This is from the second act. She is playing the spectre of Giselle who died in the first act as a result of the betrayal of her love. In this act she saves him from the Wilys who try to dance him to death.

Repetition is the mother of skill.

Basic movements at the barre are like a singer doing vocal prctice. It's all based on muscle memory and passion.

Maybe you should've tried contemporary or jazz?

To my mind, Carole Arbo is the perfect Giselle. Her pale, fragile complexion, her sylh-like body evoke the apparition of a Wili. I think her partner is Kader Belabi.

Yeah you're right. Right at the 2:30 mark when the camera is zoomed out. It's kinda hard to tell if it was his fault or hers, but she's so tiny it seems like he should have been able save it better than that.

In this ballet, it's ok what she is doing with her head. Don't forget that she is heart broken and dead, so there's a lot of pain in her and that's why she must look sad and look down.

Usually old principal dancers dance Giselle or other ballets like this one. Giselle is a difficult ballet, but it's is relatively short compared to other ballets and I would say that also the choreography doesn't require as much from the dancer as Don Q would, for example.
