  • sounds like it's been used in star trek iv

  • havent heard this for 25years,,,,still good today as it was back in the day

  • Its too good! \o/

  • super super super

  • Edgar was an Artist before he was a musician. TD was putting his art to music. His major influence, with a passion, was Salvadore Dali.

  • very good!

  • pretty much wore this tape out...starting to get that staticky sound in bits but not sounding stretched and it's ONLY 20+ years old and be to 4 continents. It's outlasted many tape decks.

  • one of my longtime favorite bands but i must say the graphics leave something to be desired

  • omg the first synt.... lol

  • DEAR NEVER BELIEVE IN GOD and Demons! I AM YOU ARE WE! SOME JUST WANT TO NON DYNAMIC NATURE OF OUR FUTURE TO INVEST IN THEM! WHEN THE ARTISTS IN OUR tow! ALL WITH RESPECT TO YOUR VIEW!

  • @uriahheep108 respected your opinion! I was just a video compositions and musical mine describes what annoys me around, my sound is the emotional expression and hope through positive expression WISH! σε ευχαριστω παντος που μου εκφρασες την σεβαστη παντα αποψη σου !!

  • @uriahheep108 lol Leo Zagami

  • @MrMusicofthesoul Have we succeeded? We think so. Before long we shall have covered with our narratives an enormous period of time; between the "Comtesse de Salisbury' and the "Comte de Monte Christo" five centuries and a half are compresed. Well, we assert that we have taught France as much history about those five centuries and a half as any historian. This passage is from The Companions of Jehu which was written by Alexandre Dumas pere.

  • @MrMusicofthesoul "If we were merely dealing with the law of averages, half of the events affecting our nation's well-being should be good for America. If we were dealing with mere incompetence, our leaders should occasionally make a mistake in our favor. We . . . are not dealing with coincidence or stupidity, but with planning and brilliance."

  • @uriahheep108 could you just stop spamming all TD vids with the same comments?

  • @uriahheep108 Not an original thought in your head is there?

  • It's like Klaus Shulze ^^

  • loopy

  • I am proud to say TD was my first concert I went to back in 1982...or there abouts. Brilliant!!!

  • PF mentioned TD in one of their songs....so its really complementary in both ways

  • Re specsaver44:

Dancing got nothing to do with it.

  • @inkysteve

    This sucks!

  • Amazing

  • "It has been stated" FYI; TD was created in 1967, the same year PF's first album appeared. Edgar Froese, founder of TD has never stated PF was inspirational for TD, quite on the contrary... Sid Barret was aware of the existance of TD and drew a lot of his spacy way of composing from that knowledge. TD drew it's inspiration a.o. from surrealism and composers like Conrad Schnitzler. So read up on your shit before posting things like "It has been stated..." ;-)

  • @KrisKenis Also, Edgar was quite taken with surrealism in Salvadore Dali's artwork and in the man himself, after playing a gig for him. Having seen a lot of Dali's artwork, I can see that Edgar may have been influenced, in the abstract style of Dali's interpretations of life as he saw it.

Ironically. PF's departure from doing covers and trying to do "pop" came after Gilmour replaced him in '68. Ummagumma in '69 is where that all started for PF. TD was about art; PF was about sound

  • how about we try to dance to it......

  • Song!!! an engineering fete more like it. Brilliant work..

  • at 9:43 does anyone else see a clown hanging himself?

  • @Scone54 i see it when i close my eyes sometimes.

  • Abstract art: the product of the untalented, sold by the unscrupulous, to the utterly bewildered.

It's the same with sound. No doubt Edgar & Co just wanted to 'get a reaction from the audience', the same crappy excuse used by those who can't paint or draw. So does a turd on the pavement, but it doesn't require any particular skill to put it there, as several million dogs will no doubt confirm!

  • @MSM4U2POM DERP

  • @jooseyloocy

    "DERP".

    ?

How fitting. Not content with music without a tune, we now have commentary from a genius who can't write! What the hell does 'DERP' mean?

  • :)

  • oddly epic.

  • I love the bud!!!

  • Encore:Cyclone:Force Majeure: What a trilogy !!! This track is almost like Electro Punk!

  • Encore:Cyclone:Force Majeure: What a trilogy !!!

  • Check also italian prog/space/jazz band Perigeo. And for the lovers of "mystical" sound I suggest a total re-discovering of German band Popol Vuh.

It's true: nobody makes music like this anymore!

  • Sorry, but am I the only one who noticed, that's only half the song?

It's supposed to take 20 minutes and end with a single violin...

  • All I can say is...wow. Thanx 4 upload trichoone

  • Nice!!!

Didn't know about Tangerine Dream until today!

(Heavy dl in progress, might even buy :-)

  • i feel like a super hero when i listen to this song

  • Wow.

  • Tangerine Dream and Pink Floyd, same fight... both they experimented in the late sixties, but if remember the official first TD have to be "Electronic meditation" featuring klaus Schulze by the way, that was released in 1969 or am i wrong? Didn't the floyds released before 67?

  • This is the change of classic TD-to digital boring sound?

  • @bouncefatwa

Definitively not! This is one of their classic songs. But when they became boring? Good question. I would say after Edgar went to the USoA and had his so called "Seattle Era". But that's only my point of view.

  • Edgar is truely tuned into some outerwordly shit.

  • un clásico pasan los años y sigue vigente.

    Andres Gillmore

  • i just think pink floyd got nothing to do with this music here.ping floid make rock music.this here is some other stuff.

  • @spyguybuy pink floyd is not rock... certainly not any rock music I know of sounds like them... they are "The Floyd" It's it's own genre and can only be pulled of by them alone... I don't think they are rock at all... but some of this stuff does remind me of their experimental days. And TD admits they were a huge influence on them even making references to them in their albums.

  • i love this guys..hehehe

  • Awesome !!! T. Dream is the best electronic group. Second place for Kraftwerk.

This kind of music is under german domain. No doubt. PS : I am not german.

  • top album

  • lol i wanted to download their discography, but it turns out they have 200 albums(25 gb)

  • @666Eternus666 Good Luck my friend, i am colecting TD LP's and CD's, i have about 130 items sor far and i am missing about 50%, not in this life time i supose

  • you realize that your description is inaccurate, yes? tangerine dream was before pink floyd...

  • @onangaponanga Negative.

  • @onangaponanga whaaaaaaaaaaaat... are you talking about?! this was a decade after Pink floyd recorded "a saucerful of secrets" and 7 years after pink floyd's recording of "echoes" and "meddle"! OMG! i really can't stand it when people talks about something the know nothing about... So Please!!! Read before you post!!! get informed and educated first.

  • @janismacher

You're missing my point. Tangerine Dream was established as a musical group before Pink Floyd. Thus, Tangerine Dream would influence Pink Floyd, although it's still possible for PF to influence TD because they both performed during the same years PF existed.

I was not addressing this particular song...don't beat up yourself

  • @onangaponanga

"Tangerine Dream is a German electronic music group founded in 1967 by Edgar Froese."

"Pink Floyd were also an influence on Edgar Froese and Tangerine Dream. Madcap's Flaming Duty is dedicated to the memory of the late Syd Barrett. The title refers to Barrett's solo release, "The Madcap Laughs".

Pink Floyd hit the recording studio in Dec 1964, with Roger waters and Nick Mason getting together in 1963.

    It's all on Wikipedia.

  • I was a 12 year old rabble rouser when i heard this and at weed times me and my best (one of many) girls, Melissa, used to run home to her house for a blast of dope and Cyclone. We would bone for hours on her dads Barracuda with dual carbs. That car probably cost more than his teeth and in between her legs...mmm. I pigged out on her and her sister and ran back to school with the sound of TD ringing through our ears and a wonderful taste in my mouth. Those were the days.

  • @ballrigors1 ahahahah mad story

  • old tangerine , non commercial music , THOSE were good times .

  • ummm, simply incredible, one of the best 9mins43seconds of my life.

  • Desde las remotas fronteras del sonido espacial, con ustedes Tangerine Dream.

  • this music is just askin for a bad trip.... what the?

  • Got into the dream in 79 listened to Force Majuer. My mum objected to the house and those either side vibrating to this through my wharfedales and a leak valve amp. Boys will be boys Still got the amp and the speakers and the vinyl!!! 30 years older and work better than I do.

  • awesome trip!

  • 8:18 synth run is superb

  • That's a great story "tilerman"...Tang was important in my life as well coming up...

  • Very Science Fiction beginning, I always figured a big photonic machine running inside a Starship in this intro, but this image scenery fits very good, and would be my second choice. nice job anyway. So funny to See what it is possible to make with these excellent old records. thanks

  • where is Froese'S GUITAR SOLO?

  • @MountainDewMan1000 no special need ! Depence of the sphere and soundgoals

  • i had my first wank listening to this.

  • SOLAMENTE YOOOOOOOOOOOO SE DE TANGERINE DREAMS TENGO TODOS LOS DISCOS SALUDOS DESDE EL SALVADORRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

  • fucking NOBODY makes beats like Tangerine Dream

  • I'm shrooming to this track as I type this and I'm not sure if I want to come back to reality.

  • @djpetenice Who says that the reality your in now isn't more real than this illusion called the material world?

  • To think, that this was made way back in the 1970's, dark electronic music, before NIN, and even Skinny Puppy. Mid to late 70's, synths were considered expensive, noise makers, never to make any music, just ruckus sounds. At the time this music was just called New Wave. "Elevator Music" Electronica, Industrial, Trance did not exist yet. Now people go to techno clubs, but most never heard of TD.

  • QUADE START THE REACTOR!!!

  • This was mixed ( from 1:06 onwards, but briefly ) with Tomita and used by Kenny Everett for the Captain Kremen cartoon on the Kenny Everett Video Show not long after this was released.

  • Amazing group

  • The universe is full of life we are definitely not alone just look at this less than 1% quantity of Galaxies in the space!

  • I've just smoked my 3rd cheese straw and my heads caved in too...... my mum used to go mad when i played this at home very loud ! I saw the dream in london when this came out, fantastic gig. why are they so bad now ?

  • La primer parte de Cyclone...Tangerine Dream; Rock Alemán.

  • Check out my song, (Passing strangers) I think it's kinda Tangerine Dreamish near the end. Let me know what you think.

  • seltsame weichspüler- version. das original ist um längen besser.

  • Dude, it's like you can expect at any moment for Carl Sagan to start doing a voice over about the creation the universe....

  • im kinda scared to listen to this stoned cuz sober it makes me feel like im being watched

  • perfect video

  • God dammit what atmosphere!!

  • I love this stuff!! Reminds me of one of my all-time favorite movies: "2001 - A Space Odyssey" When Dave Bowman's absorbed into the Monolith near Jupiter. Great stuff!

  • @wlvnheart they dont have anything on a lot of ambient artists i like but they have the whole spacey 'movie or soundtrack' thing down their music was probably a sci-fi movie producers dream back in the day

  • id never really given the 'dream much time thinking it would be total noodle wank but it is seriously eerie and gripping music wether or not you may have ingested some special substance listening to tangerine dream Madrigal Meridian will take you to another place - to infinity and beyond ! hail the deutsche space lords!

  • Comment removed

  • I could not belive my eyes and ears when I found out that there are still a lot of TD fans out there. Especially the early years. I my oppinion they lost i when they abandond the old analog synthesizers.

  • form outer space

  • My favorite song from Tangerine Dream. I just love it.

  • Nice vid, unsurpassable music.

  • Sounds like someone plucking on some strings, to me. The Alpha of the Centauri, the good verses yo' mama.

  • This metallic sound at the beginning, like hammers chipping away at metal, it's archetypal. It resonates deep in the unconscious, maybe in the racial memory. Bronze age man mining, forging... Anyone else get this?

  • i think i know what you mean

  • @archdeaconj all the time.

  • @archdeaconj that's just scratches in the vinyl.

  • @shotocam No, I mean the sound the starts around 2:10

  • @archdeaconj uh yeah, whatever you say

  • @Slinkysrok What do you mean, whatever I say? Whatever I say about what? Which of my postings are you responding to? There's some clanging noises at the beginning of this music. It's obviously part of the music. Somebody suggested it was scratches in the vinyl, which is just daft.

  • @archdeaconj I think I understand, like genetic memory but it's always 'going off' somewhere in the brain =/

At the beginning all those lights look like the 'electric impulse' things(synapses I think?) that go off in the brain, it's cool and quite 'chilled out'.

  • @archdeaconj not at all...just a flash back of a laser light show at the planetarium with Led Zeppelin

  • @bizz4ethix What is just a flash back of a laser light? I'm talking about a clanging noise.

  • *MOOGPWNT*

  • Literalmente hablando cierto !!!

  • 2;30 - 9:45 Pure Suspense and Adrenaline . ." Feel Goose Bumps " . . . .

  • It's a first band playing real electronic music: experimental (from "Electronic meditations" to "Alpha Centauri" and "Zeit") and next - electronic rock (specially: "Phaedra", "Rubycon", "Ricochet ", "Stratosfear", "Cyclone"). I recomend - "ZEIT"

  • Thanks . . .

  • Edgar Froese has commented that the Floyd had some early influence on TD. The Dream's music never showed much outside influence imo. They were very original.

  • @mabrion

Right, they were ( are ) very original !

  • Great song, it does remind me of Pink Floyd, also of Alan Parsons Project and a tiny bit of Jean Michel Jarre...Well ofcourse the latter were influenced I think. Still amazing song! Love it!

  • These are not songs folks. Love this music, classic TD...Must download this album Legally of course :-)

  • pink floyd?

    LOL

    I can´t see the resemblance...

  • i felt strange while wathing this

  • first 2 minutes - Pink Floyd Money:)

  • yes exactly like another brick in the wall, later wish you were here and in the end pigs....right...:))

  • If anything, this album is important because it ends midseventies style.

Next albums, Force Majeure and Pergamon, introduce early eighties style.

  • この曲大好きです もう何百回も聴いていますが飽きません up主さんTdreamの曲ありがとうございます 感謝!

  • I was 4 years old sitting with my dad listening to this song on his old widows 95 machine.

  • I hope we know how very lucky we're to watch this video, since it is so INCREDIBLY INCREDIBLE.

  • i was 11 years old boy when listen that song, such a long time ago :) perfect

  • English-speaking people, please don't use the word AWESOME anymore, English has over 500 000 words, for God's sake choose something other than awesome, awesome, awesome...

  • By that logic, nothing should be called "red" anymore... :P

  • Jursamaj, another awful expression which I read all the time is ``kicks ass``...

  • nice video

  • Krautrock is here, Krautrock is here!!!!!!!!

  • this...is.....AWESOME

  • Resurrect Krautrock NOW!!!

    foxtronink

  • its already being done man! check out Turing Machine , Fujiya & Miyagi, the last Maserati album also.. great shit

  • Awesome song. Each part of Cyclone gives you an intense feeling, still always different from the previous one. Love this stuff, the video is nice too.

  • haha this is fuckin funny and awesome when u r stoned.

  • Oh, your cool

  • Yeah I feel ya. I wish it would sound smoother, with less instruments in the background.

  • Fanstastic !

  • This song makes you wonder... does anything really exist? Yes, it sounds like a question some zonked-out stoner would ask, but this song gives me this unexplainable feeling of xenophobia and aloneness.

    So it's a p.cool song.

  • Would you be able to ask this if nothing existed? ;)

  • this sounds like a bad trip

  • Great song but parts of the beginning almost reminds me of Black Sabbath's E5150

  • Thats funny I though they where going to break out in a pink floyed song in the beggining..

  • Im doing music and its starting to sound like this!!! not doing it on purpose though

  • ZOOOOOMMMMM

  • das bringt erinnerungen hoch - hab das album noch auf vinyl - danke

  • Alles gutte meine freund aus Deutchland.

    VIVA TIJUANA MEXICO!

  • This is so fantastic... trichoone, thanks for the upload! greetings from Mexico!!!

  • I was a 13 year old schoolboy when this came out and at dinner times me and my best (only) mate Kenneth used to run home to his house for a dose of cyclone. His dad had a Linn Sondek, electrostatic speakers and valve power amps. That system probably cost more than his house and the sound! We pigged out on Picnic bars and coke and ran back to school with the sound of TD ringing in our ears. Those, were the days.
