@14janboy, hail is a common sign of a tornado. Not all tornadoes have hail and not all hail comes from tornadoes, however, this video came out right after a tornado hit Atlanta.

it's olde england lake, bout five mins from the intersection of stilesboro and mars hill. you're right, it wasn't a tornado.

going out into hail is dumb. also this storm and the atlanta tornoado were 2 different storms. the atlanta tornado hit after 4 pm mid march 2008. this was hail from feb 2008 because my house in gwinnett got hit with hail also and it didnt damage my dads car. also unrelated but my dad was about the leave for work when the hail hit.

sir, you are mistaken. this vid was recorded on the same day it was uploaded. I should know, I'm the guy yelling HAIL! HAIL! in the background haha. you said mid march 2008? check the upload date. march 15. besides, we were just kids having fun. you don't have to be such a professor about it.

maybe so but i also found some videos from like feburary about the severe storms that came through 1 after another on channel 2 and it was not the same day the tornado hit. but if there was a tornado, was time was this taken? the tornado wasnt caught on cam until 4:45 pm and it looked somewhat dark.

Aren't you aware that hail is a sign of impending doom when it comes to tornadoes, and you are outside playing. I agree, the way weather works is awesome, but you could admire it from a safer place, i.e. the basement, a room with no windows, on a not to hail stormy day on the weather channel? just a suggestion. I wonder how awesome it would have been if it had come down and swooped one of you up? Again, just a suggestion.

@youngestpilotinGa Cumulonimbus cloud is where hail comes from i dont think i need to explain how hail forms hopefully you aren't that stupid.....Cumulonimbus or thunderhead forms (which the hail comes from), a wall cloud if it forms under the thunderhead is where the tornado comes from.....Feel free to put some a statistic that shows that Tornadoes do not have hail associated with them. When they both come from the same cloud Cumulonimbus.

I agree with the previous post - you wouldn't think it so awesome had you been in the middle of one of those F2/F3 tornadoes that struck on Saturday. On the other hand, I do understand the emotions brought by these storms. I also live in Kennesaw & this storm, which I think was a funnel cloud, went over my backyard. I got the same hail & heavy rain but before it hit, I heard what I thought was an airplane approaching - it wasn't! It was a day for the record books, that's for sure!
