While many of us who were members of The Saint are dead (from AIDS or other medical problems), the majority of us are still very much alive. I spent 8 wonderful years of my life dancing in the space every week.
I thin it is the same like today Ibiza, go to Ibiza in the summertime. you see almost the same scens, and still smell Poppers and cum :-) didnt change much i think
Yes the Saint! Thank You for helping preserve the memories. The Black Party, Rick MC Shane, Leather Pride, The Saint, The Mine Shaft, J's, Cell Block, The Man Hole, Anvil, Crisco Disco Hell Fire, The Ram Rod, Keller's, At least we are still here to talk about it. Lenny Waller NYC.
I (not gay) was a regular member of the Saint. Fridays nights would be the better night than Saturdays nights. I would dance my ass off to the most outragious sound and light show. The dance floor would darken then the stars come out and spin around the ceiling in total darkness then the heavy bass from the speakers would go right into your chest "Release Yourself"!!!... The effect was just like the NYC Hayden Planetirium. Man, I miss it.
The video talks about the saint in the 70's but the it opened in 1980 and closed in 1988...........anyway what a place, only who went there knows what i am talking about, it was magical, the music was great, the crowd, everything......................THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME!!!!! AHAHAHAH
I have found memories of The Saint that was when New York City was so much fun. My first time was back in Jan of 1981. I could not believe the energy and the crowd. And yes the drugs you could get anything you wanted there funny that Meth and Xtasy were not even in vogue then. I got plenty of stories about The Saint. I'm so glad I was able to be part of that era.
The video talks about sex and drugs, but you could get that anywhere. What made The Saint astounding was its brilliant high-tech design. The planetarium over the dance floor made you feel like you were flying through infinite space. Photographs never capture the sensation or scale.
I really miss The Saint. There never will ever be a place like it again. I went there for years and it was an experience like no other. The freedom to do whatever you want. It was a gay man's playground with the hottest music, the best of the best DJ's, not to mention all the star performances. I was there for the closing and we all felt a deep feeling of loss when it closed. If anyone who reads this and was there, knows what I'm talking about.
Listen that horrid black fag talking about popper and washing cum... he probably died of Aids soon afterwards

@bscottb8 A planetarium over the dance floor! OMG, that must've been heaven.

@jealousofmypuddin It was mind-blowing the first time you experienced the place, like being at the center of the universe surrounded by muscle gods.
