The abridged version is much better than the full-length one. :/ Or maybe it's just Hofmann's playing.

and in 1916 the actions weren't as slick as they are today. Those repeated notes are really unbelievable.

Most listeners here must know the famous joke of Rachmaninoff (6'4") coming up to Hoffman (5') after a concert and saying:
