  • kasses widio

  • What`s the song?

  • that black belt... he should have white, cuz I have yellow (I would have green but reason...)

and I can do that better than him.

  • You guys don't do martial arts, why bother them? That's JiuJitsu Techniques, Judo Techniques, Mixed JiuJitsu Judo Techs (WTF), imobilizations, ippons, mwatsageris, etc. That's a weird dojo, hehe.

  • I once trained karate, made it to orange belt but eventually quit. Sorry, but I found it very useless. I mean I just learned some combat poses and the like, but judo seems more effective for me so I think it's way better than karate. Just my opinion, OK?

  • C'mon. I get striking isn't a big thing in these martial arts..but atleast hold proper form.

    Okay...now to learn those throws...

  • thats f-u

  • lack of dynamic, thats what you get for only training katas

  • this is stupid

  • please no black gis and theres no way that guy is a judo black belt maybe its his karate belt

  • What kind of dojo allows u to dress like an oreo?

  • song name pls

  • Pretty lame techinuiqes. ive been doing judo for 12 years and im black belt, they need to show more recent and more better move's.

  • It's alright if he out punched you. That is the karateka's specialty. However, in close quarters he should have stood no chance against you; yet, he tosses you a good deal of times. It seems to me that he is better at his style of karate than you are at judo. Perhaps he has been a black belt longer than you have been?

  • judo er melhor que bosta de karte

  • The karate guys tehniques are nice and crisp looking. Though you got some good thigns on him too. Don't let youtube idiots phase you. Just work on your weaknesses and keep improving.

  • @Brandontrann

Yes I'm immature and yes I'm wrong.

Don't forget to come back here once you've kicked anybody "while not during a competition" because "traditional judo" has kicks and punches.

Have a nice day fellow judoka.

  • @Brandontrann

Fine. You're not Mr. IKnowEverythingBecauseIWatchTVAndUfc you are a fellow judoka.

Now go punch or kick somebody at your next randori because there are kicks and punches in Traditional Judo. Then come back here and give us some news on how things went.

  • @mozbius There are strikes in traditional Judo as it comes from jujitsu, this is apparent if you look towards the judo forms such as Kime-no-kata, Goshin-jutsu-no-kata, Seiryoku-Zenyo Kokumin-Taiikyu-no-kata, and others. Modern judo has veered away from strikes, and even in most cases, kata, as the focus is primarily on the sport, but even modern judo have strikes still in the kata's, but thats only usually tought in the dan grades, they just don't go into much detail.

  • @farorin

Alright lets put an end to the battle of rhetorics. I'll simply quote Jigoro Kano's "Kodokan Judo" : "Ate-waza are practiced in kata, never in randori". It can't be clearer than that. Additional techniques, including self defense and weapons are also found in the Judo katas (as Judo takes its origins from JuJutsu). There are not techniques that are "actually" used.

  • @mozbius They are not used in Randori, but they are used in Kata, thus they are tehnically in the judo curriculum. There are karate styles that teach throws, but do not use them in sparring, that doesn't mean that they aren't there. Yes, granted these days Judo does not teach proper striking as it is purely sport based in most clubs, but traditional judo, back in the days of Kano, and Kawaishi, strikes are tought, not to be used in Randori, but rather to be used in instances of self defence.

  • Best parallel that I could make of this rhetoric is: "Imagine LoicLeRoux being a guy who would be doing taibo...... Then me passing by saying man I understand that there's no kicks in taibo and stuff but could perhaps move around... And Brandon passing by to correct me huh yes there kicks in taibo.......". You got the picture? For sure there are kicks and punches in taibo but seriously.... I mean come on!

  • @Brandontrann

What can I say so that you can be happy? You'reTOTALLY right! I am a Judoka and yet I know less about Judo than a guy who's knowledge is based on youtube video and mma shows............

Now that's said I still invite you to read Jigoro Kano's book or perhaps do a couple years of Judo. At least you'll know what you're actually talking about.

  • @Brandontrann

Yes I'm wrong and you don't need to actually practice Judo either because Youtube is enough to talk about stuff that you don't actually do/practice.

  • Time for you to actually take some Judo courses.

  • @Brandontrann

Well it's official! You are now Mr. IKnowEverythingBecauseIWatchTVAndUfc.

Go read Jigoro Kano's book: "Kodokan Judo" regarding "atemi-waza" and more precisely its relation to "kata" ... You'll do both a favor.

  • @Brandontrann Man. In Judo there are no kicks and punches.

  • wenn ein judoka so nah ran kommt...

  • 0:21 dream about throw easy as that one....

The karate not win to Judo

  • Advice? I'm a nii-kyu judoka that started adding some striking (shotokan, kyokushin and ITF taekwondo) to my repertoire. Hooks. Many and often. Step in and around with hooks. They allow you to get close and use a REAL martial art to finish the guy. Jabs and kicks keep you far away

  • PATHETIC!

3 of my 4 kids could wipe the floor with these twinks...and 2 are girls!!!

    SEE: gravesjudo(dot)com

  • i got yellow belt and im better than that judoka?? but nice video

  • that's not judo at all, it's more jiu jitsu

  • everyone needs to be quiet this is the greatest video of all time

  • In which Karate Style do they wear Black Jackets instead of White?

  • The Karate guy's pretty good

  • @Brandontrann

It's either you're mixing up Japanese JiuJitsu and Judo or you're another Mr I know everything about martial arts because I watch movies and tv. Through all the years that I've been practicing judo it's the first time that I see someone telling me that there are kicks and punches in Judo!!!

  • guys... this is a judo/jujitsu class not a sparring of karate vs judo xDDD

  • mortal kombaaat!!!!

  • song?

  • He isnt black belt, i do judo and i´ve got a green belt,. I can do those techiques better then him !!!!

  • @cezaar32 My uke was a beginner in judo at that time and hes much bigger than me so its was hard to show it perfectly... I would never wear a black belt if i doesn't worth it. It's against the spirit of judo! XD

  • @LoicLeRoux

I noticed he was somewhat new..We do throw in karate..Think this guy found out with Judo and Jujutsu if you try to throw the Judo Or Jujutsu Practioneer and make a single mistake exp Judo and Jujutsu students will capitalize on that mistake and within seconds...But this looked a very interesting lesson everyone was equally as careful with each other and the smiles show yous two were enjoying it and maybe even adapting techniques to differing styles to each other.Good I like it

  • @LoicLeRoux I guess owning a black belt doesn't necessarily mean your techniques are alright... without proper maintenance it deteriorates

Also depends who you got your belt from and what standards they have. You can be sure anyone who gets his belt in Japan shows some quality throws whereas it can be much much less in other countries

  • @LoicLeRoux Size shouldn't make a difference. I am 5 ft 5 ish and 170lb's and fight a guy several times a week who is 6 ft 6 and weighs 240 lb's if you can beat the bigger opponents then you should be able to beat the smaller ones with ease. The demonstration was very good however. And I know that a blakc belt is something that went earnt means you have worked hard in Judo.

  • @LoicLeRoux I have a blue judo belt and believe me in my club it takes 3 years to get the next colour. many black belts come to our club and get angry cuz green and blue belts from our dojo can easily perform ippon with a simple ashi barai on them. BELT COLOUR = NO MEANING

  • @cezaar32 it's because he's white

  • @cezaar32 It´s just two friends playing. When i´m fighting my friends, i´m doing the same as him, just having fun and jumping around. No reason to throw people who just get hurt. Judo is after all a gentlemen sport. xD

  • @cezaar32 i agree, i know how black belts fight, i'm somtimes fighting them. this karate boy would sucks balls if he saw that epic shit which they're doin'.

  • a master with a stone can beat an amateur with a sword it doesnt matter on the martial arts it matter how good u are if u put 2 masters against each others most likely neither would win

  • I can't believe that the judo guy is black belt! I mean come on I understand that there are no kicks and punches in judo (which explains why he is so lousy at hitting) but that's not a reason not move side to side and create angles to grab on something to apply techniques!

  • I can't believe that the judo guy is black belt! I mean come on I understand that there are no kicks and punches in judo (which explains why he is so lousy at hitting) but that's not a reason not move side to side and create angles to grab on something to apply techniques!

  • @mozbius I am really black belt in judo... this is not a judo fight so i was trying to do some other stuff and stand still with my friend at karate!

  • which one is judo?

  • that black belt pussy is afraid to get hit xDD

  • le gars qui fait du judo est bon pour revoir ses techniques!!

  • Judo win

  • Pussys

  • well... these are just demonstrations. I think the karate guy would not let judo guy get that close to him. lol...

  • I don't think you guys are very good judo players sorry

  • I've studied and practiced Jyoshinmon shorin ryu karate for a good 16 years now i can say, and for one thing, even with the skills and technique i developed I cannot fight off a good boxer or bjj artist, since i now i have very open weak points, not the style, me, like my extremely slow un responsive reflexes, ha! Not the art, but you.

  • @immortalmuffinz Jyoshinmon....hurt my eyes just reading that. Why not take something more practical? like useful arts, such as BJJ and MMA.

  • @kintle182 Your stupid, you didnt get anything from my comment. Those are not "practical, useful" arts unless you yourself are. Bjj is Bjj and nothing else, its how you bend it to fit you, and your fighting style. A man with no legs in BJJ would fucking suck and couldnt fend off anyone for long, because HE is impaired, NOT THE ART.

  • @immortalmuffinz That's possibly the stupidest argument i've ever encountered. "A man with no legs couldn't use it, and it's not for everyone, so it's not practical." If a man didn't have leg's, why would he make himself vulnerable in the first place? Also, he wouldn't be able to take around 99% of martial arts, which use legs and punches set up by kicks. Truth be told, i'm not that great at MMA, but if you believe as you do, i would destroy you with ease.

  • @kintle182 God you are stupid. Are you trying to make a story for that man now? How bout a setting, lets bring in some names and characters and that pleases you, lets make a movie for him. ITS A FUCKING EXAMPLE DUMBASS. And what you said proves my point, but your so naive. THE MAN HIMSELF COULD NOT TAKE ON ANYONE BECAUSE OF HIS OWN IMPAIRMENT NOT THE ART, NOT THE MARTIAL ART THAT HE STUDIED. THE MARTIAL ART IS CONSTANT AND THE SAME FOR EVERYONE. IT DEPENDS ON HOW THE FIGHTER USES IT.

  • @kintle182 WHY DO YOU THINK THERE ARE CHAMPIONS AND TITLE HOLDERS IN UFC, K-1 PRIDE, TOURNAMENTS, SPORTS? HALF THE FIGHTERS IN UFC STUDIED MAUY THAI AND BJJ. IF THE ART DEFINED THE FIGHTER THERE WOULD BE NO WEAK POINTS, NO WAY TO OUTSMART THE OTHER FIGHTER CAUSE HE KNOWS ALL YOUR MOVES.

  • As you can see, the Karate guy will win as long as he doesn't let the judo guy catch him. If he is caught the judo guy will throw him and win though.

  • no karate, no judo but ju jitsu techniques and atemi jutsu randori

  • Pour représenter le judo, ce judoka aurai quand même pu se donner plus de peine ...

  • gay

  • 135 dislikes for karate hahahaha

  • song?

  • Thats a Yoseikan uniform isn't it?

  • and wat karate is all about ^^

  • To the guy or guys who got the idea of making this video THANK U, u are awesome now people can c wat judo is all about yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!

  • Dude for me it doesn't matter if it's a fight or not...i train shotokan karate and i think that in this video karate is better than judo....

  • Which one is judo and which one is karate? Lol. They are doing Newbie-do-be-do!

It's alright, we all start like that, they'll get better... Eventually.

  • both are great martial arts...respect !

    :)

  • karate is abut self defense not kicking any1s ass u see

  • is the karate guy in white

  • its so much easier to show of with a shorter opponents

  • Seriously guys.. I train karate but i don't do it to hurt people. I think all of this debate ''which is gonna work IRL'' is retarded man.. People who start shit like that are idiots and watched too much UFC and movies. If you want to check out how your SD moves work IRL, go start major beef with hell's angels. If i get into a fight i use my feet----- for running. It's called sport.

  • shut up dude!!!

  • that karate guy is a joke,i would knock him out cold with a throw or a punch, kick whatever, thumbs up if u agree!!

  • @MrUFClaw

I sure hope you're a troll. because this is a friendly sparring match. if you knock out your friends, you won't have any for long.

  • @shoulung i am referring to his technique, his kick if u can call those kick's are like a beginners, and hi has fear written all over his face!!and i do spar with my friends with hear gear mms gloves etc.so karate kid!!! better stick to the movies and cartoons!!!

  • @MrUFClaw

omg, another fucking keyboard bad ass.

  • @shoulung no not really, I'm a very calm person but i train more seriously then dis karate kid:))))anyway he still suck's!!!

  • Very Goooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooddd!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The thing with this video is that while the karate techniques look pretty, they would never work in a real situation while judo has been proven over and over again!!!

  • @19thaman79

but you do realize that UFC and any other sporting competition are not comparable to a self defense situation? so they can't be any proof about the usefulness.

but i have to agree that todays karate is bullshit. they threw away useful techniques because they were too dangerous. taht jumping and hitting isnt gonna help them at all if they had to defend themselves...

  • @Kiesel While I agree with the second part of your comment, please explain how a person attempting to attack you regardless if its in a cage or not is not comparable to a self defense situation? If I'm attempting to kick, punch or take you down and you use a Judo technique to either reverse it, defend it or use it as offense, isn't that proof of its usefulness?

  • @19thaman79

the problem about seeing UFC as a proof is, that it isn't allowed to attack the eyes, throat or seize the testicles. but you can do this in a sd situation. and you should as it ends a fight very quickly. even if youre the person lying down you can reach at least one of those partys fairly quickly.

  • @Kiesel I understand to extent of what your saying but at the same time, your adding variables that have nothing to with the original topic. On one hand your using the UFC as an example then your saying that its not good depiction of an actual event. I don't care if you do karate, if your at a party and are fighting multiple people, chances are your going to have more then 2 people swinging at you. How many fists can you block . The scenario you gave for BJJ can also be used for Karate as well.

  • @19thaman79

youre right, 2 (or more) attackers are 2 or more attackers. the question here is: do you wanna face them standing straight or lying down? if you youre going to the ground (which is very likely) attack the eyes, throat or testicles and get up asap. next time youre in the dojo doing groundfighting, just try to reach any of those 3. quickest way to end a fight. can you do that in a sporting competition? i believe there is a reason why it is forbidden...

  • @Kiesel What needs to be remembered here is that BJJ doesn't start on the ground. While a BJJ player is a ground specialist, they are also versed in takedowns, trips and throws due to the history of BJJ having its origins in Kano Jiu Jitsu or modern day Judo. One throw on a hard surface and the attacker won't be conscious long enough to throw a shot. The type of BJJ that sounds like your refering to to is sport BJJ. In combat style BJJ you can attack the eyes, nose, ears ect.

  • @19thaman79

but thats what a said, sporting events are not proofs :)

  • @Kiesel If a martial artist can use their skill and remove the rules, the attack is most likely going to suffer.

  • @19thaman79

secondly imagine youre attacked at a party. how many people attack you? in general more than one and even if you pinned one down, the other one can attack you while standing. so you dont wanna lie there longer than necessary.

so in short my problem about seeinf UFC and other sporting competitions as a proof: youre not allowed to use the techniques that end a fight most quickly.

  • This is not a fight between styles...

Just two fighters from two different diciplines having fun, showing eachother nice things about their styles and having a good time... People should do more of this. Building relationship, not being hostile...

  • haha looks like they're having fun

  • like it!!!! jejejeje nice video!!!

  • many people believe that karate has not grappling, but the truth is that it does.

  • Hey ! Merci. This text is french, uses an English translator french Tank you

  • Nice throws... from both sides. So stop arguing about who´s better and learn from both styles.. The more you learn, the better you get. Be a complete fighter.

  • red5154 is right, Judo only does some counterattacks, but dont attack at first. Mostly just throws

  • @joker39th Not true. There are alot of upper body joint techniques involved in judo.

  • @19thaman79 very true, i just found that out myself recently

  • @joker39th The submisson techniques are usually only taught to the more experienced Judoka.

  • white is judo. you can tell because judo consists of more throws then strikes.

  • Is the guy with the Blue Shirt Karate? And the other one with complete White dress Judo?

  • This isn't a fight its just nice demonstrations.

  • Who is who?

  • @318825768 The guy with black gi is Karate and the buy with white gi is a Judoka....

  • the martial arts no fight between them, only the fighters, and we know that exist good and bad fighters

  • @xupamelacorneta agreed...its all it the person and the aspects of the martial art they train...every martial art is equally as good

  • @xupamelacorneta You know, back about 90 to 100 years ago that was true. There were fighters who were just naturally good. But as time went on people up-ed the level of skill it takes. So bottom line, if you go into a ring you're going to need more than natural talent as a fighter. You HAVE to know certain martial arts and in that case martial arts are just better than others. Also, some martial arts just don't work. As for karate vs judo my money is on judo.

  • @DuykRuyk we'll never know it until a REAL fight, if the judoka tries to take down, the karateka can punch or kick his face (even can die for a good stroke), if the karateka dropped, he can loose an arm, leg or his throat (he can die for a strangulation).

They can fight, but they haven't the necessary adrenaline to make this fight 100% real and natural.

  • @xupamelacorneta Look up BJJ vs Karate, the karate guy tries to punch him but the BJJ guy gets him down. In the street the karate guy would be fucked.

  • @DuykRuyk In a 1-1 fight i bet for the judo too (or bjj), but on the street i go for the karate, to control a situation i bet for aikido, in my car or office i go for russian systema, and in the war, i bet for krav maga.

You're right, there is a lot of different situations. It's the reason why exist a lot of martial arts

  • @xupamelacorneta I'd say krav maga would win in all those situations. They take techniques from all of those and make them into one system. I'd go for judo on the street because cement pavement hurts like hell when you fall, and Judo throws hurt even when landing on padding. Karate, the way most people teach it, is completely useless in street situations. aikido is pretty useless because they don't stun the opponent, and systema isn't as reliable as the Russians say.

  • @DuykRuyk what do you know about karate? with a single utsuki jodan or chudan or w/e you write it can fucking knock you out dude, The person that uses the marcial art is the one that counts since for ie you know kung fu but you are terrible at using tecniques it m akes usuless knowing marcial art

  • @simasbrother One: please use spell-check more often. I had great difficulty reading what you typed. Two: Take the greatest karate practitioner in the world and put him against a high school or college wrestler. He will get his ass kicked. Why? because they don't train against those techniques. Being a naturally good fighter will only last as long as your opponent can't put you in a situation where you need to know certain techniques to get out.

  • @DuykRuyk it's your freaking trouble if you can't read japonese, plus i ain't arguing with you,

    Peace Out

  • @simasbrother Ummm, I wasn't talking about your romaji. I was talking about your terrible spelling. But mostly about how you didn't even bother to use spell check. Good that your not arguing with me. Seems like you've seen to reason.

  • @xupamelacorneta what the hell are you talking about

  • @howaboutpie1 there's no better martial art

  • @xupamelacorneta Yup, I totally agree with you.

  • Get real .. judo is the best,

  • JUDO is done gently in real time it can cause death. Ie: throws such as Uchi Gari & Osoto Gari. Judoka 4 Life!

  • judo wins only in SLOW MOTION :D

  • karate ist the best

  • isso é uma luta ou é aula de defesa pessoal?

  • wer gewann also

    where was a winner

  • there is no karate in this video

  • very good demonstration this is what martial arts can do if you train and have good habits and e.t.c.

  • Great Video !

You guys are proper Martial Artists- and you actually show how regular people could use the various Techniques in Real Life situations.

    Thanks for posting.

  • nice tekken music

  • at 3:02 Great reversal by the judokan. =]

  • basicly is the judo guy grabs or gets in close the karate guy is screwed but if the judo guy cant get close enough hes screwed

  • Good demo. IMO Judo is best, but doesn't hurt to train in boxing for a few months either

  • ???????? No white, No black.

  • the judo guy does not deserve that black belt

  • this song is- Lunatic Calm - Leave You Far Behind !! :)

  • i wonder what's the title of the song they used in this video?

  • @summer734 hey, its roller coaster by the deftones, cool video by the way!

  • @summer734 "Leave you Far Behind" by Lunatic Calm

  • The guy pretending to do Karate is no good at it... his stance, his kicks and his arm combats along with his reactions are very weak and are not Karate style. It is a shame that he wears a black belt.

  • @sal7va7dor most karate black belts are crap when they spar with rules like this.

  • what style of karate was that ? he looked like a boxer to me his kicks were "slow" and slopy looking. im a 2nd dan at wa do ryu and a 1st at jujitsu and it looks to me like you just made one of your guys who has boxed befor make out like he did karate.

no front kicks no front leg sweeps and not even a real reverse punch mmmmm.......

  • theres such thing as a "t shirt" gi :P

  • el de verde es ???

  • i met 2 put 19 i missed the 1 off lol

  • judo was before ju jutsu looked at google you idiot

  • You are right dude I practice myself ju jutsu :P

  • samurai's on the battle field = ji jujitsu = judo = Brazilian ji jujitsu

  • @insane4342 in terms of age:

jujutsu > judo > braz. jujutsu

samurais used only jujutsu from those 3

the 2 later didn't even exist in the samurai era

  • judo came after ju jiustu. Dont get ju justu confused wit Brazillian Ju justu (which came after judo). Google it.

  • are you a retard ju jutsu is at least 700 years old and judo is barely 150 years old judo came from ju jutsu

  • no it wasnt you capper

  • @ ottimotti1

Before you post your stupid uneducated opinion, please do a little bit of background research.

Jujitsu was a fighting art used by the samurai on the field of battle. During peace time, a man named Kano Jigaro wanted a new martial art that eliminated the deadlier aspects of Jujitsu to allow a safe and effective sport to be developed. This is how Judo came about.

So Judo did come before Jujitsu, and please, do a bit of research before spouting useless information.

  • @ajuicejemas you just said judo came from jiu jitsu. and then you say "so judo did come before Jujitsu" how did judo come from jiu jitsu if judo came first (according to you)??? you make no sense. hopefully it was just a typo that happened and you dont really think that.

  • @Tracer564

Oh man, I can't believe I missed that! Yes, that was a mistake. Thanks for catching that typo.

  • @Tracer564

BJJ (Brazilian Jujitsu) is different from the old school Japanese Jujitsu.

Sometimes people say Jujitsu referring to both arts.

BJJ is considered a descendant art of Judo, which was a descendant art of Japanese Jujitsu.

  • @ottimotti1 it went jujitsu > judo > brazil jujitsu :p silly goose

  • you cant be 9 and habe the black belt you idiot you must be 6 to do judo and ypu break 2 years for the orange belt and then you 8 then when you 9 you have the green belt only
