending.....which is not a viable alternative b/c in order to get the economy sparked the govt needs to increase spending...as consumer spending and spending by businesses are way down.....BTW, FDR's NEW DEA was a success....its a GOP/FOX myth that the NEW DEAL was not successful.
jrebstock 2 years ago

There was a grass roots movement, it was called the Ron Paul Revolution. Unfortunately this movement has been hijacked by the jackbooted thugs of the republican party. The movement has changed, it is showing the strains of those new members (shills) who flocked to us after McCains defeat. We talked of revolution, they talk of armed revolution, we talked of the constitution and rule of law, they talk of the value of torture, how America is the law.
we let them corrupt our image. Shame on the C4L

This is pretty absurd. Do either of these two people know anything about the subject they are reporting on?
CitizenWorm 2 years ago
which 2?
Because i am being confused by it all.
I get what the original tea party was about, but I dont get anything about these new age tea parties besides that they are great for jokes.
Teabagging, lol
Sheesh, conservatives make themselves so easy to laugh at. They write the jokes themselves.
And I think they have too many messages being put forth under these tea parties.
I have heard a few reasons for them and yet now I hear another, this no taxation without deliberation, and I dont get it.
waltermh111 2 years ago
they dont want to pay taxes to help get bail ppl out and pay debt when it wasnt their fault in the first place
graidstin 2 years ago 2
if its a few million joining in then likely it was partly their fault.

No the Idea in the current times are "NO TAXATION WITHOUGHT DELIBERATION", clearly your not paying attention moron!

NO TAXATION WITHOUGHT DELIBERATION
Thanks for clarifying that.
Nutrino2179 2 years ago
What do taxes even have to do with this?
Its the same level of taxes you are paying this year that you paid the last few years under bush.
So taxation cant be the problem or your people would have been in arms against bush, but you werent.
It cant be about the bailout because that was started over 6 months ago, and yet its only now happening?
Maybe yall are just so bad at doing grass roots that it took that long to plan?
I havent even heard your without deliberation line before now
waltermh111 2 years ago
what deliberation is put forward??? even you have no deliberation. just weak talking points, i havnt seen hannity or o'reilly tonight; which one of them, if not both said that? the real debate goes on within the democrats (socialists/communists to you) and the current republican party does nothing, nothing . . . just lies to the 15% of imbeciles out there so they can repeat it the next day. forget a 2 party system --- there is one party which tries and another who just lies
jarmtx 2 years ago 3
no, you are wrong in that taxation without deliberation isnt like the original tea party reasoning and that was what the parent poster was pointing out.
Its you who is not paying attention.
waltermh111 2 years ago
It's also more broadly about the control of trade with the "far east", specifically China. It's wrapped up in tax policy and the engagement by the British Empire in various colonial wars. The North American colonists wanted to be able to have their own companies to trade with China and their own tariff arrangements.

Lou should just move over to Fox.
I'm sure he'd be much happier there.

lol well... that would be stupid, I mean... he's killing all his CNN people with Ratings as an Independent, why would he want to go to Con's and be the worst on ratings list?
Johnrosssssss 2 years ago
well at least over on Fox he could pretend to be the "voice of reason". Hanging with the likes of Hannity, O'Reilly, and Beck he'd look like the sanest of the bunch.
integral 2 years ago
lol ic, Im conservative and I completely understand other's point-of-views, what makes you say Beck, Hannity and O'Reilly arent in their right minds?
I dont agree with Obama's ideas but I understand what he's coming at, tax and balance the budget while cons think less tax and less budget (with the exception of the Failure named Bush)
Johnrosssssss 2 years ago
funny how republican Ronald Reagan had a worse tax plan much higher on rich obamas is like clintons when he made it so our debt was almost nill after bush spent so much redneck republicans did ya go to school look up how much reagan tax plan was may I also ad that if you know anyone on medicare you best get them off it becuase it is a socialist program so might want to suport there meds and doctors your self babies!! obama the most awsome pres we have had since reagan whom i voted for as well.

I hear Obama is spending more money then all our past presidents combined. If this is true, maybe someone on here can post some numbers, I think you need to rethink your love affair with the Obama administration. No disrespect intended.
Cheers
bwhite890 2 years ago
You hear wrong. Just think about it. Obama's been in office for nine months. He could not possibly have spent more than Bush did in eight years, especially with two wars. And indeed, the numbers bear the intuition out. Compare the annual federal budgets if you'd like.
DrTimWhatley 2 years ago
Was 5 trillian now it's 11 trillian huhhh.....
bwhite890 2 years ago
First of all, it's trillion.
Second, you seem to be confusing debt with spending. I don't like Obama, but he hasn't spent $6 trillion as you're implying.
DrTimWhatley 2 years ago
Oh ya, thats right!! it's on credit, that makes it so much better.
There will be people who follow the devil right into the lake of fire, and you are one of those people.
bwhite890 2 years ago
Having a hard time reading, hayseed? I said I don't like Obama. I don't care for extending credit lines to big banks, and I think the monetary policy of this administration, in conjunction with the Fed's policies on interests rates, is scandalous.
Keep humping that Bible.

Tea bagging is stupid for 2 reasons:
1. Tea bagging means putting your balls on someone else's face.
2. Sending a teabag to the White House and getting together with friends isn't what the Boston Tea Party was about. It was about unified revolt, not partisan whining.
